Personal:

My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

I have got to not stay up for the olympics!  But I just can't help it!  I thought that one dude on the still rings was DEAD when he fell!  Man was it exciting last night.  I actually screamed when the other guy fell off the high bar.  (I am really bad with names, except for Phelps and Misty May)

We (yes, Kim R is back :) left at TEN o'clock!  STUPID!  I had to walk a bit after mile three cause I was feeling like CRAP!!!  Oh well!  I will not do that again!  The legs are good :)

I should be at just about 20 miles this week.  Dr Brady said that was Okee Dokee!  He also said I sould run more on the DREADMILL!  Maybe he does not know everything ;D  Just kidding... he is all knowing!!!

54:30, two short walking breaks, too hot :(, ave pace 12:37, best pace 8:05, laps-11:44, 11:29, 10:57, 10:34  Ice bath and a banana smoothie!  Burrrrr!!!

Keep up the good work!

The Olympics are messing up my sleep and training schedule. I must have turned it off before all the falling (I only saw all the falls off the pommel horse).

Finally bought my boss her own lacrosse ball. She keeps stealing mine. We use them at work for deep massages.

From marion on Aug 14, 2008 at 14:56:08

Thanks Maurine! I have been using wooden spoons, and my knees. a ball might be nice :)

From tarzan on Aug 14, 2008 at 16:39:26

Tennis balls are good because they are a little soft. Lacrosse balls are hardcore and can really dig in deep.

Another neat tool to try is called a Theracane (aka tool of torture). People always steal mine off my desk.

From marion on Aug 14, 2008 at 16:43:41

So are they stealing the stuff to torture themselves or others? Sounds like a fun office ;D

That is way too late. Were you in the canyon at all? It is a little cooler up there isn't it? But way to keep at it. I quit altogether in the heat!

I miss Payson Canyon. I can not remember if I told you this, but my grandparents had an apple orchard right at the bottom of the canyon (it is all houses now). I need to come visit and reminisce...

Able to do 20 miles a week already! Great job! I hope it continues to improve! I know hte FRB will have the most exuberant cheerleader ever at Hobble Creek! :D

I hate when I do the 'hte' thing!

From marion on Aug 14, 2008 at 19:55:55

Kelli- No canyon today :( We were sweating it pretty bad :( You'll have to come down and do a long run with us down the canyon some time. It IS much cooler and really beautiful. Lot;s of foxes, right Kim? :)

Kim- Yeah, Dr brady said I should be back up to 28-30 by three weeks. I am going to do more like, 10, 20, 25, 30 ish thing. and of course, go by feel. I will pull back if they get stiff again, and get into see him. :)

Thanks guys!!!

Man! I am suffering from the late night Olympics-watching too! I am exhausted. But it's only once every 4 years.

Hey, you are doing fabulous with your running and taking good care of yourself. Keep it up, you are going places, chica!
