Rest day. :D  My experiment was a success.  I only gained 1.4 pounds from yesterday :)  On the 18 miler I went up 12.  Apparently I don't need as much salt as I have been taking in.  (I went up 4.2 after Ogden).  Yesterday, I drank only water and took gu or shock blocks on the run.  I did have a bit of a calf twitch yesterday and added some salt to my water ;)

I feel pretty darn good today.  I'd love to go for a bike ride, but I really think I need to give the bod a rest, so I will.  Tomorrow I will ride my bike and then Thursday take a jog.

Oh, yesterday, I had a tummy ache all afternoon.  It finally settled down in the evening.  Last night I did 3 sets of 25 arm exercises that Maurine showed me and 20 push ups.

***64 minutes of FABULOUS biking and BEAUTIFUL weather!  I rode further today again.  I must be getting used to it.  A flying somebody bounced off of my iPod earbud thing.  Dang it!  No sting today, just a thump and buzzz.  I am STARVING today.   :)

Glad to hear you are feeling good. I hope to run and lift weights tonight - but it is already looking like a 12 hour workday.

Sorry about the LONG day. I am so thrown off by yesterday NOT being Saturday, I can't get my mind around it being Tuesday :) Good luck with your run and workout.

So you think that the weight gain from a long run is water retention? I always figured it was because I tend to let myself pig out after a long run.

I could have sworn that yesterday was Saturday and it really felt like today should be Sunday. How the heck did it get to be Tuesday? The week has been scrambled.

Yeah- I am pretty sure that it is mainly water. I do eat to much usually, but I am pretty puffed up after usually.

I am glad that I am not the only one who is totally confused about what day it is :S It is making me feel like I am forgetting stuff.

Nice recovery Marion! And I'm glad your 'experiment' worked...I always seem to go up a couple-5 after the 'long' ones too. Maybe I'll have to take a longer look at my diet!!

I wish I had a recovery day from the weekend, that would be nice.

You inspire me, seriously! Way to attack your goals. Anything is possible girl.

Thanks Bec and RAD :) I pretty much lied- I am going to go for a bike ride as soon as the 14 year old gets home. It is too nice outside and I am TOO hungry to sit in my house. I am STARVED today!!! I've almost eaten a WHOLE pineapple! I want a hot dog and chips, but will settle for sushi for dinner and maybe a 2 liter of diet coke. I've had a bowl of this yummy homemade ice cream I made on sunday- LOW FAT/ LOW CALORIES!!! It is SO yummy. I am just craving FOOD! I love it when I get this hungry... it usually means that I will be dropping some weight soon :)

I am so glad that you are feeling good after your long run and that you did not gain weight like crazy! That can be stressful (just ask me, I still have to weigh in before the 31st---why didn't i do it like two weeks ago???)

Go for the bike ride, it will feel great!

Oh and I have eaten an ENTIRE pineapple. My tongue feels REALLY weird.

From RAD on Tue, May 26, 2009 at 19:32:36 from 67.166.99.8

I LOVE to eat a whole pineapple!! I can do it at the drop of a hat :) But it does make for a raw tongue/mouth for the next few days...not to mention the all that fiber :) ENJOY!! hehehe

Sorry I didn't post about your long run... but you rock girl!! Also good to see that you are recovery from it.

But I don't recommend the entire pineapple.. those leaves are pretty pokey no wonder your tongue feels weird LOL!
