Lori Metcalf (MetcalfRunning) would love to host a Post Ogden Party at her home.  Anyone game?  She lives about 10-15 minutes from the end of the race.  She can also arrange a restaurant possibly, if that is preferable :)  Isn't Lori the BEST!!! :)  THANKS LORI!!!

I am devastated!!!  I spaced Hobble Creek 1/2 registration :(  It is full :(

Dang it, that race is full? ARRRR. That makes two of us... Oh well, we have that hot pink chick one.

From Snoqualmie on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 11:24:44 from 67.171.56.164

Girl, you're not *supposed* to have zip yet! lol That's your muscles getting stronger and you must let them have their vacation. So sorry to hear you can't do Hobble Creek.

From Bec on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 11:29:23 from 205.123.38.151

Marion,

I wonder if we have the same kind of injury. Does it hurt in the middle of your thigh when you lift it up? Like getting out of a car? You are not a whimp if you are dealing with the kind of pain I have. Well, maybe we are whimps together ;).

From RAD on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 13:22:11 from 67.166.99.8

Nice job getting out and getting it done today...especially with no zip - makes it SO much harder to just do it!

I'd love to hang after Ogden, if I'm still alive and can move :)

I had no idea you could already sign up for Hobble Creek...I really wanted to do that one too :(

From Metcalf Running on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 13:37:04 from 207.225.192.66

Should we do post or pre? What do people prefer?

Nice run today... no zip is never a fun way to run, but you are really doing amazing!

I have never done Hobble Creek... looks like I won't again :( Maybe next year.

Bummer on missing the signup. You could do the Park City Half on the same day and see a lot of us full marathoners.

I could do a post race get together, but have plans with Leslie for the night before to drive the OV50 route after picking up our packets (marion - license copy - hint, hint, hint).

From Smooth on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 15:02:37 from 71.36.82.104

GOOD for you in doing a recovery run! The zip will come back soon enough. I'm staying at the Marriott next to the finish line...let me know where and when the party is.

Come run the Park City Half instead. It's the same day as Hobble Creek. The reason why I've never run Hobble Creek. Then we can party at Park City. I'm trying to get a spot on the old house there for that weekend.

From Burt on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 15:04:48 from 68.76.197.194

I'm not going to do Ogden, but if you put me on speaker phone I'll party with you.

From leslie on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 16:04:48 from 76.23.61.78

bummer about Hobblecreek!

I am not sure what is happening with us after Ogden, but keep us posted!!!

You have to read my blog Marion, I am one happy girl!!!!!!!

ARe you doing Ogden half? I didn't realize that last week.....Oh man.

From JulieC on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 19:26:02 from 71.35.212.223

I also heard the top of utah half is the close to this weekend as well. I am so sad I didn't sound the alarm to you as well. I reminded several of my friends (I didn't get in last year) this year. It was a bummer. So Melanie and I hosted our own Simulated Hobble Creek run the morning before Hobble Creek. The mile markers are on the ground and we pushed ourselves being not as much of an adrenaline rush but we were desperate for this run. We ran it earlier and so temps were nicer too!! I believe the TOU half was the same day.

Marion,

FYI, I map quested from the 25th street to my house to see what the miles/time is Estimated Time: 16 minutes Estimated Distance: 8.73 miles

That's not too bad of a distance to come and hang out after the race.

From kellies on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 01:24:29 from 66.119.143.249

Nice job on the run!! I am so sorry you didn't get into Hobble Creek. I think I am going to check into the Provo Half too. It is August 8th and a really nice course if you haven't run it before!! Let us know about the post race party for Ogden. Tyler and I would be up there and game to gather with fellow bloggers!!!

From kellies on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 01:31:15 from 66.119.143.249

Okay update!! I just logged on to Trailrun.com and Provo half is opened and taking registrations. You can print out a form online and mail it in to save $5 or pay online for $35 total. This is a BEAUTIFUL course and I have really come to love this race. Last year I did it and they changed the ending a little but it is a fun ending. They have a live band, pancakes, all sorts of fun, free stuff!!! Let me know if you decide to do it and so we can plan to meet up!! I printed my form out and plan to mail it off tomorrow!!! PS, the only down side in the past has been the shirts. The last few years have just been cotton. Not sure you care too much about that, but thought I would let you know!!~

From maurine/tarzan on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 09:14:44 from 63.255.172.2

Kellie - did you run a different race than the rest of us? I guess I remember the start being delayed because they messed up the bus turnaround, being shoved onto concrete for miles, a dismal lack of port-a-potties, etc. I like the normal course (and will probably run this race again) - but think it is poorly organized for as long as it has been around.

From marion on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 15:09:44 from 71.219.54.64

I am not sure what race I will do. I may do the Park City 1/2 the same day as Hobble creek or the provo half. I really like being close to home :) and I LOVE to party with our friends :)
