My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

Tough run this morning.  My calves were VERY tight.  I stopped and stretched a few times in the first mile.  The rest was fine and felt great aside from the MIGRAINE!!  Anyway, I would love to be running right now actually :)  I find at about 30 miles a week, I want to run more.  Go figure :)  I can't run more though, or I will hurt myself!

I am officially addicted to peaches!  We have a Diamond Princess tree and the peaches are DIVINE!!  I am eating so many peaches :),  I may turn into a peach :D

My brain is spaghetti, so I'd better get on the bike and get that done.  I really need a nap.  The boys are playing with play dough right now.  Maybe I should sneak in a nap :)

That's amzing that you could even consider taking a nap while your kids are playing with play-dough. If I did that, they'd probably find a way to sneak it into my ear or something.

Very very tough, Marion. Running with a migraine? Wanting to run more than 30 miles? Your inner Goddess must be tough--like Athena, rather than that sissy Aphrodite.

From marion on Sep 29, 2008 at 17:39:32

Thanks Lybi! I know, leaving the kids was not a great idea for a clean house, but a great idea for a peaceful nap :) I actually got them to watch a video while I napped on the couch :D Will (2) fell asleep too :) Bonus- I got a nap and so did the baby :D

My inner goddess is feeling a bit hammered today. The house is a disaster and I want ANOTHER nap. I think I will clean and then go on my bike ride with my husband after dinner. Yoga tonight during tv :) I dont have it in me for much this afternoon.

From leslie on Sep 29, 2008 at 17:42:21

I think another nap is in order. Kill the migrane!!Maybe you should skip the bike and relax!! Take good care of yourself!

From marion on Sep 29, 2008 at 17:48:30

DON'T Tempt me les! :) I am tired of feeling tired. The only time I don't feel tired is when I EAT THE WORLD!!! I can't eat the world or I will NEVER lose the weight I want too. I am going to turn up the music and get myself moving. I've got to MOVE it MOVE it!!!

From leslie on Sep 29, 2008 at 18:22:56

Okay, move it move it! It is now 4:20 and I am still be a good little ww girl. Drinking tons of water and no junk yet (except 2 red vines) And, Maurine and I are going to try and do a 3 miler tonight. I like a nap, hope I can get thru this day without blowing it.

From marion on Sep 29, 2008 at 19:06:59

Yeah Les! me too! I have been good all day. I am going to make spaghetti & breadsticks for dinner. I will b very good. I'm having a peach for dessert. OOOoooo I have to peee!!! too much h2o!!!

From Kelli on Sep 29, 2008 at 19:22:03

Way to go on your CONSISTENT working out. you are like a well oiled machine, even with a headache.

Okay, I have to add that I am also having a perfect WW day today. I did sneak in a mini mounds bar, but it fit in my points and was my one treat for the day. i have 5 points left, plus some work-out points. We are having tacos for dinner and they are only 4 points, so i am in good shape to even get a little dessert (not a peach, unless it is with some frozen yogurt??)

From marion on Sep 29, 2008 at 19:31:45

Yeah! We are all having a GREAT day :) Woo Hooo!!!! I LOVE those mound thingys! DAvid brought me home one of those 10 pks from walmart. He left the room for 10 min and they were all gone! He was shocked and a bit discusted! Oh well. He should know me well enough by now that I cannot be trusted with chocolate! :D Sorry about all of the typos!

From leslie on Sep 29, 2008 at 21:28:16

Yeah for us! I ended up doing another 3 miles tonight and then had speghetti with ground turkey, no pasta, and a green salad and fruit for dessert! This is the best day I have had in quite a while. It helps to report to the mother blog!!! Keep it up Kelli and Marion, lets report back tomorrow!!!

From britta on Sep 29, 2008 at 22:46:21

I wish I had a peach tree. They have been much better from the grocery store lately. Is it peach season?

I get migraines. They are the worst. I can't believe you were able to run with one. Mine always make me puke! YUCK!

From Teena on Sep 29, 2008 at 23:37:10

Marion ... you are such a peach!! It had to be said!!

(Sorry about the migraine.)

From marion on Sep 30, 2008 at 00:41:11

Britta- Peaches have a long season. There are early, mid and late season peaches. My tree is late and well worth it. :)

My migraines used to have me in bed for days. I've had them since I was 14. After I started doing yoga, lost 80 lbs and started running, the pain has dramatically decreased. I am not sure what has changes them or if I am just better able to deal with them. I still have a major aversion to light and get really nauseous and groggy. I just figure that i can lay in bed and want to die or I can feel the same way and get my run in ;)

Thanks Teena :) I am starting to grow peach fuzz :)

Les and Kelli- I did not have dessert :) Peach Cobbler with ice cream. I drank water and blogged :) Oh and I did get my bike ride and yoga in :) Yeah me, yeah you! :D

From Jodi on Sep 30, 2008 at 07:51:24

You Are Incredible!! I've never had migraines but have been around people who have....I can't imagine them ever running/biking/yogaing??(is that a word).

From Lucia on Sep 30, 2008 at 10:25:35

Whassup with the migraines lately, spaghetti peach amazon girl? Have you been hydrating properly? Taking in enough electrolytes? A friend of mine introduced me to Nuun tablets - they have very little calories, a very light taste, and you can take them anywhere and put them in water and voila, you have your electrolyte fix! They sell them at REI and running stores sometimes. Anyway - I just think you've had a few migraines these past few weeks and maybe your body is trying to tell you something... listen in!

From marion on Sep 30, 2008 at 11:36:44

You are absolutely right Lucia! I am reacting to something. My allergies have been horrible so I have been taking allergy meds which cause dehydration. This is usually tolerable but I have way upped my exercise. This also taxes other aspects of me- electrolytes etc. All of that coupled with MASSIVE stress puts me over the edge. Migraines are my body's way of saying, UNCLE!!! It is rarely one thing, but usually a combination of 3 or more. I haven't had this many migraines in a row since I quit nursing Will. I am going to go find those Nuun tablets. I've also used the Mama's Calm which helps with the calves :)

From Snoqualmie on Sep 30, 2008 at 11:45:41

You are doing great, Marion. Hang in there and try to relax. Make sure you're getting enough water too. Good luck with getting more naps! That was my only Disney Abuse when mine was little-- Little Mermaid was just long enough for me to get restored. lol

From marion on Sep 30, 2008 at 11:57:41

Hey Sno- My doc and I joke that dvd's were made for that purpose alone, to give mom the little nap they need here and there to make it through the day. :) Dvd's are also for those 5am kids who can't sleep in to save their lives :)

From britta on Sep 30, 2008 at 14:45:55

You are incredible! It has got to take mental strength to workout through a Migraine. Keep it up!

From marion on Oct 04, 2008 at 15:15:13

Either mental stength or I am NUTS ;D
