Personal:

My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

I have been dizzy and faint all week with serious tummy trouble.  Today I just couldn't do the miles.  I called it quits and turned around at 1 mile.  I am going to have a bland breakfast and lay on the couch all day!  FUN!!!

31:00, ave 14:19, best 9:24(trying to not get run over ;), Laps- no point.

Here is an 80's goodie- Junior year (1985-1986) at Los Gatos High School Sadie Hawkins dance.  This is my husband, David, and me.  I was 5'9" about 140 and looked FAT next to that twig of a swimmer boy!  Do you like my pegged legged 501's?  Do you like his Swatch?  How about my Ray Ban sunglasses around my neck?

Now this goodie is at my 14th birthday, pre-braces!  Please note the purple Izod shirt and the TI sweatshirt! Oh, the featherd hair is also HOT!

From leslie on Oct 30, 2008 at 10:06:01

You were a babe!!! Very cute little girl!

Sorry you are feeling crappy, take it easy. Do you have to work today? Maybe you will have to stick with me and be my co-sweeper buddy on Sat.

Do take care!!!

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 10:12:16

I will for sure be in the back of the pack on Saturday! I am going to stay home for 2 days and rest! No work, no nothing. I did all of the laundry yesterday so we wont run out of undies unitl monday ;)

From leslie on Oct 30, 2008 at 10:19:38

Good plan! I will be glad to have the company! Laundry for 8 sounds like a horrible chore, put it off as long as you can, clean undies are overrated! (oh gross! Did I really say that?)

From kungfublonde on Oct 30, 2008 at 10:26:06

Sorry Marion- the 80's were ugly, but you just can't look bad. Too cute.

I hope you feel better soon. Tummy trouble is the worst :(

From JulieC on Oct 30, 2008 at 11:30:26

I was also liking your husband's Minnie Mouse T-shirt. He must have been in love!!! The jean jacket is cool too!!

From kungfublonde on Oct 30, 2008 at 11:49:18

Ok, I think I gave you a run for your money on my blog today. It's the only running I'll be doing for a few more days ;)

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 12:14:33

Your pics are FANTASTIC!!! I love them RAchel!!! You are smokin' hot!!! The 80's weren't ugly they were an ADVENTURE!!!... in hairspray!

From kungfublonde on Oct 30, 2008 at 12:18:39

Remember Dep hair gel? And Auqa-net hairspray? I used it all!! The funniest part is that as much as I cringe when I see my 8th grade pic now, I remember how my friends all thought it was so cool! I think you and I would have totally been friends in school. Flipping our bangs, popping our collars and trading slap bracelets :)

From montelepsy on Oct 30, 2008 at 13:15:26

You could have been in a shampoo commercial! It's like you're saying, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!" and tossing your shining locks about.

From leslie on Oct 30, 2008 at 13:25:26

Mike! That was great!

From montelepsy on Oct 30, 2008 at 13:34:17

I just said what her picture inspired my mouth to speak, Ms Leslie.

From luzylew on Oct 30, 2008 at 13:41:28

I think we are sisters from another life, or at least Classmates of 1985! Flock of Seagulls everyone! Don' you love when you thought 140 was 'fat' in high school and now you'd have to amputate a limb to achieve that 'goal' weight?

From Kelli on Oct 30, 2008 at 14:00:50

You guys and your pictures!!! They are cracking me up! I am thinking my HS years were not all too different, aside from the hair. We had those huge bangs, and our pants were actually folded over and then rolled up to be pegged. UGLY, what were we thinking? And CRINGE as much as possible, becasue it is back! My daughter and her skinny jeans---I hate those things!!

Marion you MUST get better!!!

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 14:26:02

Dep was the best! I lived with aqua net in one hand! We would have been great friends! :) I forgot about the two shirts and the colars! It's been such a LONG time :)

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 14:31:49

Mike- that comercial was my favorite! We used to make mock comerials with our HUGE video recoreders!

Luz we were for sure sisters! :)

Yes- my duaghter woke me this morning with the question, "did you wash my skinny jeans?"

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 14:38:19

***Oh by the way, I feel asleep writing my Dep comment right after RAchels Dep comment, hence the long and strange pause in the thought. Now I feel like I took a nap with my face on the floor, which I did! My head hurts! and my face has carpet marks! I must have needed the nap ;)

From Metcalf Running on Oct 30, 2008 at 16:28:41

Marion, you are histarical!! I hope you feel better soon.

Lori

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 16:30:19

i'd better- I feel like I am ALWAYS sick with something! CRUD! I'm a whiner!!

From Burt on Oct 30, 2008 at 18:22:55

Okay, I realize there's Disney theme going on there, but Minnie? Either Julie's right that he was in love, or else you had him whipped. wha-chaa!

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 18:34:13

Well, the Mickey shirt was pink and I was wearing that one, so that left the Minnie for him. Yes, we was/is (I hope) TOTALLY in love and it diddn't hurt that I was/am a GREAT kisser!! ;D

From marion on Oct 30, 2008 at 18:37:41

Ok- I must fix that grammatical error, "Yes, we was/is" was supposed to be "Yes, HE was/is"

That whole "We was goin' campin'" thing drives me UP A WALL!!!

From Burt on Oct 30, 2008 at 22:25:26

I posted a picture on my blog from '91. Not quite the 80's, but close enough for now.

From Camille on Oct 31, 2008 at 14:23:56

Too cute! I didn't realize your married your highschool sweet heart! Cute Cute Cute. I'll have to find some more pictures. LOL.

I also noticed the mini mouse and his shirt and chuckled. I think my mom had that same shirt.

From marion on Oct 31, 2008 at 14:31:40

I asked DAvid about the shirt. He didn't remember it but he did admit to being TOTALLY in love with me AND whipped. I had magic powers, I tell you!

From Camille on Oct 31, 2008 at 15:35:28

Marion, your husband's mini mouse shirt reminded me of a family picture we took where I was wearing a mini mouse overall skirt. So, I posted more 80's pictures. :o)

From walter on Oct 31, 2008 at 18:58:33

Very nice Marion! OMG! Im laughing and it hurts.literally!

From montelepsy on Nov 01, 2008 at 10:09:23

Wow, he's still in whipped love. That's some spell you cast...

From marion on Nov 01, 2008 at 11:55:54

It's true Mike. I have been slipping potion into his cereal for years!

From kungfublonde on Nov 01, 2008 at 12:00:26

Man, if only I could get Mike to eat CEREAL!

...maybe if I put tuna and tobasco in it...

From walter on Nov 01, 2008 at 12:03:26

Tuna and Tabasco huh? Very interesting.

From marion on Nov 01, 2008 at 12:10:06

David always eats his cereal with tobasco and and tuna in it! But I do make him eat it outside ;) Us white folk can't handle it! ;D

Walter- tuna and tobasco keep hernias from recurring! They also work better than oxycotin (sp?)!

From walter on Nov 01, 2008 at 12:57:21

thats clever Marion! Im not buying it though!

From marion on Nov 01, 2008 at 13:01:01

It must be true! My husband has never had a hernia! He also has never needed a pain killer! Waht do you think Mike? Any hernias?
