I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

Nice run this morning.  I could not get up AT ALL!  I felt drugged.  I missed my girls leaving for their first day and only saw the boys off because they were running around like crazy people SCREAMING!!

NO PAIN for my run.  There was a bit of a twinge when I tried to run faster, so I stopped that :)  This injury is healing so strangely.  I am noticing some weird things.  There must have been some adhesions along my quads and ITB.  It seems that as I get one area all healed and loose, it just moves to another place.  That foam roller is really becoming my best friend.  I just hope I can handle all of these boring stinky flat routes while everyone is getting all better :)

So your miles were nice but not cute today? Oh, the run was nice, but the miles were stinky and flat.

So was today the first day of school in your parts? I myself drove to the high school no less than three times this morning.

I am so happy that your IT Band is semi-cooperating!!! It is good to get out and run a little, I am jealous I am not right there with you.

I LOVE when my kids go back to school. You must be a way better mom than me. I am counting down the days and looking forward to 3 afternoons of freedom----something I have not had since 1993!!!

So, about the movie. I LOVED the book, but everyone tells me the movie was no good. Should I go see it or not? I have been really looking forward to it.

I tried your kneeling to stretch the feet thing. It also stretched my achilles pretty well. Guess I should try stretching sometimes. I too have the IT band problem. You're right; when will the legs get that they're not going to make us stop running?!

Tamy- Stretching is REALLY great for us tight runners :)

Kelly- I liked the movie a lot. I think if you like the characters, you'll like the movie. It is just a bit off, and not in the "best movie ever" category ;)

Carolyn- yep- school started Wednesday :( I really like the summer :D

Good job, Marion. Your legs probably built up a lot of adhesions as you built up your mileage for that first marathon. This might all be related to injuries that stemmed from that.
