I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

What do you do when you wake up at 4:30 am and can't go back to sleep?  Well, you lay there for a while until it is perfectly clear that there will be no more sleeping.  Then you think, "Hey, I know I have a run planned with Kim at 8am, but heck- I think I'll just do it now."  So you lay there for 15 more minutes, until you finally are committed to the idea and are off and running by 5:30am.

Ok- the moon was out and it was BEAUTIFUL this morning.  The moon actually set over West Mountain on my way home, but the run up the canyon was WONDERFUL.  The run felt GREAT, I am sure by comparison of yesterdays run ;)

So now I have an extra few hours today, so I think I will scrub the downstairs bathroom floor.  It is DISCUSTING!!!  Fun times for me!!!

XOXOXOXOXO

Hey Negative Splitter :-D. I LOVE RUNNING EARLY IN THE MORNINGS! Some of my favorite runs this year were running when no one else was awake. It's like the world is yours and there is no one there to steal it from you.

What a great way to start the day! Hope the rest of your day goes well!

Way to go Marion!!

Have a great day!

Great job, Marion! I did the opposite, I laid in bed until it was time to go to work.

You're a Tiger!!! Great run!!!!

I'm afraid to even go in the downstairs bathroom that all the boys use...

From marion on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 16:59:23

April- AMEN!!! The boys are the MAIN problem with that bathroom! YUCK!!

Leslie- Argh!!! Roar!

Maurine- GOOD FOR YOU!! When I sleep late, I figure it is Gods gift to me and I go with it!

Benn- It was SO nice out this morning, no cars, just runners, bikers and walkers. The world was ours!

From marion on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 17:02:35

From marion on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 20:12:46

Kelli- actually I took off my running clothes and crawled back in to bed to get warm and slept until 9:30 :)

From Jodi on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 20:40:14

Your run sounds incredible! I can only imagine what it would look like to see the moon set over mountains. WOW. Don't see that in Indiana.

When I have morning insomnia, I make tea and curl up on the couch with a book. I need to try it your way next time. The going back to bed part, that was right up my alley!

From Brent on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 21:58:41

Marion, you will not die, train, prepare, move towards your goal. You have a very fun spirit, early morning runs, direct your positive energy towards the marathon, no doubt, without Gwen, the finish will be yours.

By the way, me and Sylive met you at Hobble Creek this year when you were talking to the Lion Queen.

100 commando points to you for getting out early in the morning.

Stay Kool, One 5:30 run at a time, B of BS Rools out

I remember meeting you two! I wanted to run that day SO badly!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I feel great about my 1/2 coming up in January and am pretty confident about the full marathon this fall. I just think a 100 miler would be the end of me. But...I also remember a time when I didn't think I could do a 5k, let alone a 10k. Time has a way of unfolding our potential to us!

From marion on Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 00:21:33

Hey Jodi- the mountains were snow covered and glowing in the moon light! VERY COOL!

Rachel- I like your idea!! I love tea and the sofa!!!
