I am the biggest baby on the treadmill!  I just find any excuse to get off and do something else.  This is why outside running is best for me.  I can't wimp out!   Thanks to the brilliant Smooth, I was wishing I had a big ol' fan to use, like hers, and I remembered the HUGE fan I have kicking around in my laundry room!  Yippee!  The fan helped a ton!  My calves are still really tight.  I am going in to see Dr Brady this afternoon for my weekly tune up.

As for the cold- I think I am getting better.  I don't feel sick anymore and the decongestants and Nasacort are doing their job.  The crisis may be averted!!!

I am officially on board for all of this "get fit" crap.  I am officially 100% committed to losing 25 lbs.  (there are 5 spare pounds that hopped on board December 25th- Jan 1)  I am also going to add the ab workout that Rachel gave me 3 days a week and yoga is back in 3 times a week too.  This is my birthday present to myself. I want to have lost 100 lbs by my 40th birthday.  (please note, that I understand that even if I follow my brilliant plan to the "t" my body may have different ideas and I am good with that- progress is progress, even if slower than desired ;)

As for food- I will eat the Filling Foods and stick to my Personalized Daily Points Target, Weekly Points Allowance and eat my Activity Points as needed when hungry.  I get to go out to dinner one night a week and I get one dessert a week, both of which I will fit into my POINTS budget.

Life is good and I am happy with all of the progress I have made over the past three years. Not only have I met ALL of the goals that I set for myself, I have surpassed many of them.  Honestly, my wildest dreams of three years ago have come true.  I do have to admit that I am quite surprised that I have come up with new "wild" fantasy for myself and can hardly stand the thought that I am going to be able to accomplish these too.

I'd better get dressed.  I may be a beach volley ball player in my head, but this flabby gut of mine needs to get covered.  If anyone stopped by, they would first be blinded by the whiteness and then once their eyes have adjusted they would DROP DEAD at the sheer horror of me in my running shorts and sports bras!  YIKES!!!

Thanks for the visual, Marion (my eyes!). It sounds like you are focused and ready to roll for another year. Keep hydrating and taking your vitamins so you will stay healthy for Painters.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 12:13:07

Yes MOM- I will get up and drink another 32 oz of water and take my vitamins! xoxoxoxo :D

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 12:17:48

Marion!!! I'm rolling on the floor laughing out loud with the visual. You are TOO FUNNY!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your enthusiasm and positive vibes and the go-getter attitude. Yes you can give yourself that WONDERFUL birthday present. You ARE DOING IT!!!

Look at you, another 5 miles. I haven't got my hinnie out the door yet, still debating: another treadmill or scary slippery road or bag it??? You motivated me, I've got to just do it.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 12:22:57

Now Smooth- your hubby has banned you from the out doors- you better get on that treadmill! TORTURE!!!! :D

From leslie on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 13:13:27

Marion, WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS!!!!! Pretty soon you will be wearing your sports bra and shorts around the neighborhood!!!!!

Way to go 5 miles on the treadmill is HUGE!! I only did 3, and not because I was bored ( which I was) but I was POOPED! Last nights circuit training and this mornings wiped me out. I have such a long way to go!! It is sure nice to have company on this journey, thanks for the support and humor!!!!

From seeaprilrun on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 14:57:56

GO MARION! GO MARION! GO MARION! You are inspiring!

From Metcalf Running on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 15:32:39

Marion, way to stick it out on the treadmil! Do you have music... listening to my ipod while on the treadmil makes the time go by better for me. I also think that I'm a bit of a fanticizer (sorry for the spelling), but while I'm on the treadmil I can picture all the things that I want to scuplt, and make, I can visualize tons, then before I know it I have run for an hour :)

Love your goals... I have an extra five now also :( I hope I can refocus my efforts like you and loose the final 10, or now 15 that I'd like to loose.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 15:43:21

I have a hard time on the treadmill because the kids are running all a round and they like to watch their shows. I am so afraid that a truck or pillow is going to come flying at me and send me into the christmas tree that is STILL THERE behind the treadmill!!! I can't even get up early to be alone- the boys get up at 5:30 am with the chickens! Hey- not even the chickens are awake then! ;)

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 16:12:10

Marion,

Too late, I got out there. Hubby is gonna find out and I can blame the bloggers for the positive peer pressure, right?

Man, you have a lot of "distractions" while running on the treadmill. Can you put the boys on the stationary bike or somethin'. Wait, if they're home, they must be pre-schoolers. Doesn't your new HD TV have a children exercise program they can watch? You have chickens? We used to have chickens. The last one died in April 2008. My Christmas tree used to stay up till President's Day. Not this year. So nice to have the house back.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 16:40:18

We don't have chickens, we would have eaten them if we did. ;)

These pre schoolers are not in one spot for long. They are boys! Need I say more? Will, my 3 year old, keeps trying to race his cars along the treadmill belt when I am running. He's gonna kill me! ;)

From The Howling Commando on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 16:44:59

Marion - You are one tough cookie. And one awesome mom and wife and friend. You are awesome. You have accomplished so much and all I can say is that everyone better watch out because "meling marion" is going to rip roar onto the scene as "smokin hot marion!" yeow! You are a trooper and an inspiration to me. Don't worry about being a "baby" on the treadmill. You get runs that are 2-3 x longer than mine on the treadmill! I can't wait to see you beat this goal too!

From Marion on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 16:51:50

Thanks Benn- I am blushing now, gawl lee! ;)

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 17:23:07

You crack me up! However, your goals are serious business. I just copied and pasted and made them mine! FILLING FOODS are my key right now. This sugar free jell-o is not getting me anywhere!

You will succeed, you are awesome! And, dang it, progress is progress!

So, what did you buy to wear for the race????

From Marion on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 00:14:40

Sugar free jello is a bummer unless it is covered in whipping cream! ;) I am really thinking about whipping cream right now! OOoo- I love orange jello with mandarin oranges with at least an inch of real whipping cream on top with a layer of finely shredded cheddar cheese! YUMMY!!! I better go to bed!

I bought Hot pink pants and a hot pink long sleeve shirt. REd gloves, ear muffs and a sweat shirt. I am going to look HOT! I am going to find some pink shorts just in case :)

From Smooth on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 00:45:25

Marion, you're making me hungry. I better go to bed too!!! Are you gonna bring that orange jello to Painter's?

From leslie on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 10:52:02

I have a red and pink shirt!!! Now I need to accessorize!!!!

From Marion on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 11:25:53

Smooth- I will make it just for you (and me). It is SO good, and yet so strange sounding :)

Leslie- We are going to dazzle and amaze all of our competition! I may even bring my red and pink PJ's. ;D

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 14:40:22

You had me until you said CHEESE!!!! Do not get me wrong, I love cheese, I think I could live on cheese, bread, and ice cream...but not in JELL-O!!! My grandma make a similar jell-o (but it has pineapple instead of mandarin oranges). So, make some of the nummy jell-o CHEESE FREE!!! SAVE THE JELL-O!

Weird Mormons and their funky jell-o creations!

From Marion on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 15:20:53

My family never had jello growing up at all. My mother was not big on Jello. We were bad Mormons ;) We had this one maybe 2 or 3 times and it is good. I'll leave some cheese free for you, but you've got to try it.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 15:22:58

I will try anything, I am an EATER!!! (Well, anything that did not come from the ocean, that is!)

Jell-o makes the world go round, I love it!

From Smooth on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 17:05:26

I'm a convert to good Mormon jello. I LOVE mandarin orange in jello. Hubby's family were good mormons. They make theirs with crushed pineapple and cream cheese in lime jello. I've never had cheddar cheese on my jello either. But I'll try it.

Kelli, you don't like seafood? I'd better not bring my shrimp pasta. What kind of bread do you like? I live 1.5 miles from Kneaders.

From Marion on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 17:16:28

If the seafood will not kill her- then SUSANNA- YOU MUST BRING IT!!!! We LOVE seafood :)....unless it will kill Kelli- then it can be skipped.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 18:51:50

It will not kill me! In fact, I just pick it out of the pasta when it is in there!!

I love mandarin oranges in jell-o, and bananas, and any kind of fruit. NO CARROTS!

From leslie on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 19:35:09

NO CARROTS?? What kind of a Mormon are you??
