I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

1:06:12, ave 13:14, best 8:26, Splits- 12:09 (with walking and the BEAST downhill), 12:50, 13:28, 13:51, 14:39(.7, the beast up hill), 11:57(.3 walking on snow and sprinting on dry ground)

It felt GREAT to be outside.  I had a bit our trouble shaking the negative treadmill attitude, but I did and I am SO HAPPY!!!

Since my first real race is not until May (Ogden1/2) I am going to stick around 30-35 miles per week until March 1st.  I have been really getting frustrated with the weather and this just gives me some flexibility with my running so I don't FREAK out if I don't get in all the miles and workouts I have planned in.  They say that one month a year needs to be a recovery month so I am going to take advantage of these last few winter weeks and try to relax and not back slide too much.  My number one goal is to run injury free FOREVER and ever, so NOT adding miles for a month won't kill anyone ;)

I concure, agree, amen, echo, nod my head to what you said. YES, no FREAKING out if we don't get our miles in, RECOVERY is GOOD, PAIN FREE ROCKS!!! INJURY FREE RULES SUPREME!!!

BTW, AWESOME 5 miler and conquering the BEAST, so GLAD you were able to get outside before another stinkin' storm hits.

Way to go getting outside and getting it done! I wimped out, still being paranoid about slipping on the ice again, but hope by Friday, unless we get more bad weather. You're mileage is great! Keep it up and Ogden 1/2 will be a breeze for you.

Consistency is the key, and you've been more consistent than most (including myself). Rest up, stay healthy, and you'll be ready to blast some races in the spring!
