Very long story short, but we had a MAJOR miracle and did not DIE this morning!!!  Here goes:

Miracle #1  The young womens leader who was supposed to make the English Toffee Popcorn has never done it before so I said I would do it for her last night.

Miracle #2  I decided to speed up the rising of the raspberry cinnamon rolls by putting them in the oven at 5:30 am.  Thought I smelled some gas, but figured it was the popcorn?

Miracle #3 I decided to go back to bed and run after the girls did their fundraiser

Miracle #4  Becasue the chocolate would not harden on the popcorn, we had all of the windows open in the kitchen ALL NIGHT

Mracle #5 Kate closed the windows about 7 am

Miracle #6 Ashley and I ran a 10 minute errand at 7:30

Miracle #7 Did not get distracted with the Young Woman and came straight home to find the house FILLED with gas!!!!

What was going to happen-- I was going to go running for 2.5+ hours at 6am and my kids would have never noticed the gas.  Kate would have shut the windows and no one would have noticed the gas.  If we haddn't had the windows opened all night long we every well might have not woken up to have today anyway.

I, of course, tried to shut off the gas and could not- the gas guy came and fixed us all up.  Well, actually the stove is pretty bad off, so we are stove-less, but David's birthday is Tuesday so HE can get a new stove for his birthday :)  (I don't want a stove for Mother's Day ;)  The gas guy said they evacuate when there is a 1% reading.  It was 19% by the stove :(

My run was OK- I was pretty tired and my toe was driving me NUTS!!  I drank the Gatorade Endurance Maurine gave me at mile 3,6,8,10(1/2),11(1/2)  I ate shot blocks at 6 and gu at ~8.5.  Thanks Maurine :)

Oh Marion scary scary scary! Your guardian angels were certainly doing their work! Good job on your 12 miles. You will soon be a marathon mama!

From RAD on Sat, May 09, 2009 at 16:57:53 from 67.166.99.8

I'm SOOOOO Glad you had your miracles this morning! Heaven has definately blessed your family!! Nice job on the run - does 12 seem like a cake walk yet? What's up with your toe? how long has it been bugging you?

From maurine on Sat, May 09, 2009 at 17:51:36 from 97.117.66.96

Wow - good thing you are such a great person and God is watching over you. I am so glad things turned out well. It would have been horrible to have running take out your family.

Good job on the 12 miler. What did you think of the Gatorade Endurance?

I have just finished trading out all my winter running gear for my summer running gear. You can tell you are a runner when that is more important than changing out your winter work clothes for summer work clothes.

Thanks guys :) It's all good, we aren't dead AND I get a new stove :) I do love our old 1940'S Wedgwood stove, but it will be cute as a planter outside ;)

Maurine- I really liked the taste and I am super hydrated now and feel GREAT!!! No sadness, no inability to urinate :) Happy girl!!! I may be over fueling during my runs, but I'd rather do that than suffer the consequences of under-fueling ;)

That is a miracle! Soooo VERRYY scarey! I am so glad you got home quick and all was well!! David will love his new stove for his BD present!!!

Good luck on your talk tomorrow and a very Happy Mother's Day to you!!

Yeah, I do want a mansion next to yours, along with all the other RHPC's!

From marion on Sat, May 09, 2009 at 18:33:30 from 71.213.104.28

Leslie- HOLA!!! We are going to have such beautiful gardens and a fabulous swimming pool! Thanks about the talk. I am going for the Virtue talks from the last two conferences. I hate talking about "mothers" :P

Marion, I'm so glad everything worked out OK that is very scary!! Fun that you get a new stove though.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, May 09, 2009 at 20:45:55 from 71.229.164.25

Wow Marion. I'm glad you're all okay.

You have to give a talk on Mother's Day? Maybe you like giving talks, but I'm sure glad I don't have to speak. I'm even cancelling choir practice.

Congratulations on your new stove.

Great run!

WOW, Thank the Lord you and your family did not get hurt.

From rattletrap on Sun, May 10, 2009 at 00:10:22 from 24.19.93.139

I'm glad you're all OK. Have you thought about replacing that stove with an electric one? :) I've always been scared of gas appliances.

From marion on Sun, May 10, 2009 at 11:55:29 from 71.219.62.210

Thanks guys- and yes, we are very grateful to our Father in Heaven that everything worked out PERFECTLY and all are safe :) I have always believed in miracles, and feel so blessed when God grants me the privilege of being able to see one so clearly :)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

RT- for an electric stove, we'd have to get a new power line run to our home and a new box :( Plus have a 220 line run to our stove :(

We did find a beautiful new gas stove with a convection oven. It has the regular 4 burners with an oval one in the middle and a griddle that can be used over the middle oval burner. It is black and stainless steel. It arrives Tuesday morning :) (that is David's birthday)

From marion on Sun, May 10, 2009 at 12:01:23 from 71.219.62.210

CArolyn- Speaking in church was somewhat a bust ;) I wa curling my hair and started to get a migraine :p I am glad it happened right before I had to speak, instead of right after :D If I have to have a migraine on Mother's Day, it may as well get me out of speaking ;D

From Smooth on Sun, May 10, 2009 at 21:16:49 from 71.36.74.243

Marion,

Just got back from Gunnison, nephew's homecoming!

Holy smoke! That was SCARY! I'd hate to think what might have happened. YIKES!!! Miracles indeed! I like cooking with gas. My stove top is gas. My oven is electric. Sounds like you're getting a nice new stove for David's birthday. How was your talk? Hope you had a very HAPPY MOTHER's DAY? No breakfast in bed since there was no stove? BTW, nice 12 miler!!!

From marion on Sun, May 10, 2009 at 21:59:29 from 71.219.56.75

Smooth- No breakfast... apparently if the stove is broken so is the griddle and waffle irons (we have 3). I am a bit bitter. I also was just getting ready to leave for church and my silly blind spots started for a Mother's day Migraine :( David called the bishop to let him know I would be dogging the meeting. I can't see for about 40-60 minutes when the migraine starts :p If I had to have a migraine on Mother's day, at least it happened before my talk and not after ;) it would have been a bummer to have to speak on Mothers day AND have a migraine ;D I'm just kidding, well not really :) did you have a nice Mother's day. I feel like the little black rain cloud from Winnie the Pooh.
