My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

Running - 5.56 miles   This was not a great run.  My legs felt horrible for the first half and then the rest of me followed suit!  I walked for a while and contemplated lying down on the road in the sun.  I tried running some more and felt faint.  I started to "pull to the left" as I was walking.  I wonder if I am getting an ear infection.  Kim ran home and got the car to pick me up.  We'd planned for 6, oh well.

I might go for a bike ride later if I perk up.  The laundry is done and the house is somewhat straightened, so I am just going to curl up on the couch and rest until the kids get out of school.  I need to get to the Good EArth for some food.  I am going to try Quinoa.  I hope I like it.  It's supposed to be so good for you- right Rachel?

Biking????  29 minutes =2.44 running miles ????

I am glad Kim rescued you!!! The couch idea is a winner!! I really like Quinoa, I use it in place of pasta, it looks alittle funky, but tastes great. I think you ought to skip the biking, you have been working so hard, a break might be just what your body wants. Rest up so you can run Sat!!!!

Marion the machine! You work out so much, you deserve a break and a shake.

Hey, I read last night in Runners World that for every 3.5 miles you bike it equals 1 mile of running. AND, if you are biking at the same intensity as you would for running, it is just as good for you and will benefit your running. GOOD GIRL YOU!

Hope you start feeling better.

I grind a bunch of different grains and seeds for my bread, quinoa is one of them. I'll be interested to hear what you do with it! :)

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling great. Take care of yourself!

I like quinoa. I hope you do, too. Did you get the recipe I sent you by private message a few days ago?

I hope you get feeling better, I think sometimes you need to listen to your body. Take a rest, you have been training so hard.

Thanks ladies :) I have been curled up on the couch with my big comfy quilt watching Cars all morning. I am feeling better.

Rachel, I did get your recipe- I thought I replied. I am going to make it this weekend. Today, I am craving pearl barley.

I think sugar is a culprit for me. I love it, but I really think with all of this training, it has turned on me. I can't work myself this hard (yes, this is hard for me ;) and eat too much garbage. Garbage in, Garbage out! Quinoa in... what out? Just kidding, I must be feeling better, my sence of humor is returning. If only I could learn to spell!!

Hope you are doing better today! I'm looking forward to meeting you tomorrow.

Does that mean you DON'T want me to bring some Italian chocolate for you?

From marion on Oct 10, 2008 at 11:33:14

You better bring the chocolate!! Maybe hot chocolate! :) We are going to FREEZE!!!! :D
