ran 3.  left knee hurt first mile.  Sucked wind the next two miles.  at the start of mile 4 the right knee gave out entirely with pain. I tried running a few times after walking a ways, but the pain returned. By the time I got home, the knee was bothered by walking.  I have a dr appt today.  I pretty much want to quit.  I have had it.  On the brighter side, my back is really doing much better over all.  I feel like it is finally really healing :)  I am so mad right now I could spit nails, but since I hate the taste of nails, I'm just going to settle for crying.

** Dr update-  Brady said that the knees are not serious and will be fine :)  He beat them up and then did acupuncture with some homeopathic drugs.  He says I can run on Fri or sat and that next week I can add one more day.  He popped my "drama" balloon :)  I am glad.  I go back next week.  Oh, the diagnosis for the right knee, weak hammies.   He gave me some torture-esque exercises to do with the yoga ball to strengthen the hamstrings.  I guess all of this time off made my hammies wimps.  Diagnosis for the left knee... since the pain is exactly where the bruise was from the accident, it is probably just some latent injury that is chiming in as my miles go up.  He thinks he's got it covered.  We shall see.  I need more faith and patience.

Oh Marion. Here's a (((virtual hug))) for you.

From Alice on Tue, Feb 22, 2011 at 16:32:36 from 166.205.10.133

Rehab is the only good place for quitting!! You have come a long way so keep with it. Just remember you are getting stronger and sometimes baby steps are needed. From what I already know about you, you are so much stronger than any little hiccup life throws your way! I hope the knee feels better real soon. Maybe he is a friend of Brutus' and kneeds(pun intended) a good butt kicking!

You never know on the first pain day how serious it will be, but all the worst case scenarios run through your mind. So sorry your knees are hurt. Aren't you glad I hooked you up with Dr. Brady? Wait--that didn't sound good. I hate how that phrase has been hijacked and nastified.

(:P--that is for not calling me back)

What is up with you Utah Mormons?

Michelle- lol. sorry I couldn't take you call. I was getting a psych consult from my BIL. I can't keep yelling at drivers whenever I run ;)

Burt- Thanks for the hug. I needed that!

Alice- You are so nice :) I am not feeling very strong these days. I am feeling like a drama queen...

You are very strong. I'm glad you got good news from the Dr.

What?? You hooked up with Dr. Brady? I thought you said he wasn't your type :) I hope you can show me sometime the yoga ball hamstring excersizes. I always need to strengthen up the back side. Sorry, too about your popped drama-baloon. Mine pops alot too.

From Smooth on Thu, Feb 24, 2011 at 01:29:47 from 67.2.85.71

:) Glad Dr. Brady gave your knee a beating, *straightened* out the kinks and even popped the drama-balloon! :)

Keep your chin up! Spring is coming...that means the red hot pink chica is ready to partee!

Sometimes we all need that drama balloon popped, I'm glad it got done for you and you can gain back some confidence in yourself and your AMAZING abilities. That body of yours is just having a hard time keeping up with your mind and need to run right now. Your patience is amazing - keep it up!

From marion on Sat, Feb 26, 2011 at 20:15:07 from 71.213.114.239

yep :)

From Maurine/Miles on Sat, Feb 26, 2011 at 20:21:26 from 97.117.74.26

Glad the drama balloon was popped. Are you doing the swiss ball exercise where you lay on your back and make a bridge and pull the ball into your butt and then out again?

From marion on Mon, Feb 28, 2011 at 23:48:20 from 71.213.123.88

Maurine- yep, those are the ones. My son was bonking the ball today while I was trying to do them. I finally had to scream at him ;)
