I got out at about 8:40am, 37 degrees.  BEAUTIFUL morning!!  We went to Wal-Mart last night for milk and I ended up with a treasure!  In the men's athletic wear I found some double layer nylon sweat pants with really deep pockets.  Yeah!  $15 :D  I wore them over my running tights and I was nice and toasty!  I was a little disappointed that it was not colder, so I could give them a really good test! Oh well!  That day shall come all too soon!

The run today was just nice and easy.  I stopped to stretch a few times.  I was painfully slow, but there was no pain involved :)  I am amazed at how much easier 5 miles is now since I spent all of last month biking my brains out!  I've got to say, my running is MUCH easier with no biking.  I am going to have to contemplate the meaning of these things :) No migraines either! ;)  Oh yeah- and those STUPID 8 pounds are miraculously gone this week... hummm?  Seriously- suddenly GONE!!  Could it be the tofu?  Quinoa?  I bet it's that stinking tasty salad I ate all day yesterday!!!

The picture below is my FAVORITE in the world.  It just CRACKS ME UP!!!  Yes, I am 7 years old at heart!

Running 5.05 miles, 1:08:43 minutes, best 9:03, ave 13:37, Laps- 14:52, 13:48, 13:13, 12:58, 12:13

Sounds like a great week! I know that I did some biking and running last week and it seemed kind of hard towards the end of the week. But then this week seems miraculously easier. I think maybe alternating weeks of just jogging and then biking/jogging are the way to go for me. Building strength and stamina slowly.

Great job on the 8 pounds! I wish I could do that! I have a difficult enough time losing 1 measly pound :( You rock!

As for the cartoon. HAHA That's hilarious. I think I snorted a bit.

From marion on Wed, Oct 15, 2008 at 12:23:13

Yes, Benn- it is a snorter for sure! I snorted at your snorting! :)

I am with you on the adding biking in a few weeks a month. I was SO worn out for those 5 weeks, just pooped. It feels good to not have to take a nap everyday. :) It also feels SO good to have 5 miles feel like nothing :)

As for the weight- you are probably a lot closer to your ideal weight than I am. Thanks for the encouragement! I am off to Costco!! Woo Hoo!!! I've got to get there before the samples get set out! I eat EVERYTHING they toss my way!

Loved the picture!!!! 8 pounds is HUGE!!! I have 8 to go to reach my goal and then I really need to keep losing, but at least if I get to my ww goal I will have some piece of mind.

The biking really got you strong, I think the alternating idea sounds good. You go girl!

Nice run!!! I know it's time for me to get out my running tights for the cold! Good job on miraculously loosing 8 lbs., i never seem to be able to drop even 1 pond.

From leslie on Wed, Oct 15, 2008 at 18:09:31

Hey, how long did it take you to lose the 8 pounds??

From kungfublonde on Wed, Oct 15, 2008 at 18:10:34

I just ate 8 lbs of dry roasted cashews... :(

And I have to say Marion, I'm nominating you for Fast Running Blog Cheerleader. People say I am always cheerful and positive, but holy cow, you totally put me to shame. You are so encouraging and supportive every single day. LOVE it!!

FOUR DAYS!!!! Four days on, four days off- with a month in the middle kicking my butt! Aparently, my body would rather me excersize a bit less if I want to lose weight! I am at a loss! I really retain water when I do a TON of excersize so that must have been it. I really felt like CRAP all last month, but DANG- this week the running feels FABULOUS!!! Go figure!!!

sorry about the typos- I can't spell! :(

Rah! Rah! Rah! Marion!

That sounds so familiar---working out too much, not enough (or at least enough of the right stuff). It seems so wrong, but feels so right!

GOOD FOR YOU! Maybe you sent your 8 pounds my way, as the scale is going up a little each day. BUmmer. Could be that my working out is about cut in half!

Okay, now, no wishing the cold weather upon us! It is cold enough already. But way to go on the great find at Wal Mart. I still need to go shopping (waiting for payday) for that warm stuff. But, heck, I have been on th treadmill so I do not need it!

WOW 8 pounds is great!!! So glad you are not having the migraines. I'm glad that your running is feeling better, I hate it when I have a hard week...:( not fun.

Your snorting made me snort LOL

Good job on finding running clothes.

I bought a pair of running capris tonight at Target - but will have to wait until it is a little cooler out to try them. I am enjoying wearing the shorts as long as I can without getting hypothermia or frostbite.

I've been jamming to a couple of new CD's I bought tonight: Silver Screen Serenade by Jenny Oaks Baker (saw her in concert last week) and 5 Stars by the 5 Browns.
