Oh what a beautiful morning!  I love that it is not pitch black at 6:20 AM!  Halleluiah!  There was a bit of snow on top of our little burnt up mountain this morning.  The coolest part was when I turned around and saw Timp.  It was covered with snow and brilliant with the sun just lighting the back edges and little lines of pink clouds hovering on the summit.  Today is going to be a GREAT day ;)  It was 49 degrees.  One long sleeve shirt, nylon pants, ear muff, gaiter and gloves were perfect.  My goal was to have negative splits.  I am feeling much better so far this week!  Hope it lasts!!!

Have an amazing day everyone!  I am with Maruine today, runners high #1 for the month!  ;)

That sounds like it was a really pretty run. You were starting out as I was finishing up! It was still pretty dark out for me.

I might get some extra miles in this week because I worked about 12 hours this weekend, so might cut out early a few days.

Glad you are feeling better too!

From snoqualmie on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 10:08:30

Oh, that sounds so lovely! We have yet to get the Cascades topped with white but it's coming soon. I'll try to post a photo when it comes.

You and I are both into the negative splits now! I read Dale's blog and his advice all the time, and I'm quite sure it is a very worthy goal, even for us slower runners.

What a beautiful run! It looks like you are off to a great start of your week! I am glad you are feeling so good!

I loved our Sat. run, I can't wait for the next one!

From Kelli on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:01:38

I am so glad you are feeling better!!! The week is beginning great for you so let's hope it stays that way. Are you ready for more snow???

We loved that run on Saturday and may just trek there every weekend!! Trail running is so much better than avoiding cars. Plus it had a good variety of flat, hills, little ups, little downs, etc... I think we will be there again next Saturday if anyone else wants to come! We do not have to have a party, we just really liked it!

From leslie on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:04:39

I agree Kelli, it was a great trail, and it didn't take long to get there. I will have to see if Maurine is up for it and maybe go, I would like to check out the rest of the trail as well.

From Kelli on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:07:04

We could go the opposite direction!

From leslie on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:07:59

Do you know how far it is to the lake?

From Kelli on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:11:01

Someone said it was just another 5.

I was thinking for the 20 miler, when we do it (and we will do it more than once) we could start at the same point and do the 10 we did last weekend. That way we can stop at our cars and get drinks and fuel, then continue on in the other direction 5 miles and then back.

From marion on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:20:23

That sounds like a GREAT plan! I can come do 14 and then drop out for fuel ;)

From Kelli on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:23:27

The FUEL would be at mile 10 if we did that, right???

From marion on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:29:36

Yes- I'd just turn back after mile 2 in the other direction to only get 14. Oh who knows! ;)

From Kelli on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:34:45

Oh, I get it!!! Sorry, I am SLOW.

Alrighty, I just finished planning my next two week's worth of menus so I can eat good and lose some weight, now I gotta jet to the grocery store! Have a good day!

From marion on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:36:21

Good job Kelli- have fun at the store. I've got all the food we need, we just have NO shampoo. With teenagers that's almost as bad as running out of food!

From Kelli on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:38:12

Okay, now I will really go! We are actually out of Eggo waffles and that is a SIN!!! My kids eat nothing but Eggos for breakfast.

BYE!

From leslie on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:39:00

great plan ladies! I would like to do it this Sat. if I can. Have fun shopping! Marion, do you think the girls would notice if you fill the shampoo bottle with dish soap? :)

From marion on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 15:41:01

Good idea! You are SO smart!!! ;D

From tarzan on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 16:06:39

You ladies need to either get a job or on instant messenger.

I would be willing to do a longer run on Saturday.

One thing to consider for long runs in the winter. Leslie and I did several runs on the track at the Olympic Ice Oval. It gets monotonous (7 laps per mile) - but it beat running in the snow for hours at a time and it would be a fun social event because we would be lapping each other and could talk then.

From marion on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 16:09:24

Chatty Kathy! That is us! If i get off of the computer then I'll have to clean or something LOUSY!!! The oval sounds awesome, but FAR far away!!!

From britta on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 16:15:41

Nice spilts!!! You are faster than you know! I am looking forward to running with you guys again!

From montelepsy on Tue, Nov 04, 2008 at 01:12:49

Nice push at the end! Push-ups, woo-hoo!
