TT(turtle tuesday) :D  About a mile and a half into the run, I started getting another migraine :(  Three days in a row.  Bummer :(  The run was fine.  I decided to do the run because it was almost as far to just finish, as it was to turn around.  Migraines tend to give me a bit of tummy trouble, so thankfully, an office was open in the middle of the OD 5k route that I could use :D  All of the VPB's were over barbed wire fences.  OUCH ;)  My calves are getting tight again.

I'd love to write more, but the head will not allow.  Have a GREAT day!

What is up with the headaches?? i am so sorry. I know my sister takes something for hers---benadryl and 2 other things, I can not remember. But it works like a charm. Have you ever heard of that? I will have to call her in AZ and ask her what it is she takes.

FEEL BETTER! Get some rest.

(Hey, maybe it is the headstands hurting your brain???)

From leslie on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 12:13:44

Oh, I am soooo Sorry!! I hope Kim finds the perfect remedy!! Yeah, the headstands might be the culprit! Get some rest and get better soon!

From Barry on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 12:34:27

Ouch, sorry. It sure makes life hard having to deal with pain. Just remember that this life is only temporary. Keep up the good running, and have a great day!!

Hormones are the culprit mixed with stress and dehydration. This a just a guess. I did all my exercise because as Michelle drilled into my brain, it's going to hurt anyway, so you may as well run! I pulled into work yesterday and got another one. The best part is that my boss from SL came in to evaluate me :D Woo hoo!

Oh well- live and enjoy diet pepsi! I wonder if the mexican restaurante does take out drinks? I wonder if they deliver?

From Teena on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 14:33:17

Marion -- so sorry about the migraines. I think you are right on with the diagnosis. I always get them when I don't have enough water in me. The blinking lights start and it's all over. Nothing seems to get rid of them except for time. I'm very interested in what Kelli's sister does.

Stay hydrated and feel better soon.

From Kelli on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 16:12:14

2 tylenol, 2-4 ibuprofen, and an antihistamine (preferrably Benadryl), You can also add some dramamine if you are really sick to your stomach (vertigo).

There you have it, quite the concoction. She says she actually stays away from caffeine when she has a migraine, but I dunno why.

From krash man on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 16:54:39

I hate those days that you all up for a good run and some thing fouls it up like a migraine or tight muscles.

Hope you get better.

From marion on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 17:05:29

Yes- caffeine is GREAT for the tension headaches, not always for migraine. Tension head aches are when the blood vessels constrict. Migraine is when the blood vessels initially constrict but then they expand, hence the EXTREME pain. Caffeine works on the tension, because it thins the blood and relieves the pressure of the blood flowing through the veins.

I am going to try her cocktail. It sounds like it might be nice. I do drink diet pepsi when I get them sometimes, just as a comfort food. You have to be really careful because migraine can hiccough and then you are sunk for days. It can be really hard to tell what will breed more migraine. I am in a major hiccough with mine right now. a second round already started today. I am going to send my daughter for a snickers bar and I am going to eat it and take a nap. I knew I should have slept in this morning, but I thought I was just being lazy!

Thanks Mr. Laurie! Where is that cute wife of yours? Have the school kids eaten her alive?

From krash man on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 17:10:09

All most but I wouldn't mess with that teacher. They sure eat up her time.

From marion on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 17:13:29

A busy teacher is a GREAT teacher! The kids are lucky to have her :D

From Megan on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 19:24:24

Hi... Thanks Marion for super postive comment:)

Wow... great workout today!!! Finished even with a migraine. My mom gets those!

PS... savasana is totally great, it definately helps relax me for outside the yoga room.

Feel Better!... What poses do you do in yoga to help with your migraines?

From Metcalf Running on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 21:04:58

Marion I hope you can get your migraines under control. I used to get them, at least I think they were migraines. Someone said they were cluster headaches. All I know is that sound hurt... light hurt, and made me throw-up. All I could do was take a tin of tylonal and try to fall to sleep, I I could sleep for a few hours I usually woke up OK.

Take care,

Lori

Megan- Legs up the wall is my favorite. Nearly all of the poses help except if they irritate me. I usually stick to my favorite poses, anything that sounds good. I tend to be indulgent when I am having a migraine :)

Lori- I'm sorry about the cluster head aches. They are really painful.
