I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

Marion - good job on getting 6 in. Do not worry if you don't get 6 more in. By doing your 20 miler on Monday you have proven to yourself that you are ready for the marathon. You don't gain any fitness the last couple of weeks before and it might do you good to rest more.

Thanks Maurine :) I needed to permission to not do it.

Two short weeks. It's pretty much taper time anyway, right?

What maurine said.

Also, I'm trying to find a way to be in Utah for the RHPC 1/2 marathon. No promises yet, but I'm working on it. What time in the morning are you starting the race?

You have my permission too! Kick back and know you will ROCK!

Yeah, Carolyn, I hope you come out and join us for the 1/2!!!!!

Is this your highest mileage week ever? Good job on all your running. Now - ease up and get ready to party in 2 weeks!

Sorry about the feet! Bummer, bad body parts can hold us back!

Nice work Marion, just getting out is 1/2 the battle and I agree with the resting comments. A wise person with ample marathon experience once told me "you can't do anything to help yourself in the last 2 weeks before a marathon, you can only hurt yourself!" So keep that in your head as the next couple weeks pass...You'll rock that course!!!

From Smooth on Sat, May 30, 2009 at 23:19:48 from 71.32.237.170

I agree with all of the above. Time to taper and let all the achy parts recover. Great mileage this week. GOOD JOB!
