What a beautiful day in the neighborhood!  I woke up and did 30 min of yoga :D  Then David drove Kim R and me up the canyon to the Maple Dell and we ran down.  We kept the pace very relaxed and conversational.  We saw 4 deer and a bunch of cows.  My legs feel great.  I am going to get in 30 min of biking after breakfast.  I am starved!  Last night I was inspired by Michelle's lasagna, and so I made spaghetti.  I have been CRAVING beef, so I threw some extra extra lean beef into the yummy sauce.  I also took an iron supplement to ward of anemia.  I need to be sure to get my supplements in to ward of any deficiencies I might be creating with the increased activity.

MAJOR BREAK THROUGH!!  We went to Stan's in Provo last night with our girls after the temple.  I have not been to Stan's since college.  They make the best shakes in the WHOLE world!  Anyway, I ordered a peanutbutter hot fudge shake.  YUMM!!  Drum roll please, I only ate half!  I have NEVER eaten just half.  I know some of you really good eaters are thinking I was going to say I passed, but...no, I ate only half and that is GREAT for me.  Next time, my girls and I decided that we would just split one between us.  I am so excited I did that :)

5.67 running miles- 1:01:14, ave 10:48, best 7:47, Laps-10:18, 10:58, 11:05, 10:45, 10:24, 9:41(.5)

30 min biking = 2.5 running miles :)

WOW you are rockin' Marion! What a fabulous morning you're having! It's pouring over here with that hurricane above us. Have a great weekend!

Way to go on sharing the ice cream! I fear I will never be to that point, ice cream is a sacred thing!

Great run!

You inspire me!! I am very impressed both with your workout today and your ability to limit yourself on desert and actually sound happy about it. When I decide to pass on desert (which is about never) or not eat all of it, I am like an angry hornet sniffing around for any added taste or sense of sugar that I can gain. I get bitter, angry and confused on WHY, I can't just eat what I want, when I want and how much I want and not gain weight, I mean COME ON, is that too much to ask?

Sorry, the anger is coming out. See just talking about passing on some desert is painful for me. You are awesome, I am going to aspire to me more like you!! Way to go today!!

Thanks ladies! Kellie- you are just like the rest of us, including me. If someone tells me "you can't have that!" I eat three! I am with you- why the heck can't we have as much as we want and NOT gain weight? NO FAIR!!! That whole monderation thing is a tight rope that I fall off of most of the time. It is a tight rope with cheese cake and Ben and Jerry's for a landing zone! :D

BECAUSE if we could eat everything we wanted, when we wanted, and not gain weight we would be MEN!!!

I had an entire grasshopper shake last night at the movies---and did not share!

From marion on Sun, Sep 07, 2008 at 19:21:51

Amen Kelli! I love grasshopper EVERYTHING!! Hey- that is my problem. I need to be a bigger food snob!

From Kelli on Sun, Sep 07, 2008 at 20:13:30

Okay, I just finished dinner. We had steak (which was undercooked for me and it grossed me out so I had only one bite), broccoli (smothered in cheese), corn on the cob (didn't want any), honeydew (I picked a good one, so I had tons of that) and that a HEAPING bowl of brownies and fudge (low fat) ice cream. DELISH! I LOVE ice cream---I can not GET enough. So, I am a food snob some of the time, but not too often!

They built an Iceberg right around the corner and it just opened like 3 weeks ago. I have held off because there shakes are HUGE. It will be my reward after St George!

From marion on Sun, Sep 07, 2008 at 20:19:14

I LOVE rare meat! And we have an Iceberg in town too, I haven't gone yet. I am hoping that some perfect day, we will drive by and I can have one guilt free. But hey, I'm mormon and a girl, do we ever ever have a chance to be "guilt free?"

From Kelli on Sun, Sep 07, 2008 at 20:32:05

Not this rare---it made me sick cutting it. I actually felt like I was killing the cow! Scott took the two undercooked ones out and cooked them better, but I was already grossed out! And, it was even filet mignon wrapped in bacon!! Maybe I will eat it for lunch tomorrow.

I feel no guilt about anything! I am what I am (luckily I am not what I eat), take me or leave me! I love food, I just try to let it all even itself out (that is why I joined WW---to teach me portion control and stuff!)

Let's go enjoy a grasshopper shake at iceberg together---guilt free. We can run 20 miles to burn it off later!

From marion on Sun, Sep 07, 2008 at 21:13:08

Grasshopper oreo is my fav! You got it! I can do about 10 miles, but that should do me for a shake :)

From Kelli on Sun, Sep 07, 2008 at 21:48:16

Not an iceberg shake! I bet those things are 5000 calories, if not more!!

You can run 10, bike 10, yoga some, and so on. Whatever it takes to eat the ice cream! Have a good night and happy running this week!

From marion on Sun, Sep 07, 2008 at 21:53:08

you are NO fun "calorie police"! :P OK- I will save all of my WPA for that tasty treat! Next summer I will be training for a marathon, I'll do my 20 miler with you and we can end at Iceberg and celebrate!!!
