No zip today.  I was actually quite nauseated for the second half of the run.  I need to change my blog title to Paranoid Hypochondriac Runner.

I broke one of my toes last night :(  It's the second one from the end on the right foot.  The baby toe got jammed pretty good, but I don't think it is broken.  It is not broken near the base, just near the tip.  The poor thing looks like a grape :(  I was worried about running this morning, but it wasn't too bad at all.  Putting the socks on was the worst part :)  I am not sure if it is the joint or the distal phalanx.  Probably the joint, but WHO CARES, it's just a toe.  As my doc said once when I told him I had broken my toe.  He said, and I quote, "Ah man, that SUCKS!!  Bummer!  We can tape it if you want :D"

***Just when to get Will off of the potty and HIT MY TOE ON THE STOOL!!!!  I think that is the worst part about breaking a toe, YOU ARE GONNA KNOCK IT AGAIN!!!!**

I iced my feet after the run, both for good measure.

OH NO Marion! :( I've been in your shoes before only with bad sprains from stubbing my feet on treadmills and such with the lights off. I'm so sorry for your poor little grape toe! :( Just remember to BUDDY TAPE IT! That's how I was able to keep running with it!

From tarzan on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 11:13:32 from 63.255.172.2

Want me to kiss it and make it better?

From Marion on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 11:30:18 from 71.213.126.135

Maurine- You could, but I think Mint Brownies might work better ;)

Benn- thanks and I am sorry you have busted your little toes too :( I'll tape them tomorrow. Thanks for the tip :)

From leslie on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 11:56:48 from 76.23.61.78

ouch, dang it! 5 miles is good girl. I feel like body is rebeling, it keeps saying, " sit on the couch and read and eat nachos" I can't seem to fight it.

From marion on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 11:59:00 from 71.213.126.135

Leslie- I feel your pain! I think I am suffering from delayed SAD's. I can skip the nachos but I really want whipping cream and cheese.

From Burt on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 12:17:33 from 68.76.197.194

Wear some shoes, girl.

I'm totally dry heaving from what Tarzan said.

From Metcalf Running on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 12:20:45 from 207.225.192.66

OUCH!! I can't believe you broke a toe... so sorry, but man girlie you are tough, running five miles with a broken toe! I think you better wear shoes around so you don't bump them anymore.

From leslie on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 12:23:13 from 76.23.61.78

What is SAD's, whatever it is I bet I have it.

From Smooth on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 12:28:23 from 71.36.87.147

Ice it, then tape it, no more bare foot. SAD = Sexy Amorous Dynamo! That's Marion!

From tarzan on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 12:28:45 from 63.255.172.2

SADs is Seasonal Affective Disorder. Occurs in winter because of lack of sunlight. Can cause depression. That is why I use a daylight lamp in my cubicle in the winter.

From marion on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 12:46:43 from 71.213.126.135

Burt & Lori- Shoes? I hate shoes- I am the Amazon Goddess, NO SHOES!! (Ok- I will go put some shoes on ;)

Smooth- I like your version of SAD's better :)

Maurine- you too? I have been doing much better since I have started running. I think the spring gets me because the weather keeps changing and my psyche thinks it's gonna be WINTER again!!! NOOOoooooooo!!!!

From JulieC on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 15:05:55 from 65.103.228.82

I saw that new toes could be ordered online cheap. Many people found toes are expendable so have sold them to Drs that say "Ah man that sucks" to help them improve bedside manner. Now some Drs say "I can replace that for you, it won't take long, it is an in office procedure. Your insurance will cover it" :) Honestly my sense of humor is becoming demented. Sorry about the toe, that causes me to make sipping motions with my lips.

From marion on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 16:11:37 from 71.213.126.135

Julie- YOU ARE HILARIOUS!!! That is so funny :) You are not demented- you are among friends :)

From RAD on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 18:02:14 from 67.166.99.8

Sorry about that stinky toe!! Maybe its the SAD thats getting me today too...or just a lack of sleep :) Nice job getting out on that toe! With the way I feel I think I'd just stay home on the couch and eat Costco hotdogs and icecream :)

From kellies on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 23:59:40 from 66.119.143.249
