My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

60 minutes of yoga.

My hip was a little more tender last night, but less than it was Saturday and Sunday.  I just don't understand why my hip felexor is SO irritated.  Hmmmmm....  Oh, I did not confess last saturday that I had itb and hip pain at the end of my run, hence the revision of my return to running.  My first mile was in the 9:40's on sat, uphill :(  I am sticking to the treadmill to keep me on level ground and at a 12 mm pace for the next 4-6 weeks.  Trying to listen to my body is really hard when my mind/ego says GO GO GO GO GO!!!

Lot's to do today :)

Level ground is a good plan for those injuries. Make sure you do a good warmup and cool down.

I suppose that the good thing about a treadmill is that you can use it to force yourself to stay on pace, whether that's a fast pace or an easy pace.

Good luck with your busy day.

Way to listen to the body despite your deep desire to throw all caution to the wind and beat it! Sorry you're still working through all that pain :(

I had to come over to your blog cause I need Marion Love. I reread the Harriet Beecher Stowe quote and said out loud "I CAN do hard thing" three times out loud. Way to keep at yoga. I think I'm going to start going again to It's Yoga on my lunch hour. I so need the mental quietness that can only be acheived through yoga. I am so sad about your IT band. I wish it would heal. I need a girl-friend run outside in the sunshine and I wish your leg was good again. Keep on Keepin' on! I'm so looking forward to relaxing together again in a few weeks.
