My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

A big fat goose egg for today :(  I am guessing I had a bit of food poisoning last night.  No one here is sick but me and we've all eaten the same stuff.  Let's just say that I feel 89% better this morning and weigh 6 lbs less this morning that I did yesterday morning.  I NEVER throw up!  Anyway, I hope ya'll are having a GREAT day!  We may go for 10 miles tomorrow if all goes well today :D

Do you think I could be allergic to quinoa?  That is the only thing I ate before I got sick.  hummmm.

So sorry to hear you are sick!

From kelsey on Nov 07, 2008 at 14:22:41

Only you would have such a happy quote after getting sick all night! I was looking at inspirational quotes and this one reminded me of you:

"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm."

You definitely have the enthusiasm down!!!

From kelsey on Nov 07, 2008 at 14:22:58

oh yeah, and feel better!!!

From Smooth on Nov 07, 2008 at 15:00:23

Bummer for the tummy issue.:( Goody for the 6 lbs loss...tho' not a recommended way to loose. Don't know anything about quinoa. Smart to take a rest day. Sure hope you feel better quick.

From Metcalf Running on Nov 07, 2008 at 15:17:57

From marion on Nov 07, 2008 at 15:47:05

Thanks guys- David is home and I am laying in bed and watching tv. I feel MUCH better, and should be 100% tomorrow!

From marion on Nov 07, 2008 at 15:50:46

Lori- you do not want this! I threw up ALL over the lawn at the park on the way home from choir. I feel bad for the sledders! GROSS!!!!!! Sorry ;)

From Kelli on Nov 07, 2008 at 15:55:47

So sorry you are not well!!! Rest and get better and maybe we will see you tomorrow (is that what you meant about 10 miles?????)

It was only about 4 hour of HELL and then 4 more of restless ill feeling sleeping and then a day in bed just for good measure. I could probably get up and be productive, but why not stay down with David home to entertain the troops. I so rarely get to play hookie from my life ;)

From The Howling Commando on Nov 07, 2008 at 17:12:20

I don't know what quinoa is :( but that doesn't sound too good :(! I just got my new shoes today in the mail! Two new pairs! I am going to go to the track and go for an easy jog in one of them I think! It's so cool to have two new pairs of shoes! I've never done that before. I am actually going to label them as pair #1 and pair #2 hehe :)

From marion on Nov 07, 2008 at 17:45:03

Benn- FUN, I love new shoes!!! Whoo Hoo!!! Hey there is a spell checker on mozilla firefox! Cool!

I have a little dog tag on my shoes to tell them apart. One pair has it on the right shoe and the other has it on the left :) The dog tag is to make sure that when I drop dead running one day, whom ever finds me can get me back to my family ;)

From The Howling Commando on Nov 07, 2008 at 18:59:30

I would do that, but that sounds a little eek scary! I am just going to label my shoes 1 and 2 on the inside of the tongues. :) Yay for sharpies!

The "mystery smell" was gone at the track today! Though there was a young man making catcalls from the nearby playground at me. I responded politely "Sorry sir, I'm spoken for". He shut up after that (though I was afraid he'd appear on the track ready to duel me!) I really have to learn to hold my tongue!

From kungfublonde on Nov 07, 2008 at 19:23:08

6 lbs?? That seems like a lot!

Do you get sick every time you eat quinoa? Maybe you just caught a bug. I'm sorry you got so sick- that's awful. The only time I get that sick is when I'm pregnant (my labors go great, but it's a rough 9 months before that), and of course then it's worth it. I'm glad you are feeling better!

From The Howling Commando on Nov 07, 2008 at 19:29:17

I can lose 6 lbs on a run if I forget to bring water with me :) I have a thyroid condition they think. I am just always hot (no not like appealing "eye candy" hott, but just temperature wise!) It is why I wear shorts year round. I am just always unbotherably hot and miserable.

So what is QUINOA? I suppose I could google it but maybe I should guess first. Is it some kind of wild mushroom?

From marion on Nov 07, 2008 at 19:57:14

Rachel- It was a LOT of sick :P I have gotten a belly ache from eating it and last week I had tummy troubles too after eating it. I waited a whole week to eat it again to see if that could be it. I am not totally sold that it is, as quinoa allergies are rare. I;ll try some in a month and see what happens. We've got EpiPens around here, so I am not to worried about a sever reaction ;)

Ah come on Benn- we ALL know that you are HOT!!! I've seen the family picture!!! I have a thyroid condition and I am always cold! Quinoa is a grain that is high in protein. It's very tasty... unless you are throwing it up! :P

From kungfublonde on Nov 07, 2008 at 21:04:12

Well, maybe you are not allergic, maybe it just doesn't agree with you. There are so many awesome grains though. Do you like Bulgur? It's my favorite. That and barley. The girls liked it until Mike said, "vulgar bulgur" and then suddenly it grossed them out. Amanda liked mushrooms too, until Maddy started talking and called them "restrooms." It grossed Amanda out so badly, she stopped eating them!

From The Howling Commando on Nov 07, 2008 at 21:05:06

oh I did better today too, Marion! Only had 1 bagel today instead of my usual 4! :)

From marion on Nov 07, 2008 at 22:16:08

Benn- that is great... unless you are hungry :) I love bagels too, but I can't eat very many of them.

Rachel- I am all about NOT being allergic to anything. We've got WAY too much of that around here :) I love barley :) I am sure it was just a fluke about the quinoa. I probably touched something and caught a bug :) I know how your girls feel. I used to have a hard time with Ham- boogers!!!

From montelepsy on Nov 08, 2008 at 01:09:19

Maybe you're allergic to things that aren't pronounced how they're spelled.

I don't like quinoa. The first time I had it I threw up. Not because of the quinoa, though. I became motion sick after watching Blair Witch in the theater and I threw up dinner. Now I associate quinoa with throwing up.

I hope I never throw up brownies.

From kungfublonde on Nov 08, 2008 at 01:34:15

He can't drink strawberry quick for that same reason.

From marion on Nov 08, 2008 at 09:05:54

NO, NOT BROWNIES!!!

You are probably right Mike :)

From MichelleL on Nov 08, 2008 at 14:54:00

Hey 6lbs - Do you know what I am going to say next?

From MichelleL on Nov 08, 2008 at 14:54:35

That's right - it means its time for your next tempo :)

From marion on Nov 08, 2008 at 14:59:49

YEAH!!!! I am ready :) I should hopefully be all healed up after a few days of "regualr" digestion! :) I can't wait to see your new hair :)
