I went and bought a reflective vest and a gaiter.  Of course I did not get out until 9:30 this morning.  Too warm in bed, too relaxing with David home, TOO cold outside (32 degrees).  I asked David if we could move ;)  Once I got myself out there, man it was georgous!  The colors up the canyon and all over the mountains are UNREAL!   The run felt just fine.  I was a bit pooped for the last mile, but the split did not show it too much.  Tomorrow is an 8 miler with Kim.  I needed less miles Saturday, so we tacked them on to the Friday run.

The weight is still dropping ;)  I am trying not to be too excited.  BUT I AM!!!   hahahahahahahahahahhahah (evil laugh)

Yeah for the run! Yeah for the weight loss!!! The winter is tough on us California girls, but we will survive!! I am back on track on my weight loss mission after my little get-a-way, I need to some results! I guess that means I need to be serious. Here I come!!!

From montelepsy on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:24:06

On California boys too. My first trip to Omaha was in Jan. I packed the warmest clothes I had. I froze before I reached my rental car in the airport parking lot.

The scenery seems like it would make the cold worth it though.

Score for the cool running gear! Double score for the foliage! Glad you guys are finally getting some of the beautiful colors we've had here in the last few weeks. You are a rockin' chica!

From Marion on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:32:51

Cool... you have No idea! I nearly bought a spiderman ski mask. Walmart has the Hulk, Spidey, Iron Man and Batman. I am going to have to go back and get the spiderman one! I just can't help myself. They come with matching gloves!!! I have a red running shirt, all I need are red runnig tights.

From Kelli on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 21:00:42

SpiderMarion, what a sight! Gotta love Wal Mart.

Okay, I have SO derailed on the eating. I need help or therapy or a muzzle or something. I am eating pizza as we speak.

On the other hand, I am so happy for you!!! That is awesome, you rock and you even went on vacation! Pleas, my WW leader, teach me to control myself!

From leslie on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 22:19:26

Kelli, I feel your pain, I just stepped on the scale and CRAP I am sooooo ticked! I need you too Marion, I am getting quite "cowish" and it is getting me depressed, so depressed I may have to go sneak some choc. chips out of the freezer. NO I WON'T! YES I WILL! I am afraid my "give a damn is busted" for the moment.

I went to yoga tonight, that ought to be worth something.

Good night girls! If you find a cute pink muzzle, let me know where...

From Kelli on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 22:28:48

Mine has been busted for about 3 weeks, and I saw it coming! I need to get in gear. I do so well...for about half of a day. CRAP! I can not start tomorrow, for it is Friday and that is just asking for failure! but I will try to at least have some control at the movie theater (small shake, not large).

Maybe I should start running 20 miles again every Saturday??

G'night! I am gonna go watch some DVR'd TV and NOT eat.

From marion on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 23:05:06

You guys are SO cool! I could tell you the secret to permantnent weight loss, but then I'd have to kill you. :D

Seriously- do you really want to unleash "Leader Marion?" WATCH OUT... HERE SHE COMES!!!!!!!

#1 you know what to do.

#2 DO IT!!!

#3 Seriously- you've got to be willing to eat the way you should. It has to be more important than anything else. If you are out of points, you're done. Now since we are runners, we've got to be really careful with the foods we choose for our points. You will not have enough fuel, if you eat too much crap. (I am a firm believe in a little bit of num-nums everyday) If you are going to count points, you've got to make your points COUNT!! (corney, I know)

I have been eating nearly all core foods for 3 meals and 2 snacks. I am not counting points, but I am making sure that my portions are VERY regular to small. If the family is going to have treats I have a diet pepsi.

This is really working for me. I feel great. I eat more the night before a long run.

Sorry guys- Leader Marion is a bit mouthy!

From leslie on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 09:11:41

Okay, I am going to stop making exceptions and doing what I know I need to do! Thanks for the kick in the pants!! Sounds like you are on a roll Marion! You look fabulous already so you are just fine tuning your machine now! I gotta go run now!

From Kelli on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 11:05:30

yes, #2 DO IT, would be my problem. I am doing it today! No excuses, no waiting until MOnday, TODAY!

Thanks LEADER Marion.

From leslie on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 11:46:04

me too Kelli! I think I am even going to bag our regular Friday date night out and make the Pumpkin Curry soup that I got from Marions website. Have you tried it Marion? I am going to have a good weekend! You girls are awesome! Thanks for your amazing example!!! I want to be like you!

From Teena on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 13:29:05

I LOVE EVIL LAUGHS!!!

Btw ... what is a gaitor?? Is it something that goes around your neck and mouth. I need something that might help with the asthma.

Nice job today!!

From marion on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 14:53:42

You can do it girls. Good thing you asked for a pep talk last night casue Leader Marion got BEAT DOWN on her run today and is GOING BACK TO BED!!! (but I am not going to eat anything today that is TOO much or TOO crappy ;) Maybe a bit too much Diet Pepsi, but that's it! ;D

Yes Teena- the Gaiter is a fleece neck thing that will pull up over your nose and mouth. I liked it in the cold!

From Kelli on Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 16:17:33

Leslie, I have no willpower. I still went on my date night (although I was miserable, but figured I would be more so at home with all 5 kids bugging me to be the mom) and I had a big old Chili's hamburger. I wasted the calories, casue I am so stuffy I can not really taste. After the movie, I had the biggest pumpkin shake I have ever seen in my life. Today has been no better---2 donuts, a Wendy's hamburger and fires and FROSTY.

I am sick of food and eating out and even ice cream. I do not know why I am even eating it--maybe for comfort becasue I feel like crud and I can not run becasue I can not breathe. I saw a number on the scale this morning that I have not seen since last May!!!

I am going to a meeting on Monday. ENOUGH is ENOUGH already!

From leslie on Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 18:38:58

Oh Kelli girl, my dear one, I am in the same nasty boat, my plans to cook a nice low calorie soup went right down the toliet and I ended up eating a HUGE Mexican dish that could have fed a family of six! I am at the highest weight I have been in a year!!! WE ARE GOING TO GET THIS DONE!!!!! Lets keep each other honest, true confessions help!! You really do look awesome girl, I don't know why you worry, but thats what we do!

From marion on Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 19:02:47

You two are funny :) This can be your confession page. Just keep coming back to this day to devulge your deep dark eatings.

would you two cut yourselves some SLACK!!!

From marion on Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 22:52:57

Ok I must confess. I had the PERFECT eating day :) hahahahahaha evil laugh! David and i split an entre at the mexican restaurant and then I had a dove candy bar for my weekly treat. I am feeling pretty good about life. This is the first friday and Saturday in FOREVER that I have not binged! I know you guys are not feeling the love right now, but who else I am going to tell? :D

From Kelli on Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 10:34:15

YEAH for you!! We are proud of you and are glad you are here to share with us and HELP us SLACKERS!!! You are my inspiration.

I did have a cruddy eating morning yesterday (dang donuts) and then a bad lunch (stupid Wendy's) but I had no snacks and a perfect dinner. Today is going to be a good day!!! The scale went down a little bit, so give me a perfect eating week next week ( I WILL do it) and some exercise, and hope for the BEST!

From marion on Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 10:37:31

Kelli- you are awesome- don't stress too much! It is really OK- do better today. Do a bit better tomorrow :) NO STRESS!!!! You are sick and when you are feeling better, you will do better :)

From Kelli on Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 10:48:27

I WILL, I WILL, I WILL! And I am going to go to a meeting, too!!! I wish you were the leader, that would brighten my day!
