I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

OK- how does that saying go- you can't judge a book by it's cover?  Well, you can't judge a run by the first mile :)  Boy that last mile felt GREAT!!  Maybe the training is working?  ;)  I broke that STUPID 1 hour mark for my five miles!  Whoo Hoo!!!  Anyway- I slept in and ran after school.  This is not great for a few reasons.  #1 my neuromas start to hurt a lot earlier, later in the day!  #2 Now I have to shower again.  #3 It is just WAY easier to get the run in first thing!

I hope everyone had a great day.  I hope to check out your blogs in a bit!

XOXOXOXO!!!

Sorry you had to run in the twilight hours, Marion! I agree. Morning runs are far superior to afternoon/evening ones!

But woot for breaking the 1 hour mark! Bummer that the "neuromas" started to hurt :(, but at least you broke the hour mark and were cooking like a hot tomale on that last mile!

yay for breaking an hour...I'm also super impressed with the applesauce. Next year cmay I come over and help you can..I need to watch an expert at work!

Ha catch me? I usually run in circles so it shouldn't be too hard :-P Plus I'm a sucker for coffee and yummy pizza. So just put some on the side of the track or road and you will sufficiently distract me enough to blaze on past me!

From marion on Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 20:12:30

Sarah- if you can get your hands on some apples and jars, I'd be glad to come over and help you (actually do it for you ;). Apple sauce is SUPER easy!!! REally fast and furious! The kids can help with it too. No sugar needed. This stuff ROCKS!!!

Benn- I am not a coffee drinker, si I am not sure any coffee I bring would taste right, but I make killer pizza and a mean cup of cocoa ;) If we ever get the chance to run together, I'll be sure to bring the "bait" to keep you from kicking my hiney!! ;)

I think Marion means Nestle's makes a mean cup of cocoa and she supplies it and the hot water...... :)

From marion on Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 21:36:52

Ok, Maurine- you rattes me out!! (But I really do know how to make some really killer hot cocoa with cream and milk chocolate! ;)

GREAT RUN!!!! Good for you for breaking the 60 minute mark! That is an awesome day. But, I do have to disagree, you got to run during my favorite time of day. I am faster and i am actually awake while I run in the afternoon. However, I hate showering twice and I hate that when you wait it is a 50/50 thing as th whether it actually gets done---I hear you there!

Congratulations on breaking the one hour barrier, and congrats on that smokin' 9:50 mile!
