Personal:

My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

If there's one thing I've learned it is that negative splits are addicting! :) Great run today :) It's always fun to finish faster than you started! Woot woot! Hope it is warmer there than it is here!

Mmmm homemade bread. YUM!!!!

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 10:23:33

I have to admit, the breat is good! You should learn how to make it. It's really easy and cheap! I got tired of paying $4 for a loaf of good bread. So now I make 4 loaves for about $1!! Ho ho ho!!

The temp is 39 :) Now snow today :D

From The Howling Commando on Nov 11, 2008 at 10:27:29

4 loaves for a buck! Holy monkeys! How hard is it to make bagels? I want to try to make those too. MMM I love cooking food that tastes yummy! I swear I'm going to turn into a bagel!

From Lucia on Nov 11, 2008 at 10:28:22

Negative splits indeed, Marion! No apology necessary. You rule!!!

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 10:47:19

I have never been able to fuigure out bagels. they are a secret food that only the Gods know how to make!

From leslie on Nov 11, 2008 at 10:58:01

Good run girl. Now on the bread.... do you make it the old fashioned way in the real live oven and do you make whole wheat? Do tell me more, that sounds like a wonderful wintery thing to do. And by the way the pumpkin pancakes were from Mimi's and they were to die for!!!

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:22:33

Yes Les- it is 100% whole wheat made in my very own 1935 Wedgewood oven! ;)

From The Howling Commando on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:24:22

You have an oven from 1935?! Did they even have those back then? Wooee that's sweet :)

From leslie on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:24:36

Can I drop by this afternoon? I can almost smell it from here!

From Lucia on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:27:05

This is killing me! You can't blend bread unfortunately - Bread and cheese are two things I really miss on this liquid diet... mmmm... whole wheat bread... soooo yummy!

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:27:31

I'll have to check wiht my father in law for the exact oven date. It could be from the 40's or 50's too. The house was built in 1935.

Les- the bread will be ready and hot in about an hour. Come on down!!! :)

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:30:52

I could mail you a loaf when you are better ;)

From Lucia on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:31:32

Now you're talking! ;)

From The Howling Commando on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:35:04

You should mail me one too :) I could return the favor mailing you some of our awesome NY BAGELS.. Yum! Yay Carbs! :) I'm so lucky I'm a runner else my waist would be like 97.5" inches!!

From The Howling Commando on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:40:12

Or maybe I'll just take a rain check. One of these days I am going to actually get out to UTAH! Hopefully I will see some of the running bloggers! I really really really want to do St. George Marathon just for the views!!!

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:49:07

I like your idea Benn- Ya'll come out for a marathon and I will supply the homemade bread and local honey. Benn- you must bring some "real" bagels. I have almost forgotten what they taste like ;)

From Metcalf Running on Nov 11, 2008 at 14:00:28

MMMM all this talk of bread and beagles is making me humgry!

Benn SGM is beautiful... so is Ogden, you definalty need to do one soon.

Lucia... bread I can't help you with, but there is cheese in a can HAHAHAHA

From Lucia on Nov 11, 2008 at 14:05:02

Yuck!!! Cheese in a can sounds soooo awful!!! It's probably pure oil... brrrr... Man do I miss cheese and bread... and candybars... and muffins... and and and... :)

From Kelli on Nov 11, 2008 at 14:27:42

Great run this morning---all that matters is that you enjoy it. Speed only matters in a race, right? And even then, I do not care that much!!!

Have a great day with the laundry. At least you have the bread to keep you company!

From britta on Nov 11, 2008 at 14:47:43

Awesome 5 miler in under an hour!!!

From montelepsy on Nov 11, 2008 at 15:19:07

Homemade bread is definitely worth running a marathon for. Instead of honey (weird), may I have mine with fish paste?

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 15:21:42

Thanks everyone!

Mike- you may have the fish paste, but if you throw up, it is NOT MY FAULT!!! ;)

From Camille on Nov 11, 2008 at 18:44:59

I need to learn how to make break. That sounds yummy.

From Smooth on Nov 11, 2008 at 22:51:38

Bread sounds so good right now and I didn't even run a single step today. WAY TO GO GIRL!!!

From marion on Nov 11, 2008 at 23:40:39

Camille- bread is fun and easy to make! Find a neighbor or friend to teach you. It's really easy is someone will show you.

Smooth- I have to say that this bread was SO soft and squishy. This was 100% whole wheat bread that was softer and squishier than any white bread. YUMM!! I love it when bread turns out just plain perfect :)
