I have SO much to say, but have to head off to the Scottish Festival right now.  We just got home from the ER.  :(  I got a call just as I was finishing picking up the race signs telling me that an ambulance was taking Will, my baby, to the ER with a head wound.  PANIC!!!  He is alright, and I will share more info when I get back tonight :)

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! xoxoxoxoxo  We are doing this race again FOR SURE!!!

****Holy cow!  What a crazy Saturday :)  You can read my novel down in the comments about Will's adventures yesterday :)  We are so blessed that he was okee dokee :)  So on to the race...

After a night of fitfull sleep... the tires blew on my car and Josse and I missed to start :(  ...there was a ghost haunting my home...etc.  I finally got up about 3:50 and took a shower, weird, I know, and headed out to meet Josse at the park at 5:15.  We zoomed around the canyon and route to put up the red glittered RHPC signs and pink cones to mark the course.  We had to adjust things a bit, as Provo was doing some construction here and there.  It turns out that TylerS's company was responsible for all of the mayhem ;)  When we got back, Michelle was there all decked out in red and pink :)  The runners were arriving and things were looking GREAT!  We shuttled off to the start at the mouth of the canyon and we were off :)  I was back talking to Harold (Les's honey and the official photographer) and forgot to start running.  I hurried off to catch Leslie.  Now way back at 0'dark hundred, when I woke up, my tummy was not happy, but I just ignored it.  By about a mile into the run, I was trying really hard to not throw up :p  That has never happened to me before.  Les and I just walked a bit and it went away.  We started to run, and what do you know, nucky tum tum :(  Well, after a bit, I realized that this was a trend that was not going to let up so we turned around and went back to the finish :)  I am SO glad we did.  It was SO AWESOME to see all of the runners come in!  Especially MACK!!!!  She pulled it out and won the beloved VERY EXPENSIVE SUPER TACKY- (ugly really) RHPC Rooster!

This was such a fun race!  Everyone brought the COOLEST prizes to exchange.  The food was the BEST ever at the end of a race.  The runners were the most BEAUTIFUL women and handsome men in the UNIVERSE!!!  We are SO doing this again!

THANK YOU ALL!!!!  Be sure to sign up for the 5k in Spanish Fork the first Saturday in August.  Seesuerun's brother died a few weeks ago and left a large family.  This 5k is to benifit him.  I think Kelli has info posted on her blog :)  Let's make sure the RHPC (and dude's) are there to support her and her family :)

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

This picture just cracked me up!  Here is Luz, LONGING for the coveted RHPC rooster ;) You can just hear her thoughts, "Mac, you are going DOWN next year!"

"THE ROOSTER IS MINE!!!!"  Congratulations McKenzie :D  You are the Queen of the RHPC!!!

 ...or is it Tyler????

Will's wound :(  Gross, hugh???  Sorry if you are queezy :(

THANKS Marion for putting together such a fun race. You must have spent hours making those medals and the rooster.

I hope Will is OK. So scary. Please keep us posted.

From marion on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 10:07:48 from 71.213.106.139

I have to get ready for church- but ALL MY LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!! You all are the BEST ever! I had the BEST time ever!!

Now for Will... poor Will... Well, Kate took Will and Mac to the Scottish Festival yesterday morning. Will was running around like his usual crazy self and some how made contact with the side of the metal frame for the bungee trampoline. Any hoots, he came back to Kate screaming and with blood all over his sweet little face. There was a police officer there who called an ambulance. The EMT asked Kate if she could contact any parents and she said no. She was pretty upset and I guess she was in a bit of shock. The pipeband instructor finally got her to call David, but the ambulance was already underway... or something ;) So David calls me just as I am finished picking up all of the signs and pulling into Sonic for a drink :) I skip the Sonic and fly off to Payson. All I get from David is that Will is hurt badly and an ambulance is taking him to the hospital. I try to call several of my friends to have them get to the park to see whats going on and do what ever they can. I finally get the idea to call dispatch. They are able to confirm that an ambulance is taking a little boy to the hospital. I give her my info and she tells me to drive carefully and that they have him and are taking good care of him. She won't tell me his condition or anything else. Oh she does finally tell me that he is at the hospital. Once I finally get there (Scottish Festival traffic) I go running in. The paramedics see me coming for miles and point me to the room and tell me "Calm down, he's ok and over there." I am thinking, "YOU calm down- you took my baby in an ambulance to the hospital!!!!" The funny thing is that I never said a word to anyone- I am guessing the expression on my face screamed, "Where the HECK is my son!!!" He was in one of the trauma rooms perfectly calm, laying on Kate who was still crying. They had his head all wrapped up and a feather sticking out the top to make him and Indian. He had a tootsie pop too. For those of you who have not seen my facebook pic of his head- he had a nice whole in his forehead. NASTY!!! The doc stitched him up for a while on the inside and then finished it off on the outside. There were a lot of them. He ended up falling asleep during the stitches :) The doc had to wake him up and get him to pass a few little cognitive tests and then we were on our way home :) After a few hours he was as good as new and scaring the tar out of me jumping around and running like a crazy man again! ;)

From auntieem on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 11:07:18 from 67.182.145.8

Oh, man, scary story. So glad your little guy is OK. That panic when you don't know what happened to your kid is just awful!

From Smooth on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 11:53:23 from 71.36.67.77

I'm glad little Will is OK. That's traumatic for Kate and very SCARY and PANICKY for you. I'm glad YOU made it safe running around and going crazy to reach him. I can just picture you like a mother hen gathering her little chick (er little Indian) under the safety of her wings. :) Have a peaceful, restful, non-crazy Sunday, will ya? THANKS again for everything yesterday! You sure know how to plan fun running parties!

From Merri on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 12:15:01 from 67.104.0.92

Oh that is scary! I am glad he is ok.

From jun on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 13:27:51 from 97.126.239.131

So glad he is ok. My son had a similar thing happen as I was playing on an indoor soccer team. He tried to run up some big steps, tripped, and hit his head on the corner of the metal step. Next thing I know my wife is screaming for me and there is blood all over his face. I think he ended up with about 10 stitches. Crazy.

From JulieC on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 13:39:13 from 67.42.125.170

Hi Marion, You are just the coolest person on the blog :D Love all the PICS. So would have loved to have been there. My kids had a swim meet at Payson, wish you had my number as it was over by noon and I could have checked out the seen being only 1/4 mile from the festival. Kids!!! My youngest scares me like that everyday, broken elbow (surgery), jumping from high places without thinking, chin splits and then bouncing back out there! Hey slow down!!! I am nervous anytime she goes anywhere. Magnet for scrapes and bruises. Also when I was six I sledded right into a tree, my dad freaked, almost passed out and my mom had to drive me to ER, got quite the Harry Potter scar on my forehead. The Dr. in ER was drunk my mom told me later. This was in New Hampshire, my luck, lovely scar for life, but teaches me to realize "things happen" and we make it through most things "alive". Mommies suffer the most, right? : ) So three cheers for our kids refining us and making us turn gray prematurely. And three cheers for Marion and her RHPC Running Club!!!! Well done!!!!!!

From marion on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 13:49:39 from 71.213.106.139

Julie! Two of my kidos were at the swim meet too. They were ALL supposed to be there... and this would NOT have happened...growl. I am sorry you have a danger boy too. Sorry about the drunk doc and the scar :( Our doc was good, and lucid ;) He'll have a scar, but he's a boy and this one will match the one on his chin and eye brow... oh and cheek ;D

From marion on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 13:51:18 from 71.213.106.139

Jun- wow, they sure bleed a lot :p Scares the tar out of us. I am glad that I did not see it, but if I had been there, we could have saved us an ambulance ride :(

From JulieC on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 13:59:57 from 67.42.125.170

Marion- my littlest thinks she is a boy, that's her problem. Since I have only girls, had to get one that at least had the energy of two or three boys. Nothing slows her down!!! PS where was Kim R for this race? I must bug her if she ain't out there runnin'!!!

From marion on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 14:08:27 from 71.213.106.139

Great job on the half marathon and the pictures were so fun to see! Sorry your stomach gave you troubles but the whole event looks like it was a good time had by all!

Fun run, fun people, fun awards, great food, just an overall FUN experience!! Thanks a BUNCH!! Your energy and enthusiasm is what I will continue to work toward for the rest of my life :). You are a great example to me. I am so darn sorry to hear about Will. What a little trooper, I can not believe he fell asleep. I looked at your facebook page and WOW, that was quite the hole in his head. Although I may have to add what AMAZING eye's that little guy has. Look out Marion, you are going to have little pink runners chasing after him for years to come!! Good luck with everything and Thanks again for putting on such a fun race. I SO experienced your trauma right along with you as I read!! AND I cracked up at the 'you calm down!!' quote - EXACTLY what I would've said! I'm glad he's feeling well again and bouncing off the walls and happy. I hope you had a nice and restful Sunday, you'll need a few recovery days to get through this weekend!! YOU ROCK LADY!!!

Where does one start a comment regarding a day that began in solid pink and ended at either the emergency room and/or the Scottish Festival. My gosh woman, do you ever have a second of down time? What do you do when you're not making glittering pigs and saving the world? Geeze! Thanks so much for the race, that was the THE FUNNEST Thing I have done in forever. You rock my running world. And, you know, what I was thinking about that rooster? I was saying "Man I'd like a rooster, but that one just isn't TACKY enough for me. I sure hope Marion didn't pay $50 for it." Marion, thank you so very much. I "heart" Marion!

Luz- Whatever! I know you want that "darn" rooster! I would be SO pretty in your entry way ;) Mac had it appraised for insurance purposes and it came in at over $72. I got it for a STEAL!!!
