1:46:00 ave 13:39, best 7:50,  Laps- 11:00(alone with the new orthotics), 14:06 (picked up Kim and walked a bit), 12:44, 13:10, 13:40, 13:53, 12:33 (3 strides ranging from 8:26 to 7:50), 15:28(the "beast" and walked home from Kim's)

Poopie run today :p   I should have expected it.  I have had really good runs lately, so I was due a crapper.  I was mostly just really tired the whole run.  I really wanted to lie down in the snow bank for a nap.  We did three strides at the end.  I figured the run was a bust anyway, so why not toss in some speed for torture ;)  It wasn't bad at all and felt a bit redeeming.  It made "the BEAST" really hard.  (the Beast is what I am calling the cruddy hill just before I get home).

I dreampt about making cookies all night.  I made Chocolate Chip Oatmeal with dried cherries instead of rasins (which I HATE).  I am going to the store after my shower to get the stuff to make them.  I am going to try chocolate chunk ;)  I thing they are going to be AMAZING!  I had three different dreams about them last night.  It must be a sign.  If they ROCK, I will post the recipe and bring them to Painters with me!

They were very good :)

I think it is totally a sign. I had gone 7 days without sugar and finally, on Thursday night, I went to Maglebys and bought me a piece of their chocolate cake and devoured every bite, it was heaven!! Then, had a small treat yesterday too. I was supposed to be off of sugar starting on the 2nd until after painters, so I am going to try and cut it out this week, and then will come find you at painters to get some of those cookies, Deal??

Hey, you got out and ran 8 miles today, You Are AWESOME!! Way to go Marion~

From Marion on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 16:28:11

Oh yes- You are running Painters?? We are having dinner at our condo. We'd love to have you. It's a potluck dinner. I am sure we will be going out to lunch after too. Oh and did you hear? We are the Red Hot Pink Chicks! You must wear red and hot pink. We are going to stop traffic! ;)

From leslie on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 16:34:48

Dang those cookies sound good! 8 miles is 8 miles!!! It is all good and wonderful! You have put in all the work, and you will do FANTASTIC at Painters, you Red Hot Pink Chick you! I am planning on really taking it easy, I have no time goal for Painters at all, I will shuffle along and talk with the folks in the back and be happy as a clam!

From Burt on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 17:16:12

Yep. You're going to do great at Painter's. Don't eat too many cookies before then. You can send them to me if they're too much of a temptation. After the race you can eat all you want.

From Kelli on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:12:55

Dream cookies, love the name!

You have had a great couple of weeks, cut yourself some slack! Plus, it is winter, we should be hibernating not out running our butts off (literally, I wish!)

From Marion on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:16:09

I know Kelli- I guess I just keep expecting that some day I will never have another bad run ever again! :) So, with a bad run, I get cookies! I need to hide them or mail them to Burt!

From Kelli on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:19:46

Or FREEZE them and save them for the next crappy run---it will save you from baking.

From Marion on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:30:31

Good plan. I will freeze them, although about 20 teenagers are coming over tonight so they probably wont make it too long. I had to make them so I wouldn't dream about them again. That reminds me about something else I was dreaming about last night. Strange night!

From Kelli on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:34:18

Hey, any ideas for me---my daughter is turning 16 on Wednesday. She will not be getting a license, so that is not fun, and she is babysitting for us while we are out of town on her first weekend 16,so what can I do for her?

From tarzan on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:36:43

Where are my cookies!?!

From Marion on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 19:18:35

Maurine- they are being devoured by short people!

Kelli- We had a surprise party for Anna at the church. We set up the volley ball nets and the wii in the RS room with a projector. We also go the costco Princess birthday cake. (She is NOT a princess ;) We ordered pizza. It was SO easy and they had a great time. Her YW leaders told her that they were doing a service project and cleaning the church. We did it on a Saturday morning.

You could bust her out of school wed and take her to lunch and a movie. You could get permission to bust out a few of her friends too. Or get her friends to come over early and take them all out to breakfast before school. You could take trax to down town and have lunch some where cool.

Dream Cookies...what a notion!! You could be on Oprah..Something about Dream Interpretation and Reality. I bet your cookies could win a prize. Yum Yum. I need to have more yummy dreams.

From Teena on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 19:29:31

Marion, those cookies sound so good!! Way to get in your miles today (and adding the little extra torture in the end). You are a fighter for sure!

Hope you are enjoying your evening.

From Marion on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 19:36:22

Julie- it's funny you mention Oprah- I thought the same thing as I was making them. It felt so "oprah-esque". :)

Teena- Thanks! We've got a plethora of teenagers in the basement watching Sense and Sensibility (BBC version). Good times!

From The Howling Commando on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 22:40:49

MMMMmmmm *drool.. Can I place an order for cookies/!?! Um.. yum!!! I'll have to send you my recipe for some yummy cookies I've been making at home.

How do the feet feel? Super run today! It was only in the single digits here today so it was really nippy here!

As for the "Dream" cookies, I would definitely have to modify the recipe, as if I made that much dough, I would promptly gain 10 or 15 pounds after consuming all those goodies! :) Are you getting psyched for Painters?

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 11, 2009 at 00:11:22

WAY to bust out that beast and an 8 miler.

Dream cookies, you're a gourmet dreamer chef. Do you talk in your sleep? With that you would make the Oprah and Good Morning America or Yen Can Cook Show!!!

From Becca on Sun, Jan 11, 2009 at 18:25:38

Way to make your dreams reality! :)

From leslie on Sun, Jan 11, 2009 at 20:17:23

You're killing me with that recipe! My goal is to get thru this day without a mishap. So far so good, weigh in is tomorrow for our contest. I want to eat a half dozen of your cookies now with a big glass of milk. Boo hoo....

24 starts in 45 minutes and that will take my attention of my sweet tooth hopfeully.

From leslie on Sun, Jan 11, 2009 at 20:19:18

What kind of rolled grain cereal do you get and do you eat it as cereal or just bake with it?

From Marion on Sun, Jan 11, 2009 at 21:02:55

Sorry Leslie- I don't mean to be a bad influence ;) I use Lehi Roller Mills 6 grain cereal. You can use just regular old fashioned rolled oats too :) I like to be complicated ;) They are also a bit tougher and give the cookie a bit more grit ;D
