I LOVE the new shoe tracker!  It ROCKS!!!

The first half of today's run was AWESOME!!  Mile 3 was HORRIBLE.  I had a bit of a tummy ache for the first bit which really chimed in at mile 3.  After a VPB, I felt much better :D  Anyway- my pace was SOOOOO slow, but who cares!  I do kinda, but I'd rather run slow with out injuries!  I'm good!

4.2#'s lost since last monday. :D  This past weekend was a TOTAL victory!  I had NO binges AT ALL!!  Yesterday we even made caramel corn and I had one small bowl!  YEAH!!!!  I feel pretty good about the whole thing!  Sunday and Monday are typically my highest weight days.  Thursday is always my lowest day of the week.  Go figure ;)  Anyway, this week is hoping to be another good one for the books.

You are so disciplined!! Homemade Caramel Corn is definitely one of my weaknesses. Especially when it is still nice and warm. Oh man, maybe I should go make some right now!!

Nice run Sweet Miss Marion!!

And ... AWESOME ON YOUR WEIGHT GOAL!!!!

From Lucia on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:34:41

Marion you are such an inspiration! You are totally rocking this weight loss thing! Amazing, simply amazing!

You are totally right about running slow rather than injured. Smart girl!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:40:54

Well- frankly it's about DARN time that my weight decided to go down!!!! I have been working my BUTT off! Seriously, I have NO butt! hehehehehehe. Anyway, thanks guys! There aren't many places that you can talk about your weight. "Hi Grocery Store Lady, How much is the chicken and by the way, I've just lost 4 pounds."

From Metcalf Running on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:44:56

Way to to Marion!!! I wish I had your disapline when it comes to food. I really need to do better. You are my inspiration to get my mind in the game!! When I'm brave enough I will post how I'm doing.

From The Howling Commando on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 17:28:45

ALRIGHT MARION! You are so inspiring! I love seeing how you are always losing weight! And I agree with the "rather run slow without injuries" than not run at all. I am so happy that we are both able to run again!

I agree with some of the others about the discipline issue. I wish I had some discipline with my appetite! I'm trying my best though. Going to cook Emma a yummy dinner tonight of 99% fat free chicken in a yummy ginger, sesame drizzle with some yummy veggies, etc! I will work harder to stop eating the junk though so I can look like a beach volleyball player like you! :-D

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 17:49:26

YEAH FOR YOU and your weight loss and perfect eating!! Good girl!

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 18:14:08

Yahoo! A good weekend is HUGE!! Keep it up skinny girl! Your years milage is very impressive!!!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 18:46:42

Benn- your dinner sounds WONDERFUL!

Girls you are too nice. Is there a blushing typing symbol? We'll just have to see how long I can keep it up. Just show me chocolate and I am TOAST!!!

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 19:28:10

I will be a good friend then and keep the chocolate away. How do you do that at Halloween?

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 19:53:18

Kelli- I am not sure what is going to happen on Halloween. I am VERY scared about all of the chocolate that will be here EEEEEkkkkk! We have to take all of the candy with nuts away from the kids to keep Mac from having a reaction. This means, I get it all!!! I need to ponder this problem. I was so worried abou the donuts that I forgot about the CHOCOLATE!!!! CRAP!

From Lucia on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 19:58:08

Ladies, I feel like our lives keep getting further and further apart... I don't have a husband, or kids... I haven't ran in like forever... normally, I'd say something like "Halloween is so hard, with candy all around, I can't help myself from eating it all the time" but since my mouth is shut I have no choice!!! So that's another thing I can't commensurate with you guys about!!! :(

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:03:44

Oh Lucia- I love you and am SO sorry about your stupid jaw! I never thought about the lack of chocolate! You can MELT the chocolate and drink it! Ooohhh yes! That is the ticket!

From Lucia on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:25:06

Hahahaha! Marion you are so funny - I am waaaaay ahead of you on that. I've been liquifying chocolate pudding and drinking it already ;) But still, you just can't blend those candy bar liquid, and that is definitely a good thing! :)

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:27:16

I can not think of worse torture, Lucia!!! It is not even worth the weight loss!! So sorry! How long will your mouth be SHUT?

Marion, just throw it all away!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:28:17

Alright- I have melted a snickers to put on Ice cream. The peanuts are chunky, so you could melt Milky Ways and stir in some peanut butter and make a shake :) OOOhhhh, I am getting VERY hungry now! Milk shake ideas are ENDLESS!!!

From Lucia on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:30:09

Hahaha thanks Kelli - it ain't as bad as it sounds - the worse part is not being able to brush my teeth on the inside, or my tongue!!! YUCK!!!

I will keep my mouth shut (hehe) for 3 weeks from today. I KNOW I will need all your help to keep myself from going CRAZY and eating EVERYTHING when I can eat again, so stay tuned and help me out! Until then please enjoy some Halloween candy on my behalf :)

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:33:29

In total solidarity to Lucia, I will not eat any candy this Halloween! Ok, in almost total solidarity to Lucia, I will only eat one snickers and one reeses this Halloween!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:34:21

Oh yeah, and three donuts! But that's it!!! I SWEAR!!!

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:35:02

Oh, heck no!!! I have GAINED 7 pounds since running the marathon because I have eaten too much candy and ice cream! I do not even think I would lose weight if my mouth were wired shut, I like shakes too much!! I now have 12 pounds to lose, so send some of your weight loss my way!!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 20:36:32

Kelli- I will send you all of my extra weight loss as soon as I get to how much you weigh TODAY!!! ;D Deal?

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 21:08:04

Well, that is not totally fair because I am only 5'6 1/2"!!

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 21:12:05

Oh, now I really want to know how much you weigh Kelli, I am 5'6 1/2" too!! I want to look how you look right now!!! That is funny after TOU and ST. George I was up 12 also, I am chipping away at it, bit by bit. It is a bummer, but I am going to do it!!! So.....how much....pretty please..... I want to be like you!!!

From Lucia on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 21:13:20

Ohhh you are getting into a slippery slope there ladies! Don't forget we're all built different, our bones weigh different, we have more/less boobage area, muscular, etc. So don't put too much "weight" on this issue, already? Hahaha!

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 21:15:48

Boobage area would be a big part of the problem here!! PLus, I have so many muscles!!! WINK WINK. However, I am not shy. Today I weigh a whopping 147 pounds. Before the marathon, I was down to 139. 135 was my ultimate goal, and STILL IS!!! I think some of todays weight is just a bad weekend, as i was at 142 last Thursday, but we will see!!!

There ya go, me in a nutshell!

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 22:05:55

Thanks for sharing! I would love to be 147!! I think I might have weighed that in the 7th grade!!!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 22:28:21

Hey- we are the 147 club. I was about 143 in college and would probably have to chop off a leg to get there again. I have actually grown 3/4 of an inch since then. I think 155 is as low as I could go, but 163 is maintainable. If I get to 155, I will have lost 100 pounds! That would be pretty cool!

YOu are very right Lucia. We are all built differently and we must be VERY kind to ourselves!

Kelli- Thursday is the LOW day for me too.

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 22:32:32

Oh yeah- I love you all! Hey Benn- I hope you are ignoring all of this girl CRAP! Girls are NUTS incase you haddn't noticed!

What is said on the blog, stays on the blog!

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 22:47:50

I think I did weigh 147 in 7th grade, but it did not look the same!! In all honesty, I was a size 6 when I got married and weighed 142. So, why is 142 now a size 10? The things our body does after having kids!!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 23:33:15

You ain't whistling dixie! Having kids does a number on the body and the mind! It's a very good thing they are so cute!!! ;D

From montelepsy on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 23:52:04

What is VFB?

8 more pounds and you would lose an entire Kelsey! Eek!

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 08:33:02

Nope, I can not whistle!

Hey, the scale made a huge drop overnight!! This morning I am at 143.8!!! So maybe I did not gain as much as I thought, we will see what TRUE WEIGHT WEDNESDAY brings me. I have to weigh in Thursday morning for the month of October, and I know it is going to register a gain (as I weighed in just before the marathon last time), but I would like to minimize the damage!!!

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 10:33:10

VPB- Virtually Private Bathroom EEkkk!!! and yes- how sad is that, that I could lose a whole person! EEEEEEEKKKKKkkkkkkkkkk!!!

Kelli- Whoo hoo! Sunday and Monday weights are CRAP!!! You've got to wait for Thursday ;) You'll have a FANTASTIC weigh in on Thursday. I am going to do my weigh in on thurday too ;)

From MichelleL on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 10:39:03

My approach to Halloween is to eat dinner, and I can eat what candy I want on the holiday, but no halloween candy the days leading up to nor days after the holiday. One day won't kill you - but stretching the holiday over two weeks will kill any weight loss success you've had over the last month.

Lucia - so sorry about your liquid diet. Doesn't sound fun at all.

Kelli - If I had boobs I might weigh 147 too ;)

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:24:58

Michelle- I am following your advice to the T. I am giving my self Halloween (3 donuts, one snickers and one reeses), Thankgiving Day and Christmas Day. That's it! You are 100% right about the weeks of induging being a HUGE downfall! I am probably going to give myself dinner on Christmas Eve too and only a half day on Chrismas Day.

Those would be some AWESOME boobs Michelle at 25#'s! You wouldn't look very Filipino with boobs that big, though!

From Lucia on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:27:35

Not until I became a runner I appreciated the blessing of having small boobs... thank you Mom! :)

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:33:43

NO KIDDING!!! They are a curse for sure in the running world!! There is not a sports bra good enough out there, I have tried them all. But, no, mine do not weigh 25 pounds, maybe 10???

Yeah, good tips about the not eating before Halloween. Why didn't you guys warn me earlier?

From montelepsy on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:43:13

Rachel married a big Filipino boob.

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:52:09

Mike! Are you Filipino? I had no idea you were a boob! ;) I have been teasing Michelle about how many running shoes she had, you know Imelda Marcos.

Kelli- didn't you know the rule about NEVER buying the halloween candy until 4pm on Halloween! Halloween is the downfall of the whole holiday season! Oh and about the sports bras- two that are a size too small work beautifully! I should know- my boobs do weigh 25#'s!

Lucia you are blessed. I mean about the boobs, not about the NO CANDY thing! :(

SOLIDARITY to Lucia- no candy for anyone!

From Lucia on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:54:31

No no no no! You guys eat all the candy for me, exactly because I cannot eat any of it! Otherwise the entire candy economy will go down the drain!!!

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:00:46

Lucia single handedly destroyed the candy industry on one fateful day in October 2008 on her bike! Oh the power you weild!

From montelepsy on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:04:32

I am Filipino. I used to call Rachel Imelda because of her shoes. :) I was confused at first, Michelle looks about as Filipino as Rachel does.

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:18:41

You are right, Michelle has not a speck of Filipino in her look. I had called her Imelda and she replied that it must be because of the shoes and I replied that it was because she looked so Filipino :)

Does Rachel/you cook great Filipino food? In high school many of my friends were Filipino and I loved going to their houses for AMAZING food that their moms and grandmothers would make for us! Growing up in the Bay Area was awesome. Unitl I was about 10 I wanted to be mexican SO badly! I begged my mom th dye my hair brown. My best friend was 1/2 mexican and I felt so horrible being so boring and unethnic!

From montelepsy on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:25:11

Rachel's sinigang makes my mom green with jealous rage. Her adobo's great too, but her sinigang (tamarind-based soup) is witchcraft.

I can make pancakes, waffles and toast. Excellent pancakes, waffles and toast. I can press the button on the rice cooker too.

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:33:08

Glad to see that your cooking repertoire is the same as all of the men I know. Why is it that men have breakfast down?

I don't remember any of the names of the things they fixed, just that I loved it! OK- more recipes I need from RAchel :D

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:51:28

My husband makes really good grilled cheese sandwiches!

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 14:27:53

Ummmmm grilled cheese is my favorite!!!

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 12:23:37

Okay, it is true weight day. So I am here to report that I have officially gained a pound a week since the marathon. I am at 143 even today. Bummer, but, I am back on the weight loss train!

From leslie on Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 12:27:22

143, that sounds devine! I couldn't even post my weight today!

Marion, who is Christopher Walkin?

From marion on Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 12:32:53

Kelli- that weight rocks and I am with les- I'd take it! But- you'll get it off, no stress!

Leslie- you need to google him if you do not know who he is. You will recognize him when you see him. He is an actor who played a bad guy in the 80's and 90's a lot.

Click on the cowbell skit link. Funny stuff!

From Lucia on Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 12:53:57

WE NEED MORE COWBELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!

WE'RE ALL GOING TO LOSE WEIGHT THE RIGHT WAY BECAUSE WE ROCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 13:13:36

What is the right way??? I assume it is not by having an accident and requiring surgery and having to be on a liquid diet (I still just can not even imagine it---not even worth the weight loss!)

So, exercise and good eating would be my second guess? Dang, it is hard.

From jill on Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 13:30:40

I am joining in here becuase I am on a mission to lose weight too. Efter running the marathin on Sunday, I need to start running agin this sunday to keep the weight off... I have been treating myself too much... I mean tricking/treating myself too much thinking that I need lots of food to heal... YEah right! Ok, great work gals... everyone here is so beautiful!

From marion on Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 13:50:56

Welcome Jill! I feel you pain with the treats! I just refuses to by any candy before the 31st, or I'll eat it ALL!!! Hey is this Jillzo? Great marathon!!!!
