Short-Term Running Goals:

 I want to run a 1/2 Marathon before April 29th 2009, my 40th birthday.

10k in under an hour

I want to run 40 miles a week. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run a marathon between April 29th, 2009 and April 28th, 2010 for my 40th Year :)

1/2 Marathon in under 2 hours

Marathon in under 4 hours

To finish in a single number (1-9) in my age division ;) I did this at Onion Days 5K 2008- I placed 8th!  Yeah!!!

I want to finish in the top 5 of my age division :D

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

There were very cute cows out today in the canyon.  There was this stern looking bull who we avoided as best we could.  I used Kim as a human shield in case he charged!

I am fully addicted to running DOWN the canyon!  I was afraid that I'd be sore after yesterdays speedy sprint, but my legs are OK.  They really didn't like the second half, they started to cramp up and get a bit tight.  I'll just keep moving today and they should be fine!

Well I am off to the temple and then to my brothers to swim and BBQ! Have a GREAT day and keep it cool! ;)

Glad you had a nice downhill run. Try some extra gatorade on some of those runs to see if the extra electrolytes help when the quads are trashed.

Ok- seriously- I am having major electrolyte problems. Will gatorade help? Is there anything else?

I would first try gatorade or powerade - starting about one hour in. I actually like gatorade endurance formula - you can usually find it in powder formula at running stores.

Another thing to try are S Caps or E Caps - with electrolytes and salt in them. There are several brands and you can take them with water.

YAHOO! I love running down the canyon too!!!! Please tell me when the Foxes are having another down hill 5k, I will rearrange me life and sign up, I will make you and Kim look good! I would be happy with 3rd place, if there were just the 3 of us, if Maurine came, I would be happy with 4th place!!! I could brag to all my non running friends that I placed 4th over all and 1st place in my age group!!!!

I am waiting for you to post your goals and see what your focus is this week. I am addicted to reading your blog and following your progress, you go!!!!
