Bike ride in the BEAUTIFUL overcast, slightly drizzling PERFECT 70 degree out door air.  I am just hoping that I can keep from getting hit or crash before this marathon.  I just need everything to go along in our usual boring plain simple way for 2 weeks.  No family crisis, no accidents or injuries, NOTHING... boring usual ;D

I hope you all are doing well :)  Lots of love :)  xoxoxoxo

MissB- are you ever going to leave a coment?  ;)

Beautiful  morning!  Clear clean air.  Perfect temps :)  It was 57 when I started :D

I am off to the Doc :)  Have a GREAT day :)

**Everything was great at the doc.  All of my blood work, so far, was a-1 perfect EXCEPT my HDL's!  They were SUPER low... in the WARNING range!!!  I am so irritated.  It must be genetic.  My cholesterol ratio was still good becasue my tri's and ldl's are so low.  I just can't believe it.  Anyway, I am now going to take supplements of my omega 3's and we'll check it out next year.  ARG!!!  Oh- my iron was fine, so a month on supplements seems to have done the trick or I wasn't too bad in the first place.  The rest of my results will be back next week.  The ekg was perfect, except the super low heart rate, WHICH WAS AWESOME!!!!.  It was 53, nervous and moving around.  My bp was great too, 100 over 60.

Nice casual bike ride.  My footsies are still wining at me, so I thought a ride would be FUN!  I ran into a good friend and chatted with her for a while.  We are going to meet tomorrow for another bike ride :) and then a run on Friday :)  I am so excited to have an exercise partner :)

I woke up at 5am and decided to take a run to make sure the legs still work ;)  I ran 4 miles nice and slow :)  I then met JoyceLynn for a ride.  I had NO idea that we would be gone than long.  It was an AWESOME challenging ride.  I am going to do that with her for the rest of the summer after the marathon.  Killer up hill.. well a lot of it and then KILLER down hill and a good share of it was flatish.  With two days of biking and two days of swimming AND 4 days of running, I should be ready for the tri by September.  I want to increase my fittness, but not do too many running miles this summer.

Have a great day.  I am falling asleep :)

Alright- I got up at 6 and went for a swim.  I got six laps in with "regulation" strokes and then it was kick board time with  bouts of back stroke and breast stroke.  I am a WIMP!!  After 20 minutes, I "hopped" (more like dragged) myself out and went into the lazy river for a run.  WELL.. if you think I am a toe runner on land, it is 100 times worse in the pool.  So I marched, heel toe, as fast as I could.  I passed the "saunter" ladies and they asked how I could "run" in the pool.  I giggled.  I guess my march could have been construed as a run ;)  I was there for 30 minutes and it felt like a good 3 to 4 mile effort.  Running is WAY easier than swimming!  I am going to kick my bum in gear though.  I was going to swim just 2 days a week, but I am going to do at least 3.  I will not let my former friend, the pool, stab me in the back like this.  I shall will her back, we will be BEST friends again!

I am not sure my run will happen today.  I may go when David gets home. We had to pick up Ashley last night at EFY at BYU.  She is really sick.  We took er straight to the doctor.  She has Influenza A.  As required by law, the doctor is sending her swabs in to the powers at be for further testing.  We sent three of the kids away- they never came in any contact with Ash.  The two little ones were "around" her a little and we are keeping them here.  We can't chance that they might have been exposed.  She is quarantined for 10 days.  We have masks, gloves and gallons of hand sanitizer, bleach, lysol and Tide with bleach.  The doc put her on Tamiflu and hopefully she will be feeling better in a few days.  There were a bunch of other sick kids at EFY too.  They just gave Ash Tylenol, had her rest a bit and then if she felt better, they sent her to the activities.  SO hundreds of kids were exposed!!  I am SO mad.  She most likely was exposed the first 24 hours she was there.  Typical incubation is 2 days, but any where from 1-5 has been seen.  The Doc called the powers at be at EFY and hopdfully they handeled it.  Can you imagine 1,000's of kids going home to 1,000's of families ALL going to church tomorrow???  I am totally FREAKED OUT!!!  Anyway....

Oh yeah, I am trying not to think a bout the marathon on Saturday... in one week... one week from RIGHT NOW!!!

Oh yeah- my dad is sick again.  They are not sure if he is having a heart attack, just swelling around the heart or a bad graft.  Any hoots....  I am off to sanitize more parts of my house and find ways to entertain little boys and nurse a 14 year old back to health.

** Went out and ran 8 miles when David got home.  The temps were perfect and there was a GREAT breeze.  I am so glad I got to get out.  I was driven to go, the need to be out and NOT IN THE HOUSE!!  Ash is doing ok and the boys are in BED!  Victory!!!  David is off to get me a sugar fee shave ice :)

I am SO glad I got my run in last night.  I was worried I had forgotten how to run :)  All is well here,  Ash is still feeling pretty darn bad.  I miss my kids that are gone :(

Plans for the week... 5 tomorrow, then 4,3,2 off then MARATHON!!!  or should it be 2 days off then marathon???  I will look up some marathon plans and see.  Ashley has my computer for her use, so I really don't want to check out my plan that is on that computer ;)

Happy Sunday! xoxoxoxoxo

** I looked up some taper weeks, I am going to run 3,4,off,2,off, MARATHON.  YIKES!!!!

Beautiful run with beautiful Joycelyn :)  I was hoping for 4 but my left knee, inside, started to hurt about 1.3 miles into the run so we walked the rest of the way.  I tried running a few more times and it still hurt.  I am going to ice it and take ibuprofin.  It is probably nothing.  Any ideas?  I am going to stay low all week.  I will probably go on walks, but I want what ever is mad in my knee to get over it for Saturday.  We are almost there.

Becasue of a series of unfortunate events, my family will not be there on Saturday :(:::::::  David is going to try to get to the finish, but that could be tricky.  Hopefully Maurine or Kelli  will have their cells and we can call him about 5 miles in, so he can pop over.  I cried a bunch on Friday when I found out they weren't coming.  Hopfully by Saturday I wont be so upset about it.  At the moment it still makes me cry.  Poor me :(::::::::::::::::

I have to say I am enjoying sleeping in :)  I am pooped.  Still not sick :)  Ashley was feeling much better yesterday :)  Yeah!  all of this kids are back.  The doc said that with everything we are doing to prevent the spread of the illness, the kids should be safe.  He said he'd bring his kids home if he were doing what we are doing. :)

Have a great day!  I'd go for a bike ride but I am afraid to crash.  I wish I had a stationary bike.  There is little chance I would crash on that! ;)

Still not sick :)  It looks like we are going to call David at mile 21 and then he will come to the finish line :)  I am SO grateful for his job.... I'll just leave it at that ;)  Work is good, job is good, money is good :D

My left foot is still bugging me which makes me afraid to run on it. I keep thinking it is nothing, but what if it is the begining of a stress fracture and there are just 26.2 miles left on it before I can't run on it anymore :)  How is that for a paranoid delusion?

For my activity today, I am going to clean the house like a mad woman.  I'd ride my bike but what if I crash or get hit by a car?  What if the biking caused the knee problem?  Yes, I am NUTS!!!  I may have an anxiety attack and die.  Can you die from paranoid hypochondria?  I will be SO glad for this Saturday to come :)  At least I am still sleeping :)  ....for now!!!!

Stupid migraine :(  Oh well.  I went for a little run to make sure that all is still working and it is :)  I wanted to go further, but the nausea from the headache said "GO HOME!!"  I obeyed :)  I am sure it is from the doc visit yesterday.  He was messing with my neck and I should have told him "NO!!!"  Anyway- I told David this morning that often family members bring flowers to their marathoners....HINT HINT.  We shall see :)

Hey, for anyone who can make it, we are going to meet at 6:20pm at the packet pick up and then go to The Brick Oven for dinner Friday night (~7:15).  By "we" I mean, Maurine, Luz (maybe, probably, hopefully ;) and Anna Lisa (most likley).  Anyone else who'd like to come is VERY WELCOME!  Just let me know and I will PM you my cell.  Maurine and I are meeting at 4:45am for the buses.

Oh, my homemade pocket may not be great.  It rides my shorts pretty low in the back and bounces a ton.  I am going to see if my seamstress neighbor will help me make some real pockets in the sides.  I need something to carrry all of my 1,000,000 gu's.  Yes, they are over kill, but hey, it keeps me going, even if it is placebo :)

Happy day before the day before the MARATHON!!! :)  Carb loading time!  Rest time :)  YIPPEE!!

BTW- Ashley is feeling SO much better.  She comes out of quarantine Saturday night and she is SO excited!!! :)

ONE DAY MORE!!!

Yes we are here with less than 24 hours to go!!!  I am super excited an CAN'T wait!!!  So far, NOT SICK!  I have woken up with a head ache every day this week, stress, I am sure.  I had a GREAT carbo loading day yesterday and have started out today with some GREAT tasting carbs!  Whoo Hoo!!!

Good luck to everyone who is racing.  Be sure to say HI to me.  My shirt has the St George Running center on the front with my name across the top.  (It is a white T shirt)  The back has the Fast Running Blog on the top with "26.2 VIRGIN" on the bottom.  I will have a hot pink visor on and a BEAUTIFUL sherpa, named Maurine, Miles for short.  I am wearing black shorts.  I will be coming in no earlier than 10:45 and hopfully no later than 11:30 ish.  My money is on 5:19 for my time :)

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Oh we are meeting tonight at the packet pick-up at 6:20ish and having dinner at The Brick Oven about 7:15.  They would not accept reservations so if you get there first, get a table for 10.  Lets use the name MILES :)  "Miles, party of 10" or should we go for "Miles, party of 26.2"?

No words to express how I am feeling.  I am getting in the ice bath and taking a nap.  Will write more later :)

xoxoxoxoxoxo

Sherpa Maurine- I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!

Sherpa Mandy- You are the best friend and sister in the WHOLE world!!!

Sherpa Kelli- Just in the nick of time to get me through the last 3 horrid miles :) xoxoxoxo

Finish Line Cheer leaders Luz, Kim, & Smooth  I love you to DEATH and your smiles made me cry even harder.

David- the roses were PERFECT and having you there was AMAZING.  You are the BEST husband in the whole world!

More to come later.  I need that Ice Bath!!!  Burrrrr.....

*** I am officially SO sore!  I need to go to Walmart, but I am afraid of my porch steps :(

Michelle- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WAITING FOR US SLOW POKES!!  You made my day to see you there.  I knew you the instant I saw you :)  Yes, even before you were waving the crutches :)  XOXOXOXOXO

We started the Marathon festivities with a trip to the Brick Oven for dinner.  Actually mine started with licorice for breakfast, then Dutch Babies for breakfast, THEN more licorice.  THEN a trip to our favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch.  My fortune cookie said, "Soon you will be very pleasantly surprised."  How's that?  Then MORE LICORICE!  Then David and I went to the temple and then we met up with the gang for dinner at Brick Oven.  Last evening the gang included, Josse, Erika, Luz, Smooth, Larry (President Smooth), Anna Lisa, Justin (Mr. Anna Lisa), David (Double D) and me.  Dinner was GREAT!  I had their fabulous homemade root beer.  It was SO tasty.  It was my first real root beer in about 3.5 years.  No diet drinks tonight :)  I got home and pretty much went straight to bed after laying all of my stuff out just as instructed my Sherpa Miles (formerly known as Tarzan, formerly known as Maurine).  I was out by 9:30pm.

I awoke at about 2:30??  I laid there between awake and asleep until about 3:30 when I figured I'd better get up, as I was going to fall all the way asleep and miss the bus.  I got ready and headed over to the buses.  I met up with Smooth, Luz and Maurine and headed onto the SLOWEST bus in all the WORLD!  It was sad really.  Anyway, we pottied and chatted with everyone and found Anna Lisa :D  ( I work with Anna Lisa and sort of talked her into this bad boy.  She was a virgin too)

The weather could not have been more perfect.  Seriously, God blessed us all with the most perfect day.  Seriously, God blessed me with the best day, period.  I know that a lot of you come to my blog because you find me a bit humorous, but in all seriousness, this run was a miracle for me and a blessing from my Father in Heaven that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Anyway... we started out and the goal was to let the hills take us down naturally with control as to not trash the quads for the FLAT :)  I loved the hills on the way down.  I warm up much better with up hills, as I run them every day.  The road was great.  I loved the course, except the last 5-6 miles.  I am not sure how that could be changed and really was fine, but HOT, UGLY, HOT, and UGLY! .. and up hill, I think...  Anyway, I will add more details later, cause I can't remember them.

Mad about NO water at mile mile 21, just the sponges :(  I was needing water and was actually starting to panic, it was weird, like I might die... anyway... I was scoping the houses for hoses and I spied a kid on a bike with a pack.  I sent Sherpa Mandy (SIL) to see if he had any water in the pack.  He did and I started to weep... really, I cried.  That is when the sperts of crying started.

OK- for Boston BUTT HEAD.  We were passing a church, I think, and there was this guy who had already finished.  He was sitting there on the lawn yelling, "I'm finished and YOUR NOT." Over and over.  It may sound really silly, but with the state of mind I was in, I wanted to go over and yell profanities and punch him.  It was like being thrown rocks at.  Anyway, that was Boston shirt guy who needs to DIE!  That was really close to the finish.  Arghh...

So the finish.  Mile 20 on was really hard.  Mile 23 on was the hardest.  Thank heavens that Mandy joined Maurine and I at mile 21.  It was something to look forward to and she had CHOCOLATE :)  I really didn't care about the Reeses, but it was new and NOT gu :)

Kelly found us at about mile... I don't know.  That was another fun distraction.  I really wanted to be done and most everything south of the shorts was not really very happy.  With a mile to go, I picked up the pace, but could not hold it for very long.  The body was finished and I had to make it hold out for a bit longer.  I cried a ton the last mile.  It was a weird cry, I am guessing because I was SO tired.  David was there and I was SO glad to see him.  Kim and Tom Lee were there to cheer me in, I bawled.  I saw Luz and bawled.  I saw Smooth and bawled.  I found Anna Lisa and bawled.  I saw Larry and bawled some more.  Are you catching my drift, I just kept crying and crying.

Now for Sherpa Miles.  Maurine is the MOST AMAZING PERSON IN THE WHOLE WORLD!  She sacrificed her marathon so that I could do this.  She seriously made my whole marathon.  She kept me on track for my gu's and gatorade, etc.  She hauled ALL of my crap in her cool super hero utility belt.  She was just plain amazing and I will be forever in her debt.  I love you, Miles!!!

I am sure I will add more tomorrow, like my splits, but for now this is all I can think of :)  Maurine has all the splits on her bog :)

%%%%  More Race report %%%%

I am SO happy with how the race went.  Miles 0-21 were fine, yes aches and pains here and there, but nothing too bad.  Even miles 21-26.2 were not horrible, I was just SO DONE.  When I mention all of the crying from mile 21 on, it was because of the realization that I was going to finish the marathon.  I was actually going to finish a goal that I had set for myself more than 3 years ago.  It was the winter of 2005-2006 and I weighed more than 250 pounds.  I had just had Will, our 6th and last child.  I was SO sick of being overweight and was ready to really change.  I had decided to join Weight Watchers, finally after years of wanting too.  I was seeing some success and decided that I would run a 5k that fall for Onion Days.  For those of you who know me, I like to plan ahead so I set a few more goals.  The next year, following the 5k, at the age of 38, I would run a 10k.  The next summer at the age of 39, I would run Hobble Creek 1/2 Marathon.  AND then for the year I was 40, I would run a full marathon.  Now please realize that I was still VERY overweight and really did not believe I could do this, especially as I ran each race.  Each race was SO hard that I could not imagine ever being able accomplish the next goal.  There really are no words to express the feelings in my heart about doing this.  I am SO glad that Kim Lee told me about this blog.  I am quite sure that you all were Gods gift to me, so I could do this.  Your tireless support and encouragement made this possible.  I have learned SO much about smart (and not so smart) training.  When I needed my long runs YOU were there for me.  Thank you all SO much.

Now more about the race.  There were these Pleasant Grove Firefighters that I had to beat.  I picked them off throughout the race.  Some were tougher than others and put up a fight.  The last two were in the last mile, but I got them, no fight.  Now raspberry girl was a different story.  She passed us in the beginning and by the end I had caught her again.  We went back and forth for a while, but I finally got her.  She ended up getting us some where near the very end, and I don't think we caught her again.  The last mile was a blur, except for STUPID tambourine volunteer and Beastly boston dude.  David said we should have asked him who he bought his shirt from :)  I wish David had been there, actually he wouldn't have done anything, I wish Scott had been there to arrest him.   Enough about Boston dude. Oh, and I passed a TON of people in the last 5 miles.  Maurine will have to verify, but we mostly passed people and were not passed by many at all during the race.

Maurine had to keep slowing me down throughout the race.  My legs really just wanted to go go go.  Only in the last 5 miles did I have to make them keep going.  They were done and now they are making me pay ;)  I will write about my pain and suffering on Sunday's report ;)

My first marathon was PERFECT.  I am so happy about EVERYTHING about it.  It was really the best day ever and I am THRILLED!!

First 5 miles: 11:50, 11:23, 11:39, 11:34. 11:50.  Miles 6-10: 11:42, 10:52, 11:34, 11:19, 12:10.  Miles 16-20: 12:08, 12:17, 12:29, 12:32, 12:01.  Miles 21-25: 12:27, 13:33, 12:36, 12:52, 12:25. Mile 26: 11:23

Oh- as I was laying in bed, the door bell rang.  It was Kellie and Tyler with the BIGGEST piece of chocolate cake I have ever seen (or eaten ;)  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!  That was SO wonderful of you to bring me the BEST cake ever.  I ate it, whipping cream first and shared some with the spry ones that live with me :)

SO SO sore ;)  Isn't that the GREATEST thing ever???  I tried to get out of church but Miles wouldn't let me :(  All day Saturday I was SO nauseated.  It was horrible.  I finally ate some salmon and felt better.  It got worse later and David grilled me more salmon and I felt better again :)  I guess that Salmon is MAGIC :D  I also think the Chocolate Cake that Kellie and Tyler brought over had some magic properties as well :D

Did all stairs backwards and went on a walk with David in the eveining :)

I walked the boys to the park and played there for a while.  The soreness was SO much better, nearly gone and I could take the stairs all regular like :)  I could get up and down from a seated position without sounding like a puppy that had just been kicked.  I needed NO help getting off of the toilet :)

I will live and I can't wait for what ever I decide to do next.....

OK- I am a total DORK!  I decided to RUN to the pool and then swim and then RUN home.  STUPID!!  First of all, by the time I got UP-HILL to the pool, I could hardly run, let alone SWIM!  Plus, have you ever tried running in a swimming suit?  Can you say WEDGIE!!!!  More like COSMIC WEDGIE!!!  Anyway, I swam and swam and swam!  I swam for a 1/2 hour.  I swam REAL LIVE regulation strokes!  I CAN SWIM!!! :D  So, now I am all psyched for the Tri this september.  I need a new swimming suit, but that is a story for another day.

Soreness report- everything felt fine on the run, a little rickety and tender, but not too bad.  My right hip/ITB is still quite sore and inflamed.  I am going to continue to stretch and roll it out.  The chiropractor who stretched me out after the marathon said that my right IT was so tight you could string it on a guitar and play a song.

Tomorrow I am not sure what I am going to do next.  I might just bike or maybe run or maybe swim or maybe all three.  I am insane afterall,  I'm a marathoner now :D

I am really trying hard to talk myself NOT into doing TOU.  There is the HUGE part of me who says, "You just need an 18 miler in July and a 20 miler in August and then just run TOU.  YOU ARE 90% there already."   Then there is the rational part of me... well the other, probably smarter rational part of me... who says, "You are very likley on the brink of injury.  Swim, bike and run easy for the rest of the summer.  Bike and run through the fall.  Run through the winter and CHILL!!!!"

The soreness is pretty much totally gone :)  My left leg is still really swollen and my right hip is uncomfortable.  My weight is coming down, but not like I would have expected.  I still must have a lot of micro injuries that are holding onto the water for repair ;)  I have not been eating nearly the fruit over the past few days, mainly just carbs and a little protein.  I am off to the store to get me some good grub.  I am sure I have been lacking in the h2o department too.  I have been really sluggish and I am sure that is due to the lack of fruit and veggies... oh and running a marathon.  I wanted to go swimming this morning at 6, but thought that the sleep was more important.  I am going to take it really easy today and see if I can get the leg swelling down a bit.  It is coming down, but VERY slowly.  As a side note, when ever I was pregnant, only my left leg would swell.  Weird eh?  It does not hurt, it's just swollen :(

The swelling is going down :)  I am getting closer to my pre-marathon weight.  I was 10#'s up on Monday and now just 3.8#'s up. My left quad is quite tender to the top and outside. I am going to keep rolling it. David and I will go swimming for an hour tomorrow morning. The ITB on the left is still sore but less tender :)  Next week I will run :)  I CANT WAIT!!  This week, I just feel deep down that no running is the best.  I have been extra tired too.

Now for the exciting news.  I just made home made granola bars.  They are SO good!  I googled a recipe that my friend had made.  They are called "Playground Granola bars."  I followed it almost exctly except I used coconut oil and I doubled it and added 1 C ground flax seed meal,  and an extra egg.  Oh, I didn't have any rasins so I added chocolate chips :)  They are so GOOD!!  I need to stay away from them :)  I am going to lighten them up next time.  I will use dried cherries, mini chocolate chips, applesause for 1/2 of the oil and splenda brown sugar.  Today I did use Lehi Roller Mills 6 grain cereal instead of oats and whole wheat flour instead of white.  Mmmmm.....

Does anyone know why karob chips may be better than regular chocolate?

David and I went swimming this morning for 45 minutes :)  I did great, by comparison two the last two times :)  I even did some butterfly.  I am going to work on it and get better this year.  I can't wait to get running next week.  I am concerned that I have a bit of an injury in my left quad.  The swelling is virtually gone.  6.6#'s down since monday.  By next week everything should be good.  I am going to call Dr Brady today and see if I can get in this afternoon or Monday after work.  I'd wait until monday, but it is getting worse each day and not better :(

Today I am going to make the lighter version of the granola bars.  I am off to my Melting Marion blog to blog the antics of my points disaster yesterday :(

Well, I for sure have strained my left quad :(  I am guessing the soreness was masking the injury.  My fatal error was running early in the week and not realizing that my poor quad was hurt :(  The poor fellow.  I have been icing it and staying off of it for the last 20 hours and I will do more of the same tomorrow.  If it is not feeling somewhat better by Monday I will go in.  No wonder my left leg was so swollen.  All of the rubbing and stretching right after the marathon just aggravated it.  I needed ice and rest and I was beating it up.  Also the Aleve and tylenol was also masking the injury :(  Live and learn.  Once it is no longer painful to the touch and causing me to limp, I can swim and bike.

Here are my goals for the rest of the summer :)

Sub 29 5k

Sub 60 10k

September tri

Within the year

2:0_ 1/2 marathon

next marathon sub 5

The reason for the Tri is to give my body a nice rebuiding/healing 8 weeks without losing fitness and while having a fun goal.  I have to set "fun" goals, as I tend to really freak out and stress, over stress really, and the "fun" aspect takes my mind off of the "freaky" parts and helps me to relax.  I am working on a training schedule in excel.  I will bike 2 days a week with Joycelyn (13+miles) and swim 3 days (1 hour).  I will run 6 days, 1 long, one 5 miler w/ a 5k tempo, 3 easy/low mile days, and one day I have not figured out.  I may do a run down the canyon one day a week.

Patience is not one of my best qualities :(  The quad is not happy with me.  It really likes it when I do nothing at all.  I wrapped it tight and it seems to like that :)  I want to go swimming in the morning, but I don't want to get it all mad at me again.  Why can't I go back to the days when I was happy to just lay around and not do any form of activity???  (I am kidding ;)   I will never go back to 255# Marion again!!!!!!!!!!!  (is that enough exclamation points?)

Relax, chill, enjoy, chill some more, relax.... breath deeply :)

Have a GREAT week everyone!

35 minutes swimming.  15 minutes without my legs and 20 with gentle leg :)  The quad felt much better this morning.  I will bandage it again and see what happens :)  Hopefully the swimming did not make it mad.

20 push ups, 60 crunches

I slept in this morning :(  Funny thing, I missed the pool time.  The quad is for sure on the mend :D  No running for this week :( but I should be great for next week ;D  I am going to do laundry and clean house today.

Have a GREAT day!

Training plan for the rest of the summer:

Monday- 800 swim, 5 mile run w/ 5k tempo

Tuesday- 3.5 mile run, 13 mile bike ride

Wednesday- 800 swim, 6 mile down the canyon run

Thursday- 3.5 mile run, 13 mile bike ride

Friday- 60 minute swim

Saturday- Long run: 10,13,10,15,10,13, etc

***Next week's running will be modified, ie- 2.5, 3.5, 3.5, 4, 4, 5 or something like that as I figure out if I am all the way healed:)  Then I will blast into this bad boy schedule :)  I will do the swimming and biking, although maybe less mileage on the bike :)

55 minutes of swimming.  Man, that was HARD and awesome!  BUT... more awesome than that is that MY QUAD IS ALL BETTER!!!!  No limp, no pain when taking the stairs, just tender to touch and kneeling is not perfect yet (so is that not "all better?").  I am SO excited to run on Monday :)  Yippee!!!  Happy day for healing!!!

Have a GREAT day!  Love to you all!!!

55 minutes of swimming with Double D, 10 of those were pool running.  The pool running was DORKY!!!  It was like one of those dreams when you are running and can't get anywhere.  I must be doing it wrong :p  Any hoots, I did a 50 in 40 seconds at the end of our work out, which is not great, but not too shabby either.  David's high school record was 22.9 ;)  Next week I will do it at the beginning and see what the difference is.  It was hard today after yesterdays workout.  I can't wait to run next week.  My upper body is TIRED!!

I can kneel with some discomfort, which is BIG ;)  It is only slightly tender to the touch, but hardly at all.

Last night- 80 crunches, 25 push ups.  Questions about the crunches.  For the criss crosses and the side ones, do you count one for each side or one for both sides???  The count is 80 if it is one for both sides and 120 if it is one for each sides ;)

2.2 REAL miles of actual running :)  The quad was FANTASTIC!  It was not sore at all this morning and so I decided to take it out for a spin.  Now my left hip was complaining a bit.  That left ITB is SO tight.  I will stretch everyone and let everyone have a nice day off tomorrow :)  It felt SO good to run :)

The swimming is KILLING my shoulders :(  Not fun.  I am hoping they will give up soon :)

I REALLY want to run TOU, but I know that it stupid, but I REALLY want to do it!  I truly did not believe in the "Marathon Bug" but I have it!  I am sick with fever and the only cure is MORE MARATHON!!!

I'll be ok.  I think I will feel better this week when I am running again and trying to train for this Triathlon in September.  There is one in Day Break on the 19th that will fit into my race schedule better than the I Can Tri in Sandy on the 12th.  I need to put a bit more thought into the matter.  The Sandy one is in a pool.  The Day Break is open water. I have decided. I am going to do the I Can Tri in Sandy.  It is 1/2 of the swimming and less biking than Daybreaks.  The pool swim is the kicker though.  I will do this one and then next year try another, longer distance sprint.

I need to look up some training schedules for sprints.... I just did, they are boring.  I will stick with my new modified plan :)

Monday- Run 5 mi tempo

Tuesday -3.5 mile run w/ 20 min swim

Wednesday- bike30 minutes, run 6 miles

Thursday- bike 90 minutes, run 3.5

Friday- swim 55 minutes

Saturday- long run, 10, 13, 10, 15, 10, 13...

I have also decided that I am going to do the Speedy Spaniard 10k July 24h and run the 5k at Onion Days.  I want to beat my time last year. :)

OH oh, super excited.  My running buddy Kim is going up to girls camp with me this week and so we can run up on top of the Mt Nebo Loop :)  I have always wanted to do it, but have never had another runner to go with me.  I am SO excited :)  I hope I can convince her to get up EARLY and go for a little bit of a long-ish run :)

Have a GREAT week.  Girls camp will be tons of fun.  All three of my girls are going this year.  I love girls camp!

Very tired this morning.  BEAUTIFUL morning :)  My hip was not too bad this morning.  I iced it last night, and am icing it right now.  Frozen pop corn kernels makes the best ice pack ;)

I am off to work, costco, Sun Flower Market, lunch with David and packing for Girls Camp.  Have a GREAT week.  I am not sure that I will blog again until thursday :)
