I woke up at 7 and had a chocolate banana smoothie.  I went to Orem for a meeting and then rushed back to meet Michelle for the time trial.  We did a short warm up and stretch and then rant the onion days 5k route backwards.  The first mile was ok.  Mile two was tough and mile three was a bugger :p  This was the closest to throwing up that I have ever come :)  We ran home and that was HARD.  I am hoping to get another mile in today.

Oh, this is a BIG pr for me :)  I was shooting for a sub 29.  I am very excited about it.  It is also my first 8 mm mile in a "race."

Thanks girls :)

I just fixed my place :) I think Michelle beat me, but she was a bandit ;)

From MichelleL on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 16:03:45 from 207.224.206.124

I was a "pacer". You guys would be even more proud if you saw how she fought through her last mile. I'd make her give me five and harass her until she did. She did awesome. It also shows her effort in her splits. She is a no-risk, negative split kind of girl, but today she was feeling good and laid it all down. She earned her devils food cake (in two weeks). I vote to put the coconut on the cake ;D

I don't even have words for you Michelle! You are REMARKABLE and the BEST friend ever!!! You kicked my TRASH today and drug every last second out of me :) xoxoxoxo

I can't wait to eat that cake with you next sudnay :) I think the coconut looks good too :)

From marion on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 17:23:09 from 71.213.120.94

Sorry for tempting you "no sugar" girls :) I suppose I should not tell you that for my post race snack, I put peanut butter with chocolate chips in the microwave. I mixed it all up really well and then dipped pretzels in it :) It's the perfect protein/carb/CHOCOLATE combination :)

Mac- we will bring you a piece of cake :) You know, you and your family could join us for our Valentines day sugar bash!! :) We'd love to have you. My hot little Valentine is working, so Michelle is going to have to share Paul with me :)

From seeaprilrun on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 18:44:56 from 205.172.12.229

YEAH MARION! Way to run, way to PR, way to drop the fast first mile and go for it! You are staging a nice comeback!

From Bonnie on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 20:49:27 from 128.196.228.134

This awesome Marion -- I would bet you could run even faster with others around you too ... maybe a "pink women" time trial!

From TylerS on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:10:14 from 63.248.32.71

Marion, you are awesome!! Love that you and Michelle help each other so well. It is truly inspirational. I have read your blogs over the year and you two have really helped one another and others thru your examples. Way to go on the PR 5K. I see future PRs a comin' : D. PS that PB and chocolate chip dip will taste great, thanks for the idea. I am taking my free day today.

From marion on Sun, Feb 07, 2010 at 11:50:01 from 71.213.120.94

Julie- you speak the truth. Michelle has been an angel in my life, running and otherwise. Beware of the peanut butter chocolate thing. It is good. Fruit is good dipped in it too :)
