Alright I am a big ol' wimp!  David was doing inventory all night last night and so I did not sleep one little bit.  I guess his snoring is like a lullaby for me and with out it...no sleep :(   So... I did not get up to run this morning to do my long run :(  Oh well, flexibility is key to success!!  I had to hit the TM.  I found a game to play with myself.  I had to run a full mile before I could get off for a few minutes for a treat.  Mile one treat was a trip to the potty ;)  Mile 2 was check email really fast.  Mile three was start a load of laundry, and mile 4 was a big glass of water and watch the commercials from the couch! ;)  Am I a dork or what?? Each time I got back on, I increased my pace by 30 seconds.  I don't know if there is a name for this type of workout but I will call it, "Marion is lame and has to trick herself into running on the treadmill" workout.  It has been snowing here all morning.  It is a really good thing that snow is so beautiful!!! ;)

Lot's of love to you all!!  xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Wk 1 day 1 push up challenge- maxed out at 5 and a 1/2 ;)  These are wimpy girl ones!  I am a dork and a wimp!

Any success over the wimpout factor is still a victory.

From Marion on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:20:23

Hey Jon- I don't know if you ever went over to my melting marion blog, but you made it in my 1/2 marathon entry. It's an awesome picture of us all finishing up. You really were an amazing help to me! Thanks again! How is the lovely Kelly lady? I really like her :)

From Marion on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:21:17

Thanks Maurine! I am pretty proud of myself for doing all five. I usually wimp out in mile 3 :)

From Metcalf Running on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:27:21

That's exactly how you run a marathon... one mile at a time :) I think you did great! Better then no miles at all.

From LESLIE on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:27:40

Hey you little fancy pants! I think your trick worked great! Great pace, you beat us all to heck this morning!!

From Marion on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:31:31

Thanks Lori- Hey- I am 5 miles down for my marathon- only 21 to go! ;)

Les- I am a total dork! But hey, it's done and now I get to take the boys to McDonald's! I am going to make more Hummus! I need to go pick up some flat bread!

From LESLIE on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:33:37

I just paid a visit to your Melting Marion website and it is so much fun!! Music and pictures, it is AWESOME! If people ask me where they can get my cool hot pink leg warmers send them my way, I am sure everyone wants a pair! Sexy!!!

From Marion on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:35:20

Les- speaking of fancy pants- you should see my hot outfit! Let's just say I hope the UPS guy does not come around. He'd throw up for sure!!!

From LESLIE on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:35:50

Is it hard to make humus? I love that stuff. Have a parfait for me!

From LESLIE on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:39:04

You are alittle hottie, even in a dorky outfit! Are you wearing your outfit to MacDonalds, or are you dressing up for the occasion? I am off to Zupas and then I am going to watch Paul do therapy up at the U of U, we can watch him through a tinted glass window, Julie said it is really cool the stuff they do with him.

From Marion on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 13:49:40

Hummus us easy peasy. You just need a food processor. It takes a few minutes.

Have fun at zupas. Michelle and went there a few weeks ago. It was dang tasty!

No- the outfit would be illegal at McDonalds. Shorts and a spots bra on a white gigglie nearly 40 is not very cute or hot ;)

From jona on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 14:05:56

Marion, I go to your melting site every now and then, but somehow missed that entry. I like your commentary on the race. I REALLY hope you had a good experience. You have worked SO hard to get to this point in your life and you should be so very proud of yourself. I hope that you had some serious goose bumps when you came across the finish line!

From Marion on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 14:31:09

Jon- I was actually fine until David found me and then a bawled. I cried off and on for about 2 days. By monday night i could talk about it without tears. I felt like a dork, but I guess finishing was a bigger deal to me than I realized :) Thanks again. You were a life saver at the end. :)

From jona on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 14:36:50

Your not a dork Marion, I have a race that to this day brings the emotions out of me. (its been almost a year now). But I think those are some of the reasons we race. I know I am not going to win the race, but I have my winnings come in other ways than being the first to cross that line.

I think, for many of us, we are just trying to live our lives and get through each day, with family, work, church, etc. Running is something totally aside from all of that regular life. It is one thing that we can work REALLY HARD and actually see results and accomplishment, even weekly. It is SO physically & mentally demanding. It's SO rewarding! I am so glad I started running. :D

From Teena on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 15:25:49

All I have to say is that you are so cute!! Whatever works baby!

From Smooth on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 16:48:04

Marion, I was thinking about you when I was running into the wind with snow jabbing into my squinty little eyes. How silly of me to forget to wear my "windshield" AFTER telling you to yesterday!!! I wonder how in the world could Marion run in this weather. Oh man, I hope she didn't go out for her long run and that torture 10 mm to failure tempo!

WHAT??? You mean I was worrying about you for NOTHING? You got "treats" after each mile? You re-invented treadmill running, I tell ya. I'm gonna try that next time, get a treat and increase each time by 30 seconds. You think I can run a sub-7 that way? You're a riot, not dorkous. :)

From Marion on Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 18:12:12

Smooth- Funny dork- that is me! I am always so impressed by your work outs on the treadmill. I feel like it is a workout to stay on it. Those little cute snow flakes are nasty little buggers aren't they? They are like little Chinese fighting stars. Ouch! I am sorry your forgot your wind shield :( Good luck with the sub-7 ;)

Push ups are HARD!!!!! Great job today!
