Personal:

My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I have recently lost a lot of weight and running is very new to me (I started running about 2 years ago).  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.

My new weight goal is to have lost 100 pounds.  I am quite sure I can get to about 93, but I am not sure about the 100.  The weight tracker is tracking my total weight loss.

I felt pretty tired today.  I am not really crazy about these cold temperatures, but I am really freaked out to know that the snow will be flying soon, but worse than that...it will be sticking to the ground!!!  Eeek!!!!!

Brrr It's cold here too! Eek! But it's supposed to warm up to the high 40s today so that's not that bad. Nice run today. Negative split queen strikes again!

From Burt on Dec 02, 2008 at 12:00:39

I wore shorts and a sleeveless shirt on my run this morning at 6am.

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 12:07:16

Burt- I am guessing you skipped Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People"? Yes- I am jealous!!!

Benn- I feel your pain! :D

From Burt on Dec 02, 2008 at 12:15:25

I lack certain social skills.

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 12:19:21

Reading? or just rubbing in your PERFECT weather to those who are going to DIE in the dreary wasteland. You know, for living in the "Bosom of Zion" it sure is cold!!! Bahahahahahaha!!!!

From tarzan on Dec 02, 2008 at 13:49:20

I've only worn tights 3 times this winter so far.

Do we live in different Utah's?

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 13:56:34

You are just a warm hearted soul and I am a cold hearted .... ;D Bahahahahahahahaha!

From Camille on Dec 02, 2008 at 14:29:32

I can't even imagin running in snow. I feel for you.

From leslie on Dec 02, 2008 at 15:24:28

I am sitting here in the hospital room and trying not to laugh. "Bosom of Zion" That is great!!!! WE have lucked out, it will be interesting to see how many of us tough it out in the frozen tundra when we are covered in snow. Hey, you have got the negative splits wired. We are still on for Painters, what is the word? Do you need any apple tokens yet?

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 15:29:02

No kidding Les- I am hoping I make it! I am going to dust off the treadmill just in case. I don't want any excuses to skip a run!

Are you and Harold coming?

Maurine- are you doing painters? There are plenty of apples... but it will be somewhat flop house style. We are going to have a GREAT time :)

From leslie on Dec 02, 2008 at 15:36:29

Yes we are planning on it, do you have any details yet? We do have a plan B if there are too many of us.

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 15:55:27

Marion - I will be out of vacation days and getting used to the new puppy - so will take a pass.

But - I already have 3 marathons and 3 ultra marathons on my schedule that you are welcome to join me for. :)

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 15:59:01

Out in January? Bummer! We will MISS you horribly!!!!!!

What are your three marathons? I want one next fall!

From tarzan on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:11:07

Right now I am planning on Ogden, Park City, and St. George.

I qualify for my next batch of vacation in early March. Somehow I used up almost all of my vacation going to Italy. :)

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:28:50

I've got Ogden down for a half and I am hoping for St George. If not I will go for Logan.

From leslie on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:30:50

Ihope you get into St. George!

So maurine, you have Antelope Island and Red Mountain and what is number 3? Is that going to be our 50 miler?

From leslie on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:33:48

Oh, the accomodations sound great! What a bargain!!!

From tarzan on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:36:04

Les - probably that new ultra right after Ogden.

I am still thinking 50 miler in the fall!

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:38:56

I just have to tell all y'all how AMAZING and AWESOME I am ! I just got our car registration in the mail about 30 minutes ago and I have already, in that time, had the cars emissions testing done! Am I cool or what? As soon as I pick it up, I'll go do the registration on line! I am SMOKIN' today!!!

From leslie on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:39:44

I am dieing to get the info on the new 50k!

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:40:03

OK- maybe some day I will be as cool as you 50 miler chicks! For now I am praying for a 13.1 mile miracle!!!

From Smooth on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:42:00

Marion -- Very NICELY done, negative splits again. You're very consistent. Gotta love this kinda Dec. weather. I hear ya on the eek factor. It's the ice that worries me.

I haven't signed up for Painter's yet. I will though. I still need to check with hubby's schedule. If he can't come, I will carpool with Kelli (if it's still ok w/ Kelli and Scott) and take one apple. IF hubby can come, he might feel funny being the non-runner there. I will let you know. When do you need to know by and when do you need the $$$.

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:45:55

My husband is the total NON-Runner! He's coming for fun and the carbs! I think we are going to hitch it with Kelli and Scott too! It will be a FUN ride down!

From Smooth on Dec 02, 2008 at 16:51:31

Cool! I'll need to convince hubby. He's very supportive of my running.

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 17:00:53

David is too. Does your hubby like the Wii?

From Smooth on Dec 02, 2008 at 17:10:39

We don't have Wii. He played tennis Wii while we were in Hawaii in May and loved it.

From marion on Dec 02, 2008 at 17:14:48

It is fun. Even I like it! DAivd will bring ours for some mindless entertainment.

From leslie on Dec 02, 2008 at 17:31:09

Hey, my Harold isn't running either, he will bring his bike though and probably try and sneak on the route somehow, he is one sneaky fellow! The Wii sounds fun, we have tried it once. Yeah smooth, I am glad you are going too!! I need to pay my registration too.

From Kelli on Dec 02, 2008 at 22:11:45

We can carpool 6 people, so the more the merrier (and squishier---but what do I care---I get the front seat, right?)

I am excited, this will be fun. When are we leaving? And can we stay forever?

From Kelli on Dec 02, 2008 at 22:12:38

Oh, and great job on the run today little Marion! You are doing great. The winter has been fairly kind to us so far. I can take the cold---but the ICE scares me and I hate the wind.
