Alright, I now I usually post and review my goals, but it will be a bit different this week.  Last weeks goals changed because of my calf.  I did very good at biking inplace of running.  My bum adjusted ;) and it went really well.  I liked it but I REALLY MISSED RUNING. I am pain free and have been for 3 days.  Tomorrow I am going to run a totally flat 2.5, possibly 4 miles, depending on feel.  I am going to go really slow and not push anything.   My only goal is to have a very mild uneventful week of running.  I really want to get all of my miles in (31), but I will modify if i feel like I may reinjure.  The Mama Calm came yesterday and I am talking it :P   Wish me luck.

Now for the serious stuff... The Police concert was AMAZING!!!  It really was.  Elvis Costello opened and rocked the joint.  I danced for 3 hours.  I wonder how many running miles that converts too.  We didn't get home until after 1 am.  (The exiting at Usana leaves something to be desierd)   It is by far the BEST birthday present I have ever given my husband :D  We went with my brother and his wife.  Adam, my bro, and David both got the tickets for their birthdays this year.  David turned 40 and Adam turned 30.  We, Mandy and I, didn't find out until after we bought the tickets that THe Police was not their favorite band ;)  and that neither of them liked Costello.  Oh well- WE (all of us) LOVED it and the boys had a much better time than they thought they would.  We were all amazed at how these guys could ROCK THE WORLD!  Aside from the exit procedure, the Usana was a fantastic venue and I would go there again :D  Who's going again, were game :)

Glad you had a good time. It shoulds like you are using common sense in your training.

WOW that sounds like so much fun!

Best of luck with your goals for this week, you can do it!

I hope so. This afternoon, my calf started to hurt again and I was limping again. I don't get it. All I did was go to church. That's it, NO MORE CHURCH!!! ;)

Do you have any suggestions. I am having a MAJOR anxiety attack about Hobble Creek. I don't like training snafoos! I alos do not want to set back my training any further than it already is. If I have to bike another week I will, but I DON'T WANT TO!!!!

Please help me!!!

Hehehe

Sorry you're hurting! Don't panic; that's the worse you can do! I had IT band issues before my marathon two years ago and freaked out, thinking I wouldn't be able to finish - but, you talk to people everywhere and everyone gives you a different stretch or another tip and somehow in the end it all works out!

I've never had calf issues like that, have you tried posting something on the discussion board? Are you stretching your calf lots, both against a wall, holding the down-dog Yoga pose, and standing on a step flexing your heel down the end of the step and moving it so it stretches all the different calf muscles? That's all that comes to mind now...

Maybe try running tomorrow and see if it gets better? Sometimes those pains go away just like that. And sometimes ibuprofen helps too!

All you did was go to church.... AND ROCK THE WORLD AND DANCE FOR THREE HOURS STRAIGHT!!! :D

From Lucia on Sun, Jul 20, 2008 at 21:15:02

Hahahahahaha! She gotcha there! :)

From marion on Sun, Jul 20, 2008 at 21:23:13

All right- you guys. I know, the rocker in me got the best of me last night. I wasn't too much of a dancer, my husband would have DIED- he's a bit shy, to put it mildly :)

OK- but seriously, would the pain delay for 14 hours? AHHHHHHHHHHHrg......

...Cute humming bird out my window, sipping nectar from my pink hollyhocks!...
