My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

I now you all are heading out today and tomorrow and I wanted to wish you all the best!  You have all worked SO hard and I am amazed and in awe of everything you do!  YOU GUYS ROCK!!!  ps- and thanks for letting me be so high on the mileage board for the past week.  Now I know how it feels to be ya'll!!!

No sleep last night :(  Will had the stomach flu.  David got the first round and then it was my turn.  I could not wake up this morning at all.  I finally rolled out of bed about 8:30.  I took the boys in the jogger for the first time.  It was a bit strange, but I think I'll get used to it.  My right arm did not like holding on to the the stroller so it got to swing.  We saw a train and the boys LOVED that!!  They also loved running under I-15 and over the old train tracks!  Mac and Will argued over weather the horses were cows or horses and Mac wanted to know if any of them were donkeys.  Good times!  Pre-school and running all that the same time :D

I am seriously toying with the idea of running the Ogden Marathon.  I think I really might like to do it.

I've got peaches to deal with and a long run in the morning.  Oh yeah- and TONS of yucky laundry!  CRUD!!!!!  Have a great day...I'm gonna! ;D

Running 4.2, 50 something.  My garmin ran out of juice as I came in the door :)  All charged up.  I ran the 5 k route backwards. Laps- 12:25, 12:50, 14:44, 14:50  Apparently it is a bit up hill for the last 2 miles.  Interresting!

Hope Will feels better. When's Ogden? And what formula do you use to convert from biking to running?

From marion on Oct 02, 2008 at 13:36:56

Hi MIke! Thanks about Will. He's right as rain this morning :) Every 12 minutes of biking is 1 running mile for me. Sasha is the one who came up with the conversion for me. Ogden is May 16th.

I am in awe of you young multi-tasking moms!!! Thanks for the best wishes on St. George, and Ogden is a great one to consider, I think you should sign up for St. George as well! You are doing great Marion!

From marion on Oct 02, 2008 at 15:07:04

This mama is reaching the end of her rope! OK Les- here is the secret. I am afraid to commit to St George. All of hte "what ifs" are making me NUTS! How do you get in to the SGM every year?

From leslie on Oct 02, 2008 at 15:15:55

Marion, I am in the 10 year club now so I get in every year. YOu just need to jump in with both feet and do it, and don't over analize it. It isn't all about speed, most of the blog is speedy and that is great, but there are a lot of less serious runners that just do it for recreation and are not competitive. It is such a thrill to be a part of all the excitment! There are so many ways to run a marathon, and they are all great! I love the Penguins saying ...oh crap, I forgot it, I have to post this and I will return with his quote it is PERFECT! I will be right back.

From leslie on Oct 02, 2008 at 15:31:30

Okay, here was the quote that got me to run my first marathon

"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start"

I was so afraid of my first marathon, that I made myself sick. I asked a runner his advice and he said, " Just get to the starting line, THAT'S IT, anything that happens to you is okay, it is okay if you crap your pants, its okay if you are the last one in, it is okay if you puke, it is okay if don't finish, its okay if you cry like a baby and his final words to me were just make sure you put vasoline between legs and on your boobs! That made me laugh, of course he was a guy and we don't have the boob chaffing problem. But his words got me to the starting line, and no matter how fast or slow you go, it is an awesome life altering experience and I enjoy every minute of. Okay, there is my lecture for the day!!

Oh, now go sign up for Ogden and you can run with Maurine and I!!! We are so much fun, if I do say so myself!! Hahahaha!

From marion on Oct 02, 2008 at 15:48:20

Ok- I'm in for Ogden. I am bawling like a baby as I type this. The house is clean and almost all the beds are made(one more load of pukie sheets). The laundry is going and I have just commited to running 26.2 miles! My brain may explode!!! I really don't care about time. Thank you Leslie for your encouragement. I would love to run it with you guys! I know I am a nut case, I know. I must be really tired and just very excitable today. I guess after Hobble Creek being such a bust, I am a little gun shy! Does Ogden fill up?

From marion on Oct 02, 2008 at 17:08:23

Les- If you want to stop and get a few peaches on your way down, we've got some :)

From leslie on Oct 02, 2008 at 18:16:05

Yeah!!!! I don't think Ogden fills up real fast, but I am not sure, Maurine would know, I am going to sign up after St. George. It will be sooo much fun to have you run with us!!!! Take a look at the website!

yum! Peaches!!!! Thanks for the offer, I will let you know!

From leslie on Oct 02, 2008 at 18:19:02
