Oh, what a beautiful morning, oh, what a beautiful day!  I've got a beautiful feeling, everything's going my way :D

This weather is my absolute favorite!  In case you are wondering why I am in such a good mood, even with a croupy 2 year old, well... my weight is FINALLY dropping :D  YEAH!!!  Halleluiah!!!  Anyway, I am also pretty excited because last week went so well.  I am finally feeling like I am getting used to ALL of this extra exercise.  Woo Hoo!  I am probably going to LIVE ;D

Rest week over... this week is back to building running miles.  I am going by the 10% rule, sort of.  This week is 26 running miles.  I will bike up to 90 minutes per day of  kick my bum exercise ;)  I have been converting the biking into running miles by dividing the total biking minutes by 12 (Sasha's conversion # for me).  12 minutes of biking = 1 mile of running. My actual biking miles have not been as many as they have been without the trailer and kids.  I also have been trying to bike on the flattest roads I can find.  The gloves I bought at the bike store have helped immensely with the numbness and soreness in my hands and arms.  Oh yeah, yoga everyday too.  My IT band is finally getting over itself and not killing my hip anymore.  Yippee!!!

I think I have got a handle on the starvation feeling.  I am making sure to eat every two hours to satisfaction.  For those of you familiar with the Weight Watchers Core Plan, that is what I am following.  For those of you not familiar with this food plan, it has NO Points.  It has you eat from a list of wholesome and nutritious foods without tracking.  The list of foods consists of lean meats, beans, whole grains, fat free dairy, fruits and vegetables, basically.  Anyway,  I am feeling great.  Our peach tree is almost ripe, and I cannot wait to eat them all.

I am very excited to see what this week brings.  The weather is supposed to be wonderful, so life is good.  I wish you all well this week.

Hey, I hope that IT band keeps getting better!

Your always so positive. Thank you.

Now, what are we going to do about that running goal that got "BUST"ed? (Hobble Creek) There are some half marathons around the state, find one you can get to with your busy schedule and let your/this running gang know, I for one will run it with you. (Moab has on March 21)

Lets Get that goal!

From marion on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 14:40:07

Yes, I am already planning on the Provo 1/2 April 4th 2009. I just have to get it in before I turn 40 :) Silly, I know. I like the Provo one, as it is local. I would love to do the Moab one, but I have no where to stay :( I figure if I do the Provo 1/2 I might have a good chance at more of my buddies being there :) Maybe I can even get some compassionate soul to pace me so I can break my 2 hour goal :) By giving myself a bit more time, I am hoping to avoid anymore injuries. Plus it will give me time to get MORE weight off. UUGH!!!! I think that is the hard thing about already having lost so much weight... I feel SO much better than I have in FOREVER that it's hard to fathom that I need to lose more. OH well, it's just the sad or happy truth, depending on how you look at it. I think it actually blows my husband away that Sasha thinks I can get back down to my high school weight. It blows my mind too, frankly. We dated in High School :)Time will tell, and we shall see, if the amazon goddess can be set free! Hey, I made a rhyme. Michelle is the one who came up with the "amazon goddess" thing. It cracked me up so much that I had to make it my blog title. I hope everyone knows how much of a joke I think that is :) My amazon goddess got the crap beaten out of her having 6 kids :D She's pretty be-draggled these days :D

I ran Moab this year, it was fun, I stayed at Motel 6 in Green River (hotel was cheaper than Moab $45 vs $120, and GR is only 50 miles away from Moab).

I would be happy to run with you, and pace! I'm sure we can get a couple others to participate! (paging Kelli, Scott, Scooby, ......)

You can do all that you talked about! The weight, I agree with Sasha, I have personal experience to back me!!!

From marion on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 15:19:56

I've heard Moab is hard to get into, yeah? Ney? We went down there a few years ago and stayed in this funky rv park that had these little cabins and hut things. I suppose I could swing a little trip :) DAvid would love it. I wonder if I could get him to start running :)

Hey- so you think Sasha's right? Seriously? What's your story my friend? Do tell.

From Kelsey on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 17:05:26

I actually started eating that way to keep my energy up when my mileage increases. I love it. I am never starving because when I am at all hungry, I eat something. Everyone laughs because I am always eating (because I am always hungry when the mileage gets so high), but it's things like bananas and peanut or yogurt. So I am never hungry and never stuffed. You'll continue to get used to it and probably learn to love it too! I also think when you graze all day, you learn to thoroughly enjoy your dinner!

Try celery with peanut butter and cinnamon, it's awesome and I don't even like celery.

Thanks for the encouraging comments :)

From marion on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 19:21:25

I LOVE everything peanut, but my 5 year old is allergic and I can't have it around :( I'll try the celery PB cinnamon thing at my running partners house :D I get my nut fixes at her house. I'm glad to hear that you are eating this way too. I needed to find others who do to help me keep encouraged. Thanks so much for leaving your comment. I need it today :D

You are going to have one awesome week after another!! And you know, the Painter's Half Marathon in St. George in January is a lot of fun!! :)

From marion on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 23:10:25

Is the Painter's Half one of the series that get you into SMG? I have heard there is a series of races that if you run in, you are automatially in at SGM. Do you know about this?

From jona on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 00:53:08

Marion, Painters is one of the "Runners Series" races that will get you into SGM.

You can get more info here:

From Teena on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 10:12:42

Hey Marion!! Yes, definitely look into the Runners Series. That is how I got into SG this year. If I remember right, they only allow 500 people in the series. I am planning on registering for it again this year and running the Snow Canyon half and probably Painters.

From jona on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 10:15:55

Teena, did you have to camp out online to get one of the 500? I'm wondering how hard it is to be one of the 500.

Registration (for runners series) opens October 6th 2008 at 9:00 am

From Teena on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 10:18:25

Jona and Marion,

Nope, didn't need to camp out online. In fact, I think I didn't register until registration had been open a day or so. I think it is getting much more popular however. This year I am planning on registering on the 6th when I wake up in the morning.

From leslie on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 10:27:49

oh, this was all great reading! It has got me motivated! I am trying to do core too right now and today the scale is down and I am feeling optimistic! I am trying to talk my chicks into Painters 1/2 in Jan. I have done it before too, and it is so fun to get out of the snow and take a little running trip. I know it is earlier than you want Marion, but you could use it as a aided training run!!! Nice and easy and have a fun vacation! Keep us posted on all your progress, I am hoping to do really good this week on my core and could use some encouragement and tips!!!! You all rock!

From jona on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 10:28:16

Teena, I'm right there with you when that opens, I didn't get in this year and don't want that to happen again. So runners series is my ticket. (I hope)

From marion on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 10:38:29

I just emailed the director of the series. I am thinking of the breast cancer run in October and then one of the half, probably the Painters 1/2. Who's in? Let's PARTY!!! I will register at midnight for the series :D Should we have a registration party?

Les- Core ROCKS! The weight is really coming off now and I FEEL so much better :)

From jona on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 12:05:11

?Party, did I hear there was a party? Cool.

Marion, I'm tentatively in on Painters.

Another good web site to see what races are in the St George area, and it even tells you if the race is part of the runners series:

From MichelleL on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 18:14:14

No need to joke about the goddess thing :) My weight is about what it was when I was in 10th grade. Sasha believes in eating healthy food whenever you're hungry, so he must be a closet WW fan.

Also, Painter's is a great race and gives you motivation when you need it (ahem - holidays) to stay on track.

From marion on Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 18:24:06

Ok- Michelle, if you say so :) AMAZON GODDESS COME FORTH AND RUN LIKE THE WIND - or Michelle or Josse or Teena, or Kelsey or any of the other fast chicks on this blog ;)

Are you doing Painters? It may be a winter FRB party in the warm of SG.

I am guessing that Sasha has never heard about the WW Core Plan. He might like it :) I sure do. It really helps to eat.
