My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

It's nice to be running normally again.  Is that an oxymoron?  I actually said last night to my running partner, "Oh, our long runs is no big deal this weekend, it's only 6 miles."  Now for some, that really is no big deal, but for me to have 6 miles be no big deal is HUGE!!!  Anyway- big progress for me :)

Notes for today's run.  The soreness is all gone.  The tight calves are for the most part resigned to the fact that they are going to have to run and have surrendered.  1 point Marion.  The first mile of the run was not great 13:20, but the second and third were much more relaxed and natural  12:19, 11:48.  1 point Payson Main Street, 2 points Marion.  I ran at 6 am, 1 point Marion.  So as far as points go, I am ahead :)

I am hoping to get some yoga in this morning.  I really need the prana.  I am a prana junky!

Oh, and I am the first to post this morning of my running commrads.  1 more point for Marion.  (Hey- do you think I can eat these POINTS?)

You are racking up the points girl! I think you have turned the corner! When you say 6 miles is no big deal, you have become real live long distance runner! 6 mile is a walk in the park!

Do you do that Yoga today on the computer at home, or go somewhere as well? I checked that out and looked real interesting, do you put your lap top in the family room and do it?

Gotta, go, I have bleach on someones hair!!! I am so naughty to sneak away!

Yes, I do yoga at home. Just be sure to change your screen saver time on your desk top. I love that there are three different instructors who all teach different styles of yoga. It's my favorite treat!

I love being a long distance runner. It is an odd and strange feeling, but immensely empowering :)

I have been enjoying your blog. I too have lost 30 pounds in the past 3 years and kept them off (I had a 300 lb grandma, which is scary). I have many friends who have lost weight, found running, one of whom is running 7:30 minute miles right now. She was never active in high school, has 4 kids and is 38. It is empowering to run! Slow, fast, long or short. It's awesome. Thanks for sharing your runs!

Congrats on the weight loss! It can be a bugger to lose, but ever so worth it! Running is ROCK on awesome!!!

Great job with all those points! I'm pretty sure Brent will be issuing some commando points for you as well. About 50, I should say.

So you are a barefooter?! How often to you run barefoot? I am so happy to find someone else. I feel so all alone! I just barely started. So far I've had a lot less complaints from my knees and hips. But I have broken a couple of toes too. Hmmm. Time will tell if I'm ahead on the injury tally.

From marion on Jun 20, 2008 at 10:10:56

No no no.. I haven't run barefooted, I have never heard of that before your blog. I just never wear shoes unless I am running ;) How do you do it? I know that sounds like a stupid question, but I'd like to try it.
