My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

I have got to quit watching the Olympics at night.  I am fully addicted (and want to look like them).  All of them.  Is it possible to undo 16 years of inactivity and obesity and look like a beach volley ball player for my 40's?  I think the 6 kids DESTROYED the abs, bless their hearts.  The legs and arms are ok, but dang, the rest is pretty shot all to Hades!

Enough useless rambling, the run was unbelievable this morning!  Lovely and hot and nice and great!  I am off to the Bath of Ice and Doom.  Magic!

What a glorious thing to be able to run!  Just glorious!  Now it would actually exceed glorious if I looked like any of the women swimmers or volley ball players, (or even some of the men cyclists! ;)

Hades

You look MAREVELOUS!!! We can not all be female volleyball players, the world need some variety! I do wish I could find my abs...I work them enough to make them hurt (but not too much), so I know they are there!!

Great running! And where were you that it was hot? It was FREEZING in Herriman (and still is--all of the windows are open and we have cooled the house down to 67. My kids are all wrapped up in blankets crying that it is too cold!)

I was actaully cold when I started and then got really hot. All sun the whole way home. I also did not wear my tank top today. I looked at my back side and decided I needed more clothes. My back is fat and it makes me MAD!!! As you can probably tell, I am having body image problems today :O

Thanks for the "hades"

Hey! NO negative self talk allowed!!! You look awesome! You are a role model for so many people!!! Stand tall and strut your stuff!!! Great run!!

From marion on Aug 12, 2008 at 11:48:17

Ok Les/Mom :) I am tall, that is good:) My feet a big, though.

Sorry, my Polly Anna is hold up in the closet. I locked her in last night. She was bugging me ;)

From laurie on Aug 12, 2008 at 11:52:56

We turned the lock around on my kids door so if we really needed to they can't open their door and escape. We are always right there with them though.

And at least you have the height to go with your feet, I should be 6" taller with my size 10 d width feet :) You think I would be better coordinated but I'm not......

From marion on Aug 12, 2008 at 11:57:52

Hey Laurie! We can share shoes! My running shoes are MENS 10.5 double E. My girly shoes are 10W.

When I was a kid, my mom would say, "who shot your Polly Anna?" when we had turned into pessimists. I say it to my kids, but they have no idea who Polly ANna is. I need to get that movie.

From leslie on Aug 12, 2008 at 12:01:30

You guys crack me up.... my feet are dainty and petite, a mere 9 1/2 exta wide!!!! I think I need to see Polly Anna, is she super sugary sweet and positive all the time?

From Kim on Aug 12, 2008 at 12:02:24

I'm so glad you had an unbelievable morning! You deserve it!

From Metcalf Running on Aug 12, 2008 at 12:04:02

Marion, Glad that you are running and feeling good!! I think at times we all suffer from body envy, I know that I do, and it's a tough habit to break... but it never helps. I have to try real hard to have positive self talk. SO YOU DO TO :) You have accomplished so much!!! you are your own olymipic champion!

Thanks Kim!

Yes Les, Polly Anna pretty much needs to be SLAPPED!! :P

From marion on Aug 12, 2008 at 12:10:40

Thanks Lori! I have come a long way, baby! Today I am just being a stinker :) I WANT IT ALL!!!! (evil laugh)

From Laurie on Aug 12, 2008 at 13:39:44

I watched polly anna as a kid. She even got the grumpiest hermit to be happy and kind and share and help.....and then when she got hurt the WHOLE town pulled together for her, even the grumpy old hag who was planning for her own funeral.

From marion on Aug 12, 2008 at 14:05:04

Polly Anna ROCKS!!

From Kelli on Aug 12, 2008 at 15:05:02

Your back can not be fatter than mine...it is a very ugly, stupid genetic trait that I feel I have no control over. I try...but it does not go away. No tank tops for me EVER!!!!
