My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

PG rated blog today ;)

For those of you who have not met me, I have the flattest bum in the WHOLE world.  Seriously, pancakes have more shape!  I would love to have a cute perky bum.  Well, when I run I NEVER feel any muscles in my bum, other people who I run with do, but I never do.  Well today MY I COULD FEEL MY BUM MUSCLES!  Do you think I can "grow" a cute bum?  I am SO excited!

Oh and by the way- the run was great today.  52 degrees, Kim R along and the sun shining!  The legs are feeling good.  The first mile and a half were CRAP, but then the bod woke up and the rest were good times :D

You had an AWESOME day!!!

Love how strong you were the last mile!! Just tell yourself 100 times before you go to sleep each night, "I have the cutest, perkiest, fit in my jeans just perfectly, tusharoo!" 100 times each night ... it's guaranteed to work! :)

Seriously, nice job today!!

You are a ROCKSTAR!! What a week you are having, I can't wait to see your total miles for the week! PLUS all the cross training, you are on a roll. I can tell you were lovin' it this morning!! Hope the rest of your day is as great!!

grow a bum......??? hey, too small is better than too big. I actually have the same problem I wouldn't mind a little junk in the back of my trunk, it's the rest of the body I need to get rid of!

From Metcalf Running on Sep 11, 2008 at 13:51:15

Marion,

Trust me you will get a good bum! Not tooting my horn, but my husband says I have a great one since I started running. I think it has gotten too big, but he likes it more, and he is a leg man :)

Lori

By the way great miles :)

From Kelli on Sep 11, 2008 at 13:58:29

Okay, you totally can grow a bum. I do not have much of one either, but I had a personal trainer earlier this year for 12 weeks and I grew a bum (I have since lost it). You need to do tons of lunges and squats, and when I say tons I mean TONS!!! You need to not be able to feel your legs when you are done.

From marion on Sep 11, 2008 at 14:02:58

I thought I'd have to do somehting hard to get a real bum :( I was hoping that if I got skiny enough, the love handles would disapear and a cute bum would appear ;)

From Sasha Pachev on Sep 11, 2008 at 14:03:19

They do not measure your bum at the end of a race to determine your finishing position. When you train, it will optimize its dimensions for faster running for your body type.

From Kelli on Sep 11, 2008 at 14:06:09

It wasn't hard, it just happened! However, I had to quit the trainer because my legs were so dead I could not run. So, bum or run? You have to pick.

I actually think the people who win races probably have no bum, so you are in good shape.

From marion on Sep 11, 2008 at 14:15:45

Sasha- it's a very good thing they don't measure bums :) Having a cute bum is just a stupid vanity thing that will never be realized. I'd rather have a sub 24 5k :D

From Megan on Sep 11, 2008 at 21:57:50

Hi Marion. Can you grow a cute bum, too cute, lol. I have a huge bum, you can have some of mine.

Anyways, awesome workout... and you even got your yoga in:)

Thanks for your comment earlier... If I qualify for Boston, I will go eventually but i don't know if I'll be able to afford the trip right now.

From marion on Sep 11, 2008 at 23:47:33

Meg- good luck with your BQ- your times are GREAT. Thanks for noticing the yoga. It is my magic pill. If I do it- the world is a better place. If I don't do it, I think my prana turns rogue and reaps all kinds of havoc! :) My husband thinks I'm a prana junkie :D I should say, I am a "corectly flowing" prana junkie. I should sleep now, before I start into how much I hate the breath of fire!

Wow, you are amazing. Great day of working out. I am still amazed at how much you all do in a single day. I ran 5 miles today and feel like a Champ, but you guys bike and do yoga, and walk, etc. you Inspire me!! I love the comment from Kelli, Run or Bum, CLASSIC!! I have no bum either, each child took a little more and a little more. I think my hips spread and it just kind of caved in. Good times.

Run or Bum......... Run or Bum......... Run or Bum...........

From marion on Sep 12, 2008 at 12:15:39

You ARE a champ for 5 miles! You are so fast! I am working so hard to catch up with all you speedsters:) I'll be ok with no bum! I choose the RUN!!! You are right- I think the bum has just become swallowed up into the great beyond!
