I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

Lousy treadmill miles.  My legs are still a bit achy today which is OK ;)  I am going to run 3, then 4, then 5 for the rest of the week.  I just want to give myself  a nice rest week to avoid any possibly lurking injuries.

I had a very long and WONDERFUL massage today.  I am really glad I scheduled one.  I am going to plan one after every race from now on!

I just had the best time this past weekend.  I am so grateful that I found this blog.  I so happy with running and I am just loving it!  I LOVE you all!!!

Happy Monday!!! :D

Marion!!! That's a good "reverse taper plan". Smart to play it by ear. I'll bet the massage feels heavenly. I heard that it helps to drink plenty of water after the massage too.

I had the BEST time this weekend too!!! THANKS to you and all our blog friends. I sure hope we get to have many more fun times like that together in the future. Have a great week. :)

Thanks Smooth- The massage was heaven!! I drank 32 oz immediately after the massage and another 32 a few hours later.

I miss you guys!!

From Smooth on Mon, Jan 19, 2009 at 23:02:16

I miss you too! Next time we should pre-schedule a massage session for us girls post race, wouldn't that be fun?

From Marion on Mon, Jan 19, 2009 at 23:09:52

oooh yeah! Hobble Creek! We have got to plan post race parties for all of the race!

From Kylee on Mon, Jan 19, 2009 at 23:10:31

Wow Marion! A massage is a great idea. Maybe I'll have to add that tradition, too. You inspire me, sis-in-law!!

From Marion on Mon, Jan 19, 2009 at 23:14:41

You are right on Kylee! Traditions are a beautiful thing when they include an awesome massage :D

I love your attitude!! You are always so upbeat and happy. You are a great example. Thanks for being such an awesome person. It was great seeing you this weekend. You did Awesome!!

Good call on the massage! We have a massage chair (I had to buy one after my other running friends moved and took theirs with them!)

Sounds like a good plan to stave off the injuries!

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 08:50:54

You are always thinking girl! A post massage is paradise! Pre race food gatherings with the gang and post race massages for the girls! Sounds like the perfect combination! You have a nice solid plan Marion for your week! Way to go!!

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 10:22:18

Les- we just all need to move into a runners paradise (55 am temp 83 degrees in the afternoon) cul de sac somewhere and then we can run together every morning and lie by the pool in the afternoon sipping our diet pepsi! Our husbands can clean out houses and then cook us an amazing grilled dinner and serve us pool side :)

From tarzan on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 10:30:30

Darn! You got 2 miles in! I was thinking I would win our competition.

Good job on the recovery. It sounds like a sound plan.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 10:38:04

I'm a bit stubborn and probably won't skip unless I am VERY sick or have a broken leg or someone dies ;) But it sounds like Kelli and Leslie are taking us out to lunch soon :)

From tarzan on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 10:48:15

LOL - I am even stubborner. Heck - I'd do it if I was sick or someone died. It would take major surgery or a broken leg to stop me. Oh wait - I walked for weeks on a stress fracture.....

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 11:07:46

First of all, I want in on the Runners Paradise Culdesac! I can see it now! It would be so cool knocking on each others doors.... "Can I please borrow a strawberry gu and some electrolyte tabs"? and instead of complimenting each other on our Sunday apparel we would say "Nice pair of Brooks!"

Secondly, Tarzan and Marion, you are WAY to stubborn for me! I will glady buy lunch! I think I am too much of a rebel,I am always cheating and cutting corners!

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 11:23:53

The cul de sac is on! We will start taking applications immediately.

GO STUBBORN GO!!!! :D

From tarzan on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 11:26:36

I can't move to the cul de sac.

Odee would eat Twilight as a snack.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 11:27:59

What if we get Twilight some platform shoes and feed him/her doggie steroids? We could get Odee on anti-psychotics :)
