Did you know that real live Kleenex tissue is SUPER COOL! I always use plain old TP. It's a bit white trash, but it's just boogers! The Ogden Half was GREAT! It is such a beautiful course. My internet is a bugger so this is short. Thank you Lori & Bill for having me over for a great time! Lori you are the BEST!!! Carolyn, it was SO wonderful to meet you! Way to go on your BQ! Barry- I was so happy that we got to meet in person today. I couldn't find you after to see how you did. I did not push today, which was the plan. I really felt fine after the first 7 miles. The first three miles were the hardest. My right foot was pretty lousy. 2:3_/11:24, best 6:35, splits-11:36, 14:17(potty), 11:47, 11:21, 11:17, 12:01, 12:15, 10:41, 11:03, 10:58, 11:38, 11:05, 10:31

***Additional race report- For the first half of the race I was with the walk/runners. About half way through, I was able to lose them ;) My first walk runner that I wanted to drop was BIG Polynesian dude. At mile 6 I Pinked him ;) Next were the LOUD, mostly naked, TOO TAN, chubby chicks with bleached blond hair. I really wanted to catch pigeon toed, knocked kneed girl, but she left me in the dust about mile 5 L . For all of the parkway and streets, I just focused on passing everyone, just one at a time. I got grey Capri, peach top girl midway through the parkway. I was SO glad for the aid station with the LOUD music at the end. They were blaring AC/DC and it was just what I needed J . I wanted them to follow me with the music to the finish. I took fluid and/or fuel at every aid station except the last one. For the whole length of Grant, I started to push so I could pass everyone between me and the finish. There were two girls in the last quarter mile that were going to be tough to pass. I stepped it up and got them with a few feet to spare. The only bummer was that I was so focused on them, that I did not see the two girls on my right who passed me JUST AS WE CROSSED THE FINISH!!! :p

It was really hard to run this as a training run. I really had to fight off the tiny bit of competitive nature I have. I kept reminding myself what Carolyn had said, “This is just a training run with food!!” …and, port-a-potties ;)

After the race I was able to talk to Walter and Sasha and meet Dustin. For an extra special treat, I got to see Kelli and Kellie! They are SO cool and beautiful and FAST!!!! I may change my name to Kelli/Kellie so I can be them ;) I saw Allie, but by the time I got up to go meet her, she had vanished!!! L

Great job on the race. I am sorry I could not stay around and talk, but I needed to get back. And thank you for your words of encouragement! It sure was awesome to meet you and hopefully we can have another race together in the near future. How are you feeling now and is your foot still hurting?

From Smooth on Sat, May 16, 2009 at 23:07:46 from 71.36.78.246

Hey, CONGRATS! You got another Half under your belt. Sorry I didn't see you or met up. Larry just wanted to hustle me out of there. He does that all the time. Can't blame him, he's been standing there waiting forever. Plus he had a zillion thing to do to get ready for Sunday. Again, Kudos and WAY TO GO GIRL, RHPC rules!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 08:34:08 from 216.117.230.122

GREAT JOB MARION!!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the race. You seemed to be feeling remarkably good afterwards. And thank you SOOO MUCH for rubbing out my calves. You are the best!

It was great to meet you in person. We should get together again some time, but I'm sure your teenagers are much too cool for my stinky boys!

From marion on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 08:46:10 from 71.213.126.134

Thanks everyone!!! Lots of Love to you all!!!!! Internet keeps dying..ARGH!!!

Carolyn- I actually feel just fine ;) I didn't push much at all and I should be able to resume running monday ;) I was happy to rub your calves for you :) I can never find anyone who will rub mine, so I am happy to help a fellow "calf pain" sufferer ;) PS- My teens ar pretty regular and quite shy around new people...heck- they play the bagpipes, ;D that may very well go WAY beyond band geeks ;) Their best friend's user name is OrkaDork for Orchestra Dork ;)

Sorry about the foot!

From jona on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 17:16:50 from 76.27.81.31

Great job Marion! Your a running machine now. What is this your 3rd, 4th Half? You are just setting them up and knocking them down. Wow! Keep it up!

From MichelleL on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 19:53:53 from 71.219.40.17

She's popular because she's so very awesome (funny, kind, engaging) and we all know the cutest girls are the most popular girls :)

Sorry your foot hurt, but glad it didn't give you too much trouble. It seemed like perfect weather.

From Bonnie on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 19:56:45 from 71.210.108.104

Yes, we know why ... I was just pointing it out ;-).

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 20:44:59 from 71.229.164.25

Marion,

My oldest is a total orchestra geek. The second is a Zelda geek (if you know who Zelda is). The 3rd one, well, I don't know how to categorize him.

I should rub your calves for you.

From seeaprilrun on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 20:54:43 from 68.102.144.140

You are the BOMB! Hope that foot lightens up. The countdown is on for your marathon--I can't wait!

From m on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 22:37:05 from 71.219.51.126

Carolyn- Zelda is a staple around here. The tri-force is everywhere.

Geeze- you are SO nice!!! I just wish I were as fast as the rest of you! I am the runner in the back that gets eaten by the wild animals becasue I am too slow :(

From marion on Tue, May 19, 2009 at 16:43:59 from 71.219.48.95

HOLA!!! My internet is working again :) I added race details if you want to take a gander.

Michelle & Bonnie- If I am popular, it is only due to the need for y'all serious runners to have a bit of comic relief ;D I'm an accident waiting to happen :D

From leslie on Tue, May 19, 2009 at 16:54:23 from 76.23.61.78

I don't see them. Maybe the internet is still acting up.

From marion on Tue, May 19, 2009 at 17:29:07 from 71.219.48.95

That's all there is, right?

From MichelleL on Tue, May 19, 2009 at 18:51:14 from 71.219.40.17

Burt - Michelle's an old lady. Lame-at least literally. (Marion knock it off, this is your blog). I'm no amazon goddess. My girth is getting amazonish but unfortunately I don't have the height to get the goddess portion.

From marion on Wed, May 20, 2009 at 11:17:24 from 71.219.48.95

Yes, Michelle, this is my blog and since I am the founding president of the Michelle Lowry is the BEST Fan Club, I can talk about you all I want!!!

The things I love about Michelle..

She is KIND, patient, SMART, funny, FAST(even on crutches), great wife and mother, sometimes is crazier than me, understanding, doesn't put up with crap, stands up for what she believes, BYU grad, does not belittle the little people (like me), encouraging... too many things to list! Oh wait... SUPER NICE and VERY beautiful, talented, she's also a great aim with her car at hitting deer. She also LOVES the Smiths! She makes GREAT hummus and pita bread too.

From marion on Wed, May 20, 2009 at 11:18:10 from 71.219.48.95

Is that the right kind of patient? Patience? I wish I could spell as well as Michelle does!

From MichelleL on Wed, May 20, 2009 at 11:44:10 from 71.219.40.17

So if I'm so smart how come I don't know how to delete someone else's comments off their blog???

From allie on Wed, May 20, 2009 at 11:54:05 from 208.110.151.113

well, i have never met michelle but from the post above, i would like to add quick-witted to the list.
