My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

Hello fellow runners!  Yes, I am a runner again, all be it pathetic :)  Today, no running.  Dr Brady said no two days in a row for this week.  So, tomorrow I will be doing the one mile thing then next monday I will try two miles one mile, two miles, one mile, etc.  Then the next week 2-3-2-3-2-3, then 3-4-3-4-3 etc.

Today I am going to go on a few easy day hikes, so I'll take my garmin to clock my miles.  I have got to count something for miles.  I feel so naked without any miles.

Have a GREAT day and NO MORE INJURED FBR'S!!!

Yayyy for Marion being cleared to run!

If I were you, I'd count 2 miles of hiking as 1 mile of running or something like that... Especially if you hike fast, or in a difficult/hilly terrain. Have fun!

From marion on Aug 06, 2008 at 17:17:31

Thanks Lucia. Our hike pace was set by my 2 year old, so... I probably should not count any of it :) Have you found out any new info from the docs (or online) about your injury? Hang in there!

From Lucia on Aug 06, 2008 at 17:20:09

We should create a new template of "fun miles" for those :)

I'm seeing my orthopedic doctor tomorrow morning... lots of questions that need answers! Wish me luck, thanks for your support!!!

GOOD LUCK!!! I'll be waiting to read all about it. Lots of details, please :D

It is so hot and muggy today---hiking with kids does not sound fun!! At least not my kids, they whine too much!!

I am glad to see your run last night went okay. Take it slow and keep up with the Yoga! Every time I visit the sports Dr, he prescribes Yoga---it helps!

Speaking of Yoga, do you just watch it on your computer?? How does that work? My screen is not big enough!

From marion on Aug 06, 2008 at 18:15:32

Yes I do watch it onthe screen. THere is a "make it bigger" button below the image on the right center ish.

Way to go!!!! I bet you are so happy to be running even if it is every other day. Make sure that you take it slow and do as the doctors tell you so you can get back to 100%
