My Favorite Quote-   "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." -Harriet Beecher Stowe

I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

I hope ya'll wanted some whine with breakfast, because here it comes.

To quote my 2 year old, Will, "poopie, poopie, poopie."  Someone shot my "Polly Anna" and the prognosis is very dismal.

The first half of my run, was a walk, interspersed with very crampy calves trying to run.  I spent more time in down dog than I did moving, as to try to stretch them out.  The walking was nice.  I had a nice time with Kelly Clarkson, Il Divo, and Van Halen ;)

The second half, my calves quit cramping up and let me, ever so slowly, run home.  The broadway cast of Hairspray and Billy Idol brought me in.

I am going to get a bike helmet today and do some biking while my lower extremities are still boycotting running.

Serenity now!!!

Your body is recovering from the race. Just deep pluggin away and you might want to get in some more vitiams and minerals esp. Magnesium, Potassium, and Calcium. I take this stuff called Mama calm by Peter Cillham's Natural Vitality when my legs are cramping alot. It calms them right down and I feel better.

Good advice. I went on a fruit and veggie binge yesterday- that was probably my bodies way of getting all that good stuff. Do you get Mama Calm at the Good Earth?

From josse on Tue, Jun 17, 2008 at 12:17:35

Yes it is in power form. Just ask if you can't find it.

Waltermelon is the fruit of the Gods! Watermelon, chocolate, and bacon are the trifecta of eating delights!

You might be low on electrolytes, plus recovering from the run (congrats - by the way).

Hang in there and keep training.

I think I saw Josse mention to you somewhere to just make sure you stay consistent...run 6 days a week! Seriously! Even if it's only two miles, add bike if you want, but get out and run. I know that being consistent is the biggest key to any improvement I have seen! And remember that running doesn't have to be at your highest speed all the time. Tom always tells me it's good to have a group of faster people to run with and a group of slower people.

Have you been to the work meeting yet? I feel like I will be the only one there on the 27th. Everyone else seems to have already been to it. I hope I'm not alone there.

From marion on Tue, Jun 17, 2008 at 17:21:28

I have been to the meeting. The new stuff is FANTASTIC. I am very excited about it.

I have been pretty consistent. I will keep it up. Thanks so much for the help and the blog! I LOVE it!
