David and I went swimming this morning for 45 minutes :)  I did great, by comparison two the last two times :)  I even did some butterfly.  I am going to work on it and get better this year.  I can't wait to get running next week.  I am concerned that I have a bit of an injury in my left quad.  The swelling is virtually gone.  6.6#'s down since monday.  By next week everything should be good.  I am going to call Dr Brady today and see if I can get in this afternoon or Monday after work.  I'd wait until monday, but it is getting worse each day and not better :(

Today I am going to make the lighter version of the granola bars.  I am off to my Melting Marion blog to blog the antics of my points disaster yesterday :(

Good job for swimming Marion! I want to start swimming but I am seriously lacking in the stroke technique area! I would love you to run TOU in September since I don't know anyone else running it, but I don't want you to get injured. I am trying to talk my sister Elise into running it with me. She is running a hard leg of the wasatch back relay this weekend and is in good shape. Hey my sister Darcy, (who is 38 wks pregnant) has swine flu! Is Ash all better? We need to come visit! I totally want to run that half marathon with you July 11th.

Kylee- I would LOVE to do TOU with you :) I just can't do it :( I will get injured :p I do know lots of people running it :) Check out Maurine/Tarzan. She is great! I'll introduce you to everyone at the 1/2 on the 11th. You met Maurine at the Breast cancer thing last year. Yes, we need to get together. You should go to Corrines restaurant opening tomorrow. I will forward you the info.

Take care of that quad. I'm jealous of your swimming ability. I'm really a lousy swimmer. Maybe someday I'll take swimming lessons.

Glad you got a workout in. Let me know about the quad and the granola. Take care!

Sorry I couldn't talk longer, but for very specific problems I would recommend a sports massage therapist or your doctor. I give a great pampering massage and can give a nice deep massage for general msucle fatigue post marathon, but I am not real specific or technical. I hope you can get the right answers you need. I really think if you rest up for the weekend, ice and put some Tigers Balm on the injured area and give it a gentle massage it will help. The Tigers Balm brings the blood to the surface and aids in healing. I wish I had more advice.

Your swimming sounds like the perfect Xcrosstraining with your sore quad. Good job!

Hola Ladies!!1 :) I am pretty sure that it is injured :( I am going to do what Les suggests over the weekend. It will heal :) If it is still mad next week, I will just bike and swim everyday and go see Dr. Brady on Monday :)

Carolyn- come over and I will teach you how to swim :) there is an adult swim team here and David and I are thinking about it. I just have so many lumps and bumps that slow me down. My sisters used to joke about how they were SO much faster at back stroke because of less resistance ;) I guess flat bums have a place in this world ;)

I picked up some of that K(something) tape that Teena taped Smooth's knee up with for the UVM. I wanted to have some available for my next injury (maybe having it will prevent me from getting one).

Good plan Miles :) I hope it works for you. I fear My quad is strained pretty good. I made a mistake by jogging on Monday (or was that tuesday?) no matter. The swelling in my left leg is from the strain. I am going to ice it and stay off of it until monday. the poor thing. It was such a good muscle group for the marathon and I have not taken enough care to heal it :( I let the post marathon euphoria get me :( Oh well, live and learn.

did you know that frozen un popped popcorn is the GREATEST ice pack?
