Thanks to the AMAZING Luz, her sweet sleepless hubby drove us up to Vivian park for a nice run down the canyon to the lake.  The MAGNIFICENT Maruine met us at the trail head on Geneva Road for a GREAT run. OK, I am lying about the "great" part.  I pretty much wanted to QUIT the whole time.  Seriously.  I am a baby.  I am currently the MOST SORE I have ever been.  Giving birth left me feeling better!  Seriously.

THANK HEAVENS FOR WONDERFUL FRIENDS WHO WERE THERE FOR ME TODAY AND GOT ME THROUGH THIS TOUGH DAY!!!

Yes, this is the furthest I have ever run :)  Yes, I will be braging about it for a few days.

Oh wait, did I mention that we were SOAKED for the first 8 miles by RAIN!!!  I made the mistake of looking in the mirror at Will's Pit Stop.  I looked like a drown rat.

I am not nearly as winy as this all sounds.  I had better get stretching so I can move tomorrow! ;0

No wonder I feel like CRAP!!  This is my highest mile run on my HIGHEST mile week EVER!!!  Ba nah!

Maurine- The boys LOVE the cookies!  They have eaten them ALL.. almost.  They keep saying they are from Santa! :)

Awesome! You are on track. There is something fun about running in the rain - though...

From marion on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 14:59:27 from 71.213.126.85

nfroerer- (what does that mean?) Yes- it's WET!! ;) I am just an "old" cranky lady ;)

WOW. 18.5 miles. WOW! That's a long run. WOW.

From Maurine/Tarzan on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 15:28:22 from 97.117.57.193

Great job on conquering a new mileage! Remember - those last miles were slower because we were gathering up cones. :) We weren't at all tired.

Glad the boys enjoyed the cookies. Better than me eating them.

From leslie on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 15:43:51 from 76.23.61.78

You guys put me to shame! YOu are Tigers!!!!! Well done!

I am the baby, I just wanted to be dry and warm and poo-poo on the dumb run. I will croak at Ogden, but oh well.

yeah, 13 miles at Ogden will seem like a walk in the park! I wish I was doing the half. I may have to crawl the last 6 miles.

From marion on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 16:21:08 from 71.213.126.85

Thanks guys! I just conquered the ice bath. I am amazed at how much that helps. My brain is starting to fog over. I am going to go and stretch some more :) Wait- I think I need a nap. That could be it. I am going to go stretch and then fall asleep on the floor. And then we are going to make sugar cookies and I am going to eat them all.. No, wait, I want a burger, actually any red meat at all sounds good.... hmmmmmm....

The laundry is started :)

From Smooth on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 16:34:13 from 71.36.87.147

GREAT JOB congering your longest miles and reaching your highest mpw. WAY TO GO! Stretch, eat good, recover well. The rain never stopped for us the entire time. We were dripping wet from head to toes.

From Kelli on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 17:11:32 from 71.219.95.5

From Maurine/Tarzan on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 17:37:27 from 97.117.57.193

I started my wet load of laundry too! I was too cold for an ice bath - took a warm one instead.

Great job!

NIce job Marion!! You are gonna do awesome at ogden and the marathon. My first 18 miler I wanted to die too, but speedy Kelli was dragging me to the finish...It was one where I was counting down the ticks on the garmin :) So...Boast on!!! How many people can roll out of bed and do that??? Plus in the rain! And how many people would have rockin' friends to do it with them?? You are an amazing woman and deserve it all!! Enjoy a nice steak dinner tonight...just don't eat the baby cows I saw in Lehi today, they were cute :)

From Lucia on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 19:07:11 from 98.204.55.168

I think we need to have a cookie mascot, it seems to be the bloggers fuel of choice.

From luzylew on Sun, May 03, 2009 at 23:57:09 from 69.169.165.206

Marion, you are a trooper. What a big week for you...the baptism, the birthday, the 18.5 miler. You are truly an inspiration. I haven't had a second since yesterday to come see how things turned out yesterday. I'm glad you got some running in without any rain. I was SOAKED, wetter than I've ever been when I finished. I COULD NOT have done another 5 miles yesterday. You get a medal.
