I hate the treadmill. :P  I need 5 miles today but it is not going to happen.  Maybe I can force myself to do another 1.25 tonight.  Snow snow go away!  I guess I should not have slept in this morning.  I am feeling very tired and lazy with all of this rain and snow!

Go see my sister, she is new on the blog- Running Rinny :)

There seems to be a bad case of the treadmills going around.

From marion on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 17:13:52

It's bad around here. I think we are just all wanting to get warm again!!!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 17:14:41

We don't nearly as much snow as you have, but it is cooooold.

You didn't force an orange on Mac to get out of working out today, did you?

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 17:33:53

At least the treadmill keeps your new shoes clean. :) My new shoes were ruined by the icky slush/snow/ice today. {{{sigh}}} No forcing oranges on Mac, just give them all to me, I'm not allergic to 'em. I LOVE oranges!

I need 5 miles and I also slept in today. Now it is cold, dark, and blowing snow so it looks like I have to hit the treadmill too. Misery loves company? ;-)

Hi Marion,

The screw shoes really do work. I've done three runs in them of 8,8, and 10 miles in icy and snowy conditions. I do use a cushion insert in my tennis shoe when I wear them just because I thought my shoes did not have that thick of soles.

If you want to see a pic and instructions, I posted them on my other blog at:

http://irishblue.blogspot.com/2009/01/snow-snow-everywhere.html

Several other runners in my running club also wear them, as does my husband who wore his to run outside tonight.

Thanks Melisa. I saw them online at the beginning of the winter and had not found a runner who had tried them. I may try them on some old shoes to see what I think :) Thanks for the link :D

Smooth- sorry about your new shoes. I bet they are still so cute and tiny ;) Unlike my BOATS!

Maurine- Mac will not touch an orange now, even to get me out of treadmill running ;)

Carolyn- I am sorry about the cold! It's supposed to warm up to 38 by the end of the week ;)
