My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

Kim and I ran on the most wonderful trail EVER!!!  We got onto the canal road by Springlake Elementary and ran into Santaquin.  It was a slight down hill for the first half and then a slight up hill back ;)  The road was great.  Nothing like the portion that goes through Salem.  It is shady nearly the whole way.  This is going to be one of our new favorites!  Hopefully we can run it a few more times before it gets too wet.  It will be a muddy mess this spring.  We've gone on it for less than a mile before, but never 4 miles one way.  I am so glad we decided to try it today.  Yee Haw!!!  The run felt really great.  I took 12 oz gatorade and 4 jolly ranchers.  I am glad I did.  I get panicky if I don't know where I am going or if there is water.  There was the canal the whole way, but I am not keen on contracting Campylobacter jejuni (seriously bad diarrhea from creek water, unrelated to giardia)!  Good times!

I hope everyone is enjoying their tapers.  I am, cause it is putting me higher on the mileage board than I have ever been!  Woo HOO!!!  Have a great party weekend!!!

Congrats on running the 8 miles!! I'll have to try jolly ranchers sometime. Do they help?

From barry on Sep 26, 2008 at 12:37:08

You are funny. Also, that is why i am toward the top of the mileage. Also, when you start running 60 miles a week, it kinda hurts a little. So be prepared, but just remember pain is our friend.. :)

Deborah- I LOVE the jolly ranchers. I can's stand gu, so I just bring a bunch and suck on them the whole time, and it works beautifully.

Barry- We are so cool! I never knew about the mileage board and then when I did find out about it, I hated it cause I was always at the bottom. Now I am loving the taper, cause I am actually on the second page. You are near the top! YOU ROCK!!!

Leslie- Thanks :)

Awesome as always! I can not wait until next year when you are here with the rest of us!!!

I weighed in for this month today and they DID give me all of the stuff from the beginning of the year after a little coaxing! They only gave me the start stuff and then weeks 1, 2, and 3---so i have to go back to get the other 3 weeks from them. I found some good recipes in the new stuff, though! Now, to get my butt back on the program---after these miles are gone I am in big trouble!

From marion on Sep 26, 2008 at 15:35:38

GREAT Kelli! I am glad they gave you your stuff :) You will need all that info after the marathon ;) Only weeks 1-5 are new this year. 1-3 are the most important and I am glad you have them :)

From Kelli on Sep 26, 2008 at 15:53:16

Oh, she said 1-6 were new! AND YES!!!!! I will need them very soon! No more f this earning 20 activity points a day!

Marion, Way to go with the miles. I love finding trails that are fun to run. I hope you can run it a few more times this year! I have a goal to run one of my favorite trails on the 11th. I will have to try the jolly ranchers.
