I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

Biking again today- 13:06 miles, 1:25:37, ave pace 6:33, best pace 3:36, laps- 12:19 (.37mi), 5:22, 6:20, 6:16, 7:00, 5:35, 7:07, 5:07, 6:32, 5:19, 5:39, 6:55, 8:24, 7:59(.69mi).

Alright- this biking thing is FUN!  DAvid went with me this morning and it was great!  I am sure I am not getting the same workout as I do with running, but it is WAY better than sitting around moping! Also, I must weigh in on the counting biking miles equally for running miles- this is bad.  Well for me, at least, they are no way comparable at all.  Mine calculate at about half the running miles to biking miles and that is probably too generous :(

We rode from our house (right by Peteetneet) to Salem Pond, then around the pond and to Spanish Fork (IFA) then back home via Arrow Head Trail.  I think for tomorrows ride we are going to go to Sonic in Spanish Fork for a smoothie :D  I need to remember to bring water!

My calf still hurts going down the stairs and I don't think I am limping today.  I can't tell right now because I have spaghetti legs from the bike ride ;)  I scraped them last night and boy did that feel good.  I don't have a "tool" so I used the edge of our tv remote ;)

Hey, maybe this is a good thing that you are liking the biking! I bet down your way traffic is not a big issue, it makes me nervous in SLC. Way to crosstrain! You get an A+ for turning lemons into lemonade!! Glad to hear the calves are feeling a little better, it looks like your training is still going STRONG!!! Keep it up!!

Good to see you find something else you enjoy:) I use biking as a form of crosstraining when needed, I love it as well. Good improvising on a Gua Sha tool. What ever works, I like spoons.

Do you use the flat back side or do you use the edge of really big ones?

From josse on Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 13:20:42

it really doesn't matter, what works the best for you.

I just had to wish you a great weekend! Take care of that bum calf and happy biking!!! Be so careful! Hobblecreek is just around the corner!!!

Wow Wee! Lots of miles! I couldn't walk after riding that many! My backside kills me when riding a bike--even with a gel seat! I don't get it--I have plenty of padding!

You could do a triathlon sprint pretty easy I bet even now! We should think about it! Your a great swimmer, you only have to go 13 miles or so biking (I think), and then run a 5K! It would be fun!

P.S. Check out my splits for today! I think something is wrong with me!
