My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

Alright- KimR is the speedy one. I could not move it at all for the first half.  I was sluggish and pokey.  KimR had to stay home cause she wasn't feeling well this morning :(  The first half was pretty slow and tar like.  The second half was a bunch better.  The only hard part about running the shorter distances, is that I start to feel better, just as it's time to stop.

Hey I saw Kim and Tom running down the canyon this morning.  I recognized the St. Geo t-shirt on Tom before I recognized Kim.  I almost yelled "hel-ooooo, fastrunning blogger,"  until I realized I could actually greet them by name.  Cool to see fellow fastrunningbloggers.  Although, I sort of feel like the token slow guy on the blog.  Kind of like affirmative action for running blogs.

Tomorrow KimR and I are going to do our long run down the canyon.  Nothing fancy, super slow and cooler and DOWNHILL :)

Tom was actually wearing a Hobble Creek 1/2 marathon shirt, but it is similar to the SG FRB look. It's always hard to recognize people when we are out running, so I'm glad we recognized each other! Way to get out there even when Kim R couldn't make it! Have a tiggerific day!

I look forward to reading your blog every morning. You are hilarious! (I'm sure I'll be chuckling about the "affirmative action for running blogs" comment all day.) You're doing awesome. Keep up the good work and your great attitude.

Marion you were running well this morning. Great job getting out!

Hey don't worry about your pace at this point, consistency and getting in some miles ideally 6 days a week is the key! Once you develop/perfect that habit over weeks, months and years, you'll be amazed how much faster and fitter you'll find you've become.

There are so many really, REALLY fast runners on this blog it's easy to feel like a turtle among hares. When I first joined the blog I felt the same way, heck I STILL feel that way anytime I read Sasha's or Clyde's or any other dozens of blogs of all the super speedsters.

BTW there are plenty of other folks on the blog (both men and women) who are at a very similar point as you so you certainly aren't the only "token"!! Keep up the great work!

Thanks Tom!

I really do feel good about my progress. 2 years ago I couldn't run more than a minute at a time. About a year ago I could finally run for 30 min straight. Now I can run for 2+ hours straight :) I'm also not getting injured as frequently anymore. This blog has just opened up a whole new world to me. It is SO wonderful to see so many runners at so many different levels of training. I am truly in awe most of the time. For the most part, I find it all very inspirational and for those times when I find it discouraging, I just remind myself where I started; fitness level 0, 82 lbs heavier and I couldn't even walk my easy 2.5 mi loop.

I am SUPER glad I found this blog, I really feel it is the tool I need to move to the next level and beyond!

Thanks again for your encouraging words- ALL of you who are so kind and supportive of me!!!

Marion, You have been so consistant! I think you are doing great, I agree with Tom, just keep getting up every morning and running! I am hoping to go out again today, my milage for the week is super low. Don't you feel like one of the popular girls running into all these people? You are such a social butterfly!

I am doing my long run tomorrow, my group will still be at Girls camp, so I am doing it alone, I am scheduled to do 8. How long is your run tomorrow? A canyon run sounds GREAT!!!
