Laps- 11:11, 12:55, 12:39, 13:41.  4 miles outside- Literally ice all over me and icicles formed on my eyelashes.  My legs were frozen until the last mile.  My feet were just numb by then.  It was about 8 degrees.

Will do more on the treadmill after work.

*** I did one mile on the treadmill barefooted.  My feet are slippery.  My calves are not liking the treadmill at all anymore.  They seize up like a rock within a 1/2 mile.  Oh well.  5 milee tomorrow and 7 or 8 on saturday.  I am liking this taper thing.

## Ab work- http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=486

This makes it so I can't laugh without pain!  The workout ROCKS!!  The guy in the shorts is pretty hot too ;)  WINK WINK!!

You're a beast! By the way, there is a new magazine called Women's Running and Yaktrax that you put on your shoes to run in the snow. Thought they might be useful to you if you hadn't seen them before! And only 20 bucks or so.

Thanks Kelsey! How are you? Did you have a nice Christmas? I bet you are toasty warm ;)

From lucia on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 12:05:03

Yaktrax are awesome! And you are so tough Marion, way to get out on that weather!

From Kelli on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 13:12:52

What the heck time did you go out and run? It was in the mid-30's here!! Crazy woman, but it still beats a treadmill and you are done for the day!

I need to get that new magazine, I love magazines!!!!

From kelsey on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 14:16:42

I just realized my comment didn't make much sense. I meant to say the magazine wrote a little write up on Yaktrax, but you knew what I meant :)

Icicles on your lashes! You're the ice queen!

You're rapidly approaching your 40 mile/week goal, stud!

From Smooth on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 16:10:45

Can we just call you IQ for short? WAY to get out there in single digit. Did you wear your HOT PINKs?

From leslie on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 16:51:32

Way to go Ice Woman!!!

From Marion on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 16:58:58

That's ICE QUEEN!!! ;)

I went after 8. The highway to Salem is very low and is about 10 degrees colder for some reason :)

MIKE- YOU'RE BACK!!!

From leslie on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 20:54:51

Ice Goddess!!!

From The Howling Commando on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 21:19:20

Tapers are always fun!

Wait wait.. 1 mile barefoot AND on the treadmill? Holy Monkeys! That's redonk! I think my feetsies would fry off from the friction! Burnt Howling Commando toesies a la carte!

From Marion on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 21:24:32

Benn- you crack me up! My hubby has pansy feet. Mine are like really rough leather. Tough as nails! ;)

From Kelli on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 21:52:38

Benn is a funny one. That post made me laugh out loud!

From Smooth on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 23:26:44

Marion,

That's the same "Around the World" core work I use. I got that link from Teena. The first time I saw that clip I was laughing hysterical. That's a great core workout.

Do you go bare feet all day? I used to; not any more. Now I wear crocs around the house.

From Marion on Fri, Jan 09, 2009 at 00:28:16

Yes- Rachel(KungfuBlonde) told me about that one. It really makes me sore, so it must work ;)

I do run around barefooted. I am supposed to be wearing my birks, but I hate shoes to be worn in my house. It feels so naughty. It's a habit from when I was a kid. "no shoes in the house!!!" grrrrr! (the growl is my mom ;)

From Becca on Fri, Jan 09, 2009 at 08:15:13

Wow...barefoot on the treadmill?? I think I'd be too scared to try it! A friend of mine fell while running on the treadmill (the joke is that she was drooling over a cute guy in the weight room) and friction was not her friend!

I'll have to give that ab workout a try, thanks for sharing it! Does it work better if you wear super-short shorts like the guy in the demo?

From Marion on Fri, Jan 09, 2009 at 10:57:34

Oh yeah- The shorter the shorts the better the result! ;)
