My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

Nice morning.  The first 2 miles and the last one were the worst  The rest felt really good.  A cute black lab ran with me about 4 of the miles.  I thought he might get killed by passing cars.  Then I was worried that I might get killed by drivers mad at me about the dog running all over the road.  We both made it.  OOOOOoooooooo dead snakes!  I saw two.  I don't like snakes AT ALL and had the heebie jeebies for a while after each sighting.  YUCK!!!!  Dead snakes can not be a good omen!

Oh- I tried the hat, and my husband agreed with me that all the hats in the world will not make me look like Kerri Walsh.  He actually did not say a word, just giggled a bit when I told him that I didn't think the hat helped with my Kerri impression :)  Reguardless of how the hat made me look, it worked like a DREAM!!!  I am going to get a visor today.  The hat was great but the top of my head was all sweaty and itchy.  I am glad I tried it!  No more sun blindness :D YEAH!!!  Oh and Michelle- my neighbor loves the idea of us wearing the "uniforms" for halloween ;)

Have a great day and great races tomorrow!  I will be at the Hobble Creek finish in a green, blue and yellow tie dyed t-shirt & a FRB poster.  See you there!!!

The other day Tom and I rode up Hobble Creek so I could get a feel of what the roads are like and a LIVE snake slithered across the road right in front of us! I have to run that road tomorrow! I would MUCH rather see TWO or TWENTY SEVEN DEAD SNAKES rather than ONE LIVE ONE going across MY TOES! There will be no snakes, there will be no snakes, there will be no snakes!

Great job on 6 miles today! (I mean 6.01 miles! :))

Hehehe... I take it you didn't respond to your husband's giggles with a "well you don't look like Phelps either" :)

Nice mileage Marion! I'll be there in spirit cheering on the runners with you!

No- I didn't, cause I was laughing pretty hard too :) He's so irritating, he REALLY does not care what my body looks like (or his for that matter) He is perfectly happy in his own skin and cannot even immagine why I would ever want to look any different. It's a VERY good trait, for sure, but I SO don't get how he can be so content. I am ALWAYS wanting to change something. Men... I suppose I will never get them. Although, it would drive me CRAZY if he was like me. The poor guy can't win!!! :D

You are doing so great coming off of your injury!! Good work, I so wish i had your determination (and spunk, and funny bone, and happy attitude).

I like hats, so you let me know about the visor. I have never tried one, but maybe it would be less sweaty.

I hope so- I really hate washing my hair everyday :(
