72 minutes yoga.  Fall is here.  I used to LOVE the Fall when I weighed a lot more.  I have been FROZEN for 2 days now.  I would be in love with fall if I didn't know that WINTER was coming to try to freeze me to DEATH!!!  Plus, our furnace is DEAD and we need to get a new one asap.  I really don't want to pay for a new furnace :(  I'd better get in the shower and then call the furnace guys.  Does anyone have a furnace guy they like???

Opening up to gratitude

Skill Level: Novice
Style: Kundalini
Focus: Full Body, Grounding, Twists, Ailment Specific, Chakras
Length: 51:18
Instructor: Sarah Kline

The aim of yoga is to open up completely: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually in order to receive. Set an intention to give and receive thanks in your life in this introductory sequence with Sarah. Rather than letting your mind shift to thoughts of outward appearance and display in postures, keep your focus on your breath and find inner awareness that leads to gratitude.

Appointment with Dr Brady- I am off running for at least another week, possibly up to 4-6 :(  I am going a bit bonkers.  He is not sure why my hip is not chilling out.  He wants me on ibuprofen for 3 days.  If it causes water retention, like it has in the past, I must go off.

Oh to be so frail and thin that one experiences a chill in the light autumn air, or to become light headed whilst swimming in the chilly resevoir from lack of body fat. I have two words for you: Boo-Hoo.

From RAD on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 14:40:39 from 76.27.12.70

Marion, you can commiserate with me! I get cold by October and don't thaw until May! I'm so serious, I don't like cold weather. I LOVE snow and to ski and play, but I HATE being cold :( No furnace guys...I have a friend who's hubby works for Manwill, but I don't know their reputation at all. He's a good guy, but one of a hundred I'm sure.

From marion on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 14:52:37 from 71.213.124.121

Britta- I will gladly send you my chill :) Please enjoy some of your beautiful weather for me :)

Rad- What are we to do? All of my favoirte low cal trats are COLD! It's at times like these that I wish I drank coffee ;)

Luz- Fooey on you! ;) You are the twig lady. I know I have told you that I want to look as good as you do! I think my body is just used to being self insulated and doesn't know what to do ;) My ansestral instincts have kicked in and I have been trying to eat all of the nuts and grains I can find. SAVE ME!!!

You guys all make me laugh!! I used to freeze all winter, but now with my HOT flashes, I am totally confused, one extreme to the other!

From Kelli on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 18:24:27 from 71.219.96.151

That is some Yoga young lady!! Nice job!!!

I LOVE fall, love it. The weather is perfect. you can wear short sleeves or long, capris or pants, whatever you feel like. THIS is MY kind of weather.

Have a good rest of the day.

From Smooth on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 23:02:33 from 97.117.81.161

I LOVE Fall too. I'm with Leslie though, the hot flashes is confusing my body...then there's the what to wear outside...long sleeve, short sleeve, shorts, tights?

Oh, that yoga thought is so liberating! Marion, HOT chocolate with whip cream is calling you, forget the coffee :)

I need to restock my herbal tea supply :)

Fall is great in the midday, but I thought my hands would freeze this morning. And I'm not sure what to wear tomorrow morning, I don't need hot flashes to waffle about that.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 23:51:15 from 24.8.167.243

You all seem about evenly divided between loving and hating Fall. I would be okay with Fall, but this week we're skipping Fall and going straight to Winter.

Marion, have some hot chocolate for me. I've already had my allotment today.

From Kelli on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 00:01:20 from 71.219.96.151

The mornings may be chilly, but the afternoons are beautiful for going to the park, taking walks, riding bikes, sitting on the driveway while your kids ride bikes and reading a book...I LOVE FALL. And i am so sick of running in heat, I will take the cold. I will just wear gloves tomorrow morning, but I will still be in shorts. I love running in long sleeves and shorts. SERIOUSLY, this is the best time of year. AND, now the AC bill can go down....

From marion on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 12:24:10 from 71.213.124.121

OK here is my big problem with the Fall... WINTER IS NEXT ;) ...and, all of my 0 calorie treats are COLD. What are some good cold weather low calorie/0 calorie treats??? Please remind me :) Is Diet Pepsi good hot???

From Maurine/Tarzan on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 13:14:27 from 63.255.172.2

Sorry to hear the stinky news about your hip.

From leslie peterson on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 13:20:09 from 76.23.61.78

hmmmm..... hot Pepsi, might work!

From Kelli on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 17:22:01 from 71.219.96.151

Carrots....

Actually, they have plenty of sugar free hot cocoa, that is what I live on. Nothing beats zero calorie chocolate!!!!

From marion on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 17:35:47 from 71.213.124.121

Carrots???? Kellie, have you lost your marbles??? ;) I do like the zero point hot chocolate, but you can only have one packet for 0 points :( I like the bulk food items ;) The more the better ;D I guess I can eat carrots in bulk :p

From Kelli on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 17:38:41 from 71.219.96.151

One cup of hot chocolate every 2-3 hours....and carrots stink, but when you are hungry enough, they are mighty tasty.

From LuzyLew on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 17:48:51 from 208.187.197.42

OK, I have to weigh in on the snack fest over here. But I like salty snacks and if you can handle a day of slight water retention, there is nothing more delicious and satisfing that miso soup. You can buy miso paste at Sunflower. You just heat up water, throw in the a few tablespoons of miso paste (to taste, not too much) and grated carrots and green onion. I used to dice tofu into it too for protein, but have since read a lot of bad things about how tofu is made :( But soup is warm, it's yummy, and it fills you up. I've also been known to drink chicken broth and chopped fresh cilantro because I love hot soup when it gets cold. Also, the Spanish drink hot milk with sugar (agave or fake sugar if you like). It's feels so good when it's cold out. I'll have to think some more about sweets. But brothy soup is m vote when you're cold and hungry and need to skip all the calories.

From leslie peterson on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 18:05:59 from 76.23.61.78

Thanks Luz!!! Something new to try!!!

From marion on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 18:06:58 from 71.213.124.121

Thanks Luz :) I'll have to get some miso :) I do have the water retention problems :( but if I am sparse, it is not bad :) Chinese food kills me :) I sure love MSG though ;D I have never tried warm milk, I'll have to try it. Oh and I have decided that I want to move to the equator.

OK, Dr. Kelli, I will take the hot chocolate as prescribed ;) Carrots for the bunny ;)
